I read this a few months ago. I was interested becuse one of my granddaughters was seriously interested in the story of the Titanic. She had even visited a museum that had pictures, etc. of this event. I enjoyed the story even though I did not know any of the characters. This was good to read for background of what possibly happened.
A fictional and historic tale about an Irish immigrant who survived the sinking of the Titanic and those she knew and lost on that fateful voyage. Now a great grandmother, Maggie shares her story with her great granddaughter Grace. I most enjoyed the dialog between Maggie and Grace. In one scene, as they’re enjoying a slice of apple pie and a cup …
This was a good read. The true story of the Titanic sinking will always be a haunting one because of the loss of so many lives, and because it could have been prevented. This book gave insight into what actual passengers may have experienced, as well as the circumstances for their travel. You know from the beginning that every character will not …
It was dull, I felt like it was a version of the movie titanic. It had potential but didn’t grab me.
A new twist on the Titanic tragedy. Great read and well constructed story
Loved this book with it’s historical surviving of the tragedy of the Titanic. It was riveting to read what happened before and after the sinking. So many events have never been dealt with. Now I feel like I know so much more than I did before.
Great history-based novel. Well written.
Hard to put down….nice mix of history and characters….sweet interaction between
Maggie and her great-grandmother….totally unexpected ending….loved it!!!
I thought it was very interesting to read about how the loved ones of those on the Titanic were affected. I really liked the twist at the end. The relationship between the great grandmother and great granddaughter was touching
I really enjoyed this book! I think we’re all fascinated by the Titanic tragedy and this story brings it to life in a new way. I was sad when it was finished!
Gets off to a slow start but really draws you in as it goes on. The modern story was not very interesting until the ending. Thankfully most of the book is set in 1912.
An endearing story with interesting characters.
I really enjoyed this book. Great story from the viewpoint of a Titanic survivor
How would I cope after surviving the sinking of the Titanic. I like reading thought provoking books.
Beautifully written book about a Titanic survivor and her her interaction with her great-granddaughter.
Great Book loved this book!!!!
Enjoyed a different perspective, the people left at home waiting for the arrival of the rescue ship. Also characters for very realistic. Enjoyed it.
I really enjoyed this book. Most of us saw Titanic and know how it ended. No surprises. These fictional characters took inside what it must have been like to travel third class. There is a big surprise at the end! Enjoy!
We all know the Titanic story, but this one is a bit different and puts a eye witness account, twist on the story.
A great story, well written
