Exceptional read. Loved the style of writing and each chapter beginning with an original Marconigram. Historical events mixed with a beautiful story.
I can’t recommend this book enough. I loved it. Great characters. I read it with my book club and everyone loved it. Starts with a group who board the Titanic and goes on to follow one member as she lives in the US. Some actual history is told about the Titanic and I found that really interesting.
3.5/5
It is so hard to review this book. Everything dealing with our 14 immigrants, our time on the ship, all the historical 1912 perspectives – amazing. Even darling Maggie in our ‘present day’ timeline – love.
Everything else just kind of… fell flat. Our modern day characters and conflicts, sorry Grace, never really connected. There was a …
Great historical fictional book. I would recommend. Reading a 2nd book by the author.
Surprise ending. I’m a Titanic freak.
Interesting twist on a story that every one knows (“Titanic”).
The story of the Titanic is a heart-wrenching piece of history. I really enjoyed this account based on some real-life characters. While we can’t truly understand what it must have been like for the people who went through this experience (those who survived) this book helps bring their stories to life.
Few stories capture our attention like the Titanic and rarely do we hear about those third class passengers sailing to a new life. A true story, this one provides a glimpse of a young lady from a small Irish village off to a new life in Chicago.
Fascinating historical fiction using the Titanic disaster to tell the story of these wonderful characters and those who survived. Really enjoyed this book!
A good read!
