Instant #1 New York Times Bestseller “The Girl on the Train has more fun with unreliable narration than any chiller since Gone Girl. . . . [It] is liable to draw a large, bedazzled readership.”—The New York Times “Like its train, the story blasts through the stagnation of these lives in suburban London and the reader cannot help but turn pages.”—The Boston Globe “Gone Girl fans will devour this … pages.”—The Boston Globe
“Gone Girl fans will devour this psychological thriller.”—People
A debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people’s lives.
Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. “Jess and Jason,” she calls them. Their life—as she sees it—is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.
And then she sees something shocking. It’s only a minute until the train moves on, but it’s enough. Now everything’s changed. Unable to keep it to herself, Rachel offers what she knows to the police, and becomes inextricably entwined in what happens next, as well as in the lives of everyone involved. Has she done more harm than good?
Compulsively readable, The Girl on the Train is an emotionally immersive, Hitchcockian thriller and an electrifying debut.

I had a hard time understanding this book. Then I watched the movie and it filled in the blanks.
Boring
Found this book a bit confusing. Can’t understand all the reviews that just RAVE about it. I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t love it.
This book drew me in right away! I couldn’t put it down!
I loved this book!
Did not care for all the f bombs. Totally unnecessary in literature. It totally debases and dumbs down the art.
This book was enthralling. The end was totally unexpected! The characters are written in such a way that you don’t particularly like them, but find them interesting. There are plots within the plot and the secrets that come out lead to a thrilling end.
i hated this book. i did not get past the first 100 pages….which is rare for me. i usually will stick out any book, but i just couldn’t keep going iwth this one. the mai character was not interesting and i had no interst in her. the “action” was incredibly boring and slow. i just gave up and quit it. i have had lthers tell me the same thing.
Pretty slow start, and I found the characters wholly unlikeable, but it picked up halfway through and really finished strong
wierd
Loved it! Much better than the movie.
A different story told well. I enjoyed it.
Kept you on the seat of your pants, didn’t see the ending coming. Really twisted but you wanted to keep reading.
the next Gone Girl?
It was just ok. Went on too long, too repetitive w/the main character’s so sad life. Really couldn’t sympathize w/her.
First half was confusing but stick with it as the second half is good and pulls it all together
Thought it was slow in the beginning, and almost put it down. Since I actually bought the book, I thought better of it and kept going. Good decision on my part…wound up enjoying the story and characters.
This is the story of a woman named Rachel who rides a train in London to and from work everyday. Same train every day back and forth to work. There is a stop on the train line where she can see a house where a young couple lives. Just about every day she sees this couple – being loving to each other, and wonders what their lives are like. She …
Fascinating getting into the characters then questioning yourself.
Wonderful. Kept me guessing.
