I enjoyed the historical part of the book but the story line was predictable and unrealistic.
I liked this book a lot. It was unrealistic and predictable in some ways, but I still looked forward to picking it up.
I loved this book!! Hazel Gaynor is one of my favorite authors and this is my favorite of hers! I look forward to any new book she writes!!!!!
We all have heard stories about the Titanic but this book was like “behind the scenes” and it was great!!
Not bad. I didn’t really care about the characters, which is always a disappointment. They just didn’t seem truly alive on the page. but it’s a nice, easy retelling of the Titanic, with the twist of the village sending so many on the boat to strengthen the (attempt) at pathos.
I found it hard to keep interested. Seemed long winded.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Many twists & turns.
This book is similar to the movie, but different! It is a good read for a rainy afternoon, or anytime really. The facts are interesting, and you get a lot of insight, into the sinking of the Titanic. This is a good read.
I love reading novels based on the Titanic tragedy. This one kept me engrossed the whole time!
Loved the book, and could not put it down, read it in two days.
Great storytelling
Well researched historical novel inspired by a true story of 14 Irish immigrants that boarded the Titanic. Wonderful read!
I loved this book! It was easy to read and had believable characters. I thought the ‘rest of the story’ was interesting after the sinking of the Titanic!
a familiar subject becomes new again
Very depressing. I know the stories about people leaving Ireland but this girl was not leaving for economic reasons.
I really tried to give this book a go, but it felt uninspired and fell flat for me. I love historical fiction and Titanic stories especially, but I found myself skimming entire paragraphs waiting for the story to grip me and it never did. The writing felt cliched and generic.
shows the hopes and dreams of the immigrants that build this country
I loved how the story kept you guessing .
loved this book
Very good story. It kept my interest.
