Instant #1 New York Times Bestseller “The Girl on the Train has more fun with unreliable narration than any chiller since Gone Girl. . . . [It] is liable to draw a large, bedazzled readership.”—The New York Times “Like its train, the story blasts through the stagnation of these lives in suburban London and the reader cannot help but turn pages.”—The Boston Globe “Gone Girl fans will devour this … pages.”—The Boston Globe
“Gone Girl fans will devour this psychological thriller.”—People
A debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people’s lives.
Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. “Jess and Jason,” she calls them. Their life—as she sees it—is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.
And then she sees something shocking. It’s only a minute until the train moves on, but it’s enough. Now everything’s changed. Unable to keep it to herself, Rachel offers what she knows to the police, and becomes inextricably entwined in what happens next, as well as in the lives of everyone involved. Has she done more harm than good?
Compulsively readable, The Girl on the Train is an emotionally immersive, Hitchcockian thriller and an electrifying debut.

Did not like at all
A great book. I couldn’t wait to finish it. It had my mind racing until the ending. It was well worth reading.
Suspenseful book which keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Easy captivating drama
Twists and turns. Great read
Derivative of Girl Gone but not as well written. Maybe worth reading if you haven’t read prior better book.
I loved this book.
Loved this thriller
A real page turner. The characters were well developed and kept you on the edge of your seat, wanting more.
This had such a unique plot line, but missed the mark for me.
This of course was a great read with an unreliable narrator. The premise and story were great but the characters, especially the main character were unlikable.
I couldn’t put it down!
NOthing good to say about this book! Boredom! Yuk!
As soon as I heard about this book I wanted to read it, I just didn’t get the chance to buy it until this last christmas. I didn’t start to read it until this month and I don’t understand what the hell took me so long to pick it up! The story is gripping and peculiar as soon as you start it and you don’t want to set it down even for a moment. Not …
The worst book I have ever read. Amazed that they made this into a movie. None of the characters have any redeeming or likable qualities, and all have extreme mental disorders. I wasn’t surprised at the ending, it wasn’t suspenseful, and the most interesting (or normal) character was the train. When there are SO many good books out there and this …
This was a great read. Each character was interesting. It’s one of those books that I’ll want to read again in a few years! Will definitely be interested in reading more by this author
I found it very boring & the main character too self-absorbed. Couldn’t get into it.
Kinds kept you twisted so you read on and on and on…..
I enjoyed it.
It was OK. I had to force myself to finish it. I can say I didn’t figure out what was happening until more than 1/2 way through the book which is more than I can say for some books. I would not rate this as one of the best books of the decade!
