Romy thought that being kidnapped by a pack of douchebag werewolves was the worst thing that could happen to her. Turns out she’s the worst thing that could’ve happened to them. Romy isn’t going to let a little something like getting kidnapped get her down. She’s determined to turn the tables on her captors. Using her wits and somewhat questionable charm, Romy uses her time in captivity to learn … captivity to learn her captors secrets.
But the secrets she discovers still hold her captive. Can she find a way to save more than herself? Or will the secrets she learned hold her prisoner long after she’s escaped?

Talia is my spirit animal and Lynch is the best! The awesome ladies writing these books are doing us dirty with leaving us hanging and panting for more at the end of each book, but I absolutely love it. Seriously though, this series is one of the best I’ve read.
This took an amazing story to a whole new level, Romi goes through sooo so much in this without sacrificing the tone that has been set for the series so far or a severity of the situations in the book. I loved the lighter tone to a darker situation we got in this. Some of the reveals might not be oh so shocking to veteran readers who could’ve picked up on them in the previous book. New ships are popping up whether romantic or platonic and they are EVERYTHING. The Midnight Kisses girls night only gets better in this book! This book kept me hooked until the cliffhanger at the end, but worry not it is not the same hair ripping type as before.
**********Contains Spoilers**********
I’ve read this book multiple times now as it’s one of my go to re-reads but I’ve never gotten around to posting a review so here goes. I loved this book. I was hooked and drawn into this world that Bam and Heather have created from page 1 and I found that these books just keep on getting better. I totally love the friendship between Romy, Talia and Anna. Everyone definitely needs friends like them. Talia is completely bada*se and I can’t wait to see what happens between her and Lynch. There chemistry is off the charts and their banter completely cracked me up. Romy has been abd*cted by Brody and his pack of werebros and she finds out that they were behind all the missing girls on campus. They’ve been abd*cting the girls, changing them into wolves and then Brody using his Alpha powers if need be to make his werebros r*pe them to try and impregnate them, as the babies will all be born wolves so their Pack can gain more power and come at Kash and his pack using the old law meaning that the Pack with the most number of born wolves with have rights to Kash’s land even though it’s been in his family for generations. Romy can’t tell anyone where she is. Her friend Justice tries to help her as much as he can as he’s basically a prisoner as well but he can’t do much as Brody has control over him.
I think Justice is the only wolf in Brody’s Pack with redeeming qualities. Brody is a complete and utter psycho that needs to be stopped. Romy thinks on her feet saying that she needs a phone so she can post on her socials as people will start to worry since she posts something everyday, even if no one thinks she’s missing and just staying with Kash well apart from Anna and Talia. Brody allows her to use her phone but Derek has to post it for her. She gets a photo showing all the Delta guys (werebros) in the background shot of her reading and saying that it’s a throwback so hopefully her friends and Kash will be able to find out who abd*cted her and where she’s being held. I’m so glad that when she escaped with the help of Talia and Lynch that they took Justice with them as he deserves to get out from Brody’s control since he never wanted it in the first place. This book is definitely and emotional roller coaster but there’s plenty of humour to even it out. Man, Lynch is a party planning god and if that’s what he can whip up in such a short time I’d hate to think what he’d be able to do if he wasn’t on a time limit. I’m really looking forward to finding out whose writing was on the note that Kash’s dad received to meet at Valkyrie on the night he was m*rdered as Romy recognised it. I’d definitely recommend this book, series and both authors to everyone.
5 stars for The Girl who Cried Captive by Heather Hildenbrand and Bam Shepherd. This is book is book two in the Of Fates and Fables series. Romy is so bada**but so is Talia which I was kinda of waiting for (LOL MOB ). This book picks up right where book one left us. Romy has been kidnapped by some werebro. I am telling you this story/book has everything: Love, romance, suspense, trouble, bada** heroines, great side characters, drama and even more. Heather Hildenbrand and Bam Shepherd are amazing authors separately but together; words cannot even describe how awesome they are. You just have to read this series to find out.
What a brilliant second volume to this trilogy! Romy finds herself kidnapped and tossed into a cell, pushed beyond her limits, and feeling like she’ll never escape. How will she get back to her friends, her newfound family, the werewolf she loves? It a game of wills and a search for strength deep within herself is she’s going to survive. And her best friends, Talia and Anna aren’t about to give up on her either.
What a terrific collaboration these two authors have going. This story is not only an intricate weaving of two imaginative minds but it’s filled with angst and tension and humor that gives us an exciting adventure, one that leaves us hanging on the edge of our seats in anticipation for the last in the series.
And….they did it again! A pull your hair, out March 3 is too far away cliffhanger!! I love these characters and I have to say Talia is my favorite. My momma said find the biggest bad butt on the playground and make her your bestie and she’s it. Between Romy and her friends kicking some mutt butt and my side splitting laughter I couldn’t put this book down. These books have it all. Highly recommend!!
Great book ! Pulled right into the story. Great characters and amazing girl power. Waiting patiently for the 3rd book.
Great author team !!
