Instant #1 New York Times Bestseller “The Girl on the Train has more fun with unreliable narration than any chiller since Gone Girl. . . . [It] is liable to draw a large, bedazzled readership.”—The New York Times “Like its train, the story blasts through the stagnation of these lives in suburban London and the reader cannot help but turn pages.”—The Boston Globe “Gone Girl fans will devour this … pages.”—The Boston Globe
“Gone Girl fans will devour this psychological thriller.”—People
A debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people’s lives.
Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. “Jess and Jason,” she calls them. Their life—as she sees it—is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.
And then she sees something shocking. It’s only a minute until the train moves on, but it’s enough. Now everything’s changed. Unable to keep it to herself, Rachel offers what she knows to the police, and becomes inextricably entwined in what happens next, as well as in the lives of everyone involved. Has she done more harm than good?
Compulsively readable, The Girl on the Train is an emotionally immersive, Hitchcockian thriller and an electrifying debut.

I enjoyed the twists and turns of this story. The author did a good job of keeping you guessing.
This was a strange and different read for me, and I didn’t really love it, but, I could not put it down for a reason I don’t understand, but, I finished it still thinking it was strange. Never read a book like it before.
I think everyone has probably read this book by now. If you haven’t, go out and get it. You won’t regret it.
This was a good book but it was difficult to get into. I had to re-read pages several times during the book to understand what exactly was happening in the story.
While it is an exceptionally well-written book, I had difficulty finishing it due to my dislike of the main character. That is the only reason I did not give it a better rating. It was difficult to empathize with the protagonist.
The Girl on the Train
Overall, I really liked the book. It reminded me of the old Alfred Hitchcock movies. But I was able to predict the identity of the murderer a few scenes before the book did the unveiling.
I didn’t like ANY of the characters
This was a fast paced good real, if your looking for a book that will grab you from the start and keep you reading till the last page. This is the book your looking for.
This was a strange book. All the characters are just messed up. I don’t normally read psychological thrillers, so it’s probably just not my bag.
Jumped the shark but kept me reading
Didn’t keep me interestec in reading till the end so i just deleted it.
I didn’t like anything about this book.
Good book to read. Sad character. Led or had no life,
Wonderful book! Kept me reading until the end, wanting to see how it finished!
Had trouble with book holding my intrest.
loved the book and movie
I hated the main female character. I couldn’t get past her alcoholic whining.
It’s well-written and entertaining. But I saw the twist a mile away, so I can’t say it was much of a mystery.
Couldn’t put it down. Didn’t even want to see the movie after reading this book. Never knew what was going to happen next and I am pretty good at seeing plots and knowing endings. Not on this one! A Must Read!
i could not tell what would happen next
