Instant #1 New York Times Bestseller “The Girl on the Train has more fun with unreliable narration than any chiller since Gone Girl. . . . [It] is liable to draw a large, bedazzled readership.”—The New York Times “Like its train, the story blasts through the stagnation of these lives in suburban London and the reader cannot help but turn pages.”—The Boston Globe “Gone Girl fans will devour this … pages.”—The Boston Globe
“Gone Girl fans will devour this psychological thriller.”—People
A debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people’s lives.
Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. “Jess and Jason,” she calls them. Their life—as she sees it—is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.
And then she sees something shocking. It’s only a minute until the train moves on, but it’s enough. Now everything’s changed. Unable to keep it to herself, Rachel offers what she knows to the police, and becomes inextricably entwined in what happens next, as well as in the lives of everyone involved. Has she done more harm than good?
Compulsively readable, The Girl on the Train is an emotionally immersive, Hitchcockian thriller and an electrifying debut.

Definitely not as good as I thought it would be.
Bored. Couldn’t finish it. To each their own.
I loved it.
Great read!
Not my genre.
Great reading……
i DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BOOK. i DO NOT KNOW PEOPLE LIKE THAT. tHE MYSTERY WAS INTERESTING IN HOW IT GOT SOLVED,BUT THE CHARACTERS LEFT ME WISHING i HAD NOT MET THEM! oR WASTING THE TIME READING ABOUT THEM!
Loved story line but not crazy about split narration
It was pretty good but not great. Slow
It was very difficult for me to follow this story, too much flipping back-and-forth between characters, time and places
I did not read the book, my husband and listened to the book on our way to work. Very good.
Slow in parts but stick with it –
For all the hype a very simplistic story
One of the worst books I have ever read. Really! Dreadful characters. I’m not talking about the craftmanship but the subject matter.
Wierd, despicable characters
This novel did keep me at the edge of my seat for about 3/4 of the way through, but once I made my first guess about the plot twist towards the end, I lost some interest. Unfortunately, I did find out that my assumptions were correct, but it was still a great read. I’m hoping it’s because I catch on fast and not the result of an incredibly …
If you like mysteries with a twist, then you will like this book. It’s in the same style as Gone Girl. Very entertaining read.
Amazing story and frightening in an everyday living sort of way. You never really know what’s going on in a neighbors house. Don’t always believe what you think you see. Great story.
great read!
I bought this book on hype and it paid off. I was thoroughly engrossed and entertained, even though I thought the protagonist was basically an unsympathetic, self-pitying victim at first.