Ack! Another cliffhanger! But this one won’t destroy your heart. This was another nail biting, laugh inducing and stand up and cheer book by the Magnificent Mavens of Mischief. I’m totally naming this creative duo the above because they know how to write characters and scenes that will keep your face morphed into an incredulous and fangirly smiling face with raised eyebrows! My husband walked into the room and from his expression I looked bizarre. Whatcha gonna do!? Things get mightily interesting and super entertaining. Ramp up the Charlie’s Angels escapades, the flirty flirtations and bring on those Midnight Kisses!! These good guys are just so delicious and easy to sigh over! This will draw you in and you won’t want to stop reading. I loved the front row seat to this memorable thrill ride!! I can’t wait for more!! Do yourself a huge favor and read this series, but make sure you’ve got nothing else on your schedule, you won’t be able to put this down!!
Romy’s story just gets better and better, in “The Girl Who Cried Captive” by Heather Hildenbrand and Bam Shepherd. She is captured and goes through Hell and yet is strong, smart, and resourceful. Bam Shepherd and Heather Hildenbrand continues to develop these amazing strong characters. Romy’s kick ass friends are just who you want on your side. Talia is my new favorite character of this series. Other supporting characters that you get to know as a reader in this book are well written and fun addition to the story. Kash and Romy has great chemistry and I’m really looking forward to seeing what is in store for them in the next book. This book and series are not to be missed.
its bat-shi* crazy!
Things just got real. Romy is abducted and now she knows too much. She is torture daily and nobody seems to bee looking for her. time is running out.To make matters worse the person responsible for her kidnapping and torture is non other than one of her supposedly “friend” . Aint that a b!? But not everyone is bad and Romy finds herself finding a new friend. Must read! Follow Romy and her bad-ass friends to the rescue, Laughter in the most unexpected times, and definitely more cupcakes . Also definitely more Kash-alphaWolf#iLuvHim
Love the witty dialogue. Fun, and funny! Couldn’t put it down!
Fantastic continuation from The Girl Who Cried Werewolf! I loved it and can’t wait for the third edition! Some questions were answered (woo-hoo!) but another cliffhanger here!!! Talia and Lynch are here to save the day. This is an amazing continuation, but you definitely have to read TGWCW first!
Again. I needed more as soon as I finished. It was funny and happy. It had the sass I was hoping to find in the second book as well. Can’t wait for the next one!
First off I want to say that I want to be Talia when I grow up, that girl is my spirit animal. Ok, this book picks up right where TGWCW, left off without missing a beat. The storyline is just simply amazing. The way all the characters interact with each other is just amazing and realistic. You feel like you are right there with them. The chemistry between Kash and Romy is hot, and then we got our newest couple…. they are just amazing together and I can’t wait to see what that goes.
Then we have the storyline of the book, it will draw you in, spit you out and make you wonder what happened and how you finished the book already. This is one series that you need to read
What a fantastic continuation for this series. This book picks up immediately where book one’s cliff-hanger left off. This was a seriously “can’t put it down” and “on the edge of your seat” type of book. The humor helps balance the emotional rollercoaster of the book perfectly. Romy & Kash are wonderful main characters, that are absolutely perfect together. The secondary characters are the bomb and every bit as good as the main characters, I don’t think I’ve ever loved secondary characters this much. Talia & Anna are the perfect best friends. And holy crap, Talia had me dying of laughter at times. Lynch is the perfect beta hotness & added more humor to help the craziness that Talia has going on. And then there’s Justice, his humor also adds to the flavor of the story. I absolutely can’t wait for book 3, the final one in the series!
OMG I can’t wait for part 3. This book is pee-your-pants funny, and edge of your seat action packed and riveting. I love love love Romy and Kash, but Talia is that deal, she’s my spirit animal. Talia is a sexy, funny, bada$$ who can definitely hold her own with a pack of werewolves. And let’s not forget Lynch, Justice and Anna; they brong the extra comic relief and heart to this story. I love these characters so much, they are like the Scooby Doo gang if they were cooler, sexier, and more kickass.
Hildenbrand and Shepherd didn’t pull any punches with this book. It was full throttle action and suspense, with just the right amount of funny, from the first page til the last. I eagerly await the next installment to this story. Ooh gurl this about to be so good!!! #MustReadSeriesOf2020
Once again, I’m left needing the next book! This book had me lol’ing most of the time. These girls remind me so much of my friends, & it makes it super relatable & easy to read. The incredibly hot book boyfriends don’t hurt either. Same as last time, once I picked it up, suddenly I was done cause I couldn’t put it down.

Love it. Yet another cliffhanger but so worth it. I love these characters. They make you laugh, they make you mad, they make you want to cry. I once again didn’t want to put the book down till the end. I love this series.
If you haven’t started this series yet, you are seriously missing out! These books are so freaking good! They are well written and have awesome world building. I love Romy and the gang! The things they say are glorious. And omg can I just say that I LOVE Lynch. For reals. #bookboyfriendrightthere His and Talia’s relationship was so much fun to read. I’m starting to think Talia is a legit ninja at this point…she’s hardcore. This story sucks you in from the first page and you are glued to it till the end! It’s definitely a must read!
The second book picks up right where book 1 left us dying, and just like the first this one left me wanting more! I love with Romy and Talia, I feel like we’re old friends and I cannot wait to catch up with them again. I’m dying to see what Heather and Bam have cooked up in book 3!!
