This is a wonderful addition to this series; it can be read as a standalone though so if you haven’t read the rest of the series don’t worry just jump in now. The plot is full of suspense and mystery and a definite page-turner. The characters are complicated and have great depth to them. A great read.

The Girl Who Caught Fire is book four in the series and it is a suspenseful, psychological thriller that had me reading nonstop. Chelsea (Alicia) was burnt in a fire set by Jody, Isabel and Deacon. She was left for dead but she survived and is now set on revenge. This is an intense read and with each page I turned I was captivated wondering what would happen next. This is a great addition to the series.
I haven´t read the previous books in the series but that did not impair my understanding of the story. I really enjoyed reading it, the plot keeps you hooked till the end and makes you wonder what will come next. It also made me think that relationships based on lies tend to have a bitter ending because lies tend to surface and make liars´ lives hell. Besides multiple arsons this story has a lot of deceit, crime, death and curiously love and friendship sometimes among the most unexpected characters. This is book is good entertainment !

Chelsea was burnt in a fire that was started by Jody her sister Isabel and Deacon. They left her for dead after the fire exploded throwing her out of the house. But Chelsea isn’t her real name, it is Alicia McBride. Now she can’t even light a match or be around a candle flame without the feeling of being burnt. Chelsea oddly meets Christopher and they become a couple. Chris does not know Chelsea’s past or who she is, only that she has a sister Jody that she doesn’t talk to. Actually, Chelsea isn’t a nice girl and neither is her family. She does bad things all in the name of love or revenge. Way too bizarre for me.
The fourth book in the series has Alicia set on revenge. Everyone she knows thinks she’s dead, and that’s the way she wants it. Now living under the name Chelsea, she’s working the long game. The problem? She’s fallen in love, and Christopher makes her want to be a better person. He’s everything she could want, and he’s such a good man that it’s making it hard to follow her plan. But they need to pay for what happened to her, and she will get her revenge.
This was a fun one because sometimes when you’re reading you forget that Alicia and Jody had such an awful childhood. You forget that even though she’s in love, she’s still motivated by revenge. I think that speaks highly of how well-written this is. The Girl Who Caught Fire fits in perfectly with the series. It has been a fun road to get to this point, and I cannot wait to see what lies ahead. Nicely done.
