Instant #1 New York Times Bestseller “The Girl on the Train has more fun with unreliable narration than any chiller since Gone Girl. . . . [It] is liable to draw a large, bedazzled readership.”—The New York Times “Like its train, the story blasts through the stagnation of these lives in suburban London and the reader cannot help but turn pages.”—The Boston Globe “Gone Girl fans will devour this … pages.”—The Boston Globe
“Gone Girl fans will devour this psychological thriller.”—People
A debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people’s lives.
Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. “Jess and Jason,” she calls them. Their life—as she sees it—is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.
And then she sees something shocking. It’s only a minute until the train moves on, but it’s enough. Now everything’s changed. Unable to keep it to herself, Rachel offers what she knows to the police, and becomes inextricably entwined in what happens next, as well as in the lives of everyone involved. Has she done more harm than good?
Compulsively readable, The Girl on the Train is an emotionally immersive, Hitchcockian thriller and an electrifying debut.

This is a fast read. Keeps your attention, although I often found myself angry at the main character!!!!
Truly thrilling and twisty!
I couldn’t put this book down and ended up reading it through to the end in just three days. A real page turner of a book.
Totally overrated!
Really a page turner…very hard to put down
Honestly I hated the book until I saw the movie. I stopped the book about 1/3 through. After I saw the movie the book made sense and I read it.
Absolutely recommend this book!! Love the characters!!
Loved it. Great tead.
Unreadable
A bit over rated in my opinion.
This book was really enjoyable. You can guess as to how the book will turn out but there is still a bit of a twist.
Engaging but not my kind of book
Diverting but wildly overrated. It seems to be the big title of the last several years with book after book having the the word Woman in their title.
I liked the book but found it a little hard to follow.
I liked this book a lot however there were quite a few slow parts in between the moments that kept me turning the pages. Stay with it and it pays off!!
Kept me on the edge…
This book really kept you guessing.
This book kept me on the edge of my seat. I could not put it down and was going through a time in my life (not with Rachel’s personal issues) but where I could relate to her character. Books come to us in Divine timing and The Girl on a Train was very timely for me.
Great characters, a story that drags you in & won’t let go!
Well written and I couldn’t put the book down. A great read.
