Instant #1 New York Times Bestseller “The Girl on the Train has more fun with unreliable narration than any chiller since Gone Girl. . . . [It] is liable to draw a large, bedazzled readership.”—The New York Times “Like its train, the story blasts through the stagnation of these lives in suburban London and the reader cannot help but turn pages.”—The Boston Globe “Gone Girl fans will devour this … pages.”—The Boston Globe
“Gone Girl fans will devour this psychological thriller.”—People
A debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people’s lives.
Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. “Jess and Jason,” she calls them. Their life—as she sees it—is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.
And then she sees something shocking. It’s only a minute until the train moves on, but it’s enough. Now everything’s changed. Unable to keep it to herself, Rachel offers what she knows to the police, and becomes inextricably entwined in what happens next, as well as in the lives of everyone involved. Has she done more harm than good?
Compulsively readable, The Girl on the Train is an emotionally immersive, Hitchcockian thriller and an electrifying debut.

This is a great book. I read it in one setting! It was so much better than the movie! If you love unpredictable page-turners, this one is for you!
Very dark and depressing. Did not enjoy!
Not what I expected at all, a bit slow in places, but a good read
It was just ok !
This is a great book…disappointed in the movie version!
I felt it was kind of predictable, but I enjoyed it.
I must be the only one that really didn’t like it.
Unrealistic but worthy of reading unless you have already seen the movie…. pretty much the same.
At first I didn’t like this book, but kept coming back to it and glad I did. I haven’t seen the movie, but I hope it does it justice. I love how it pulls you along and then suddenly things start locking into place.
First book I read by her.. I enjoyed reading it and look forward to get more.
If you liked Gone Girl you’ll love this book
This was not a favorite.
This book was a page turner that constantly kept you guessing until the end
Not well written, boring!
I have to say I was intrigued. I also recommended it to friends.
Could not put this book down –wanted to know more.
I read a BBC review on this book which indicated it should have been titled “A Girl with no Brain”. Sums it up. Silly book of a silly women doing incredibly silly things.
Boring
Bought the book in London – loved it- I recommend it
