Instant #1 New York Times Bestseller “The Girl on the Train has more fun with unreliable narration than any chiller since Gone Girl. . . . [It] is liable to draw a large, bedazzled readership.”—The New York Times “Like its train, the story blasts through the stagnation of these lives in suburban London and the reader cannot help but turn pages.”—The Boston Globe “Gone Girl fans will devour this … pages.”—The Boston Globe
“Gone Girl fans will devour this psychological thriller.”—People
A debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people’s lives.
Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. “Jess and Jason,” she calls them. Their life—as she sees it—is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.
And then she sees something shocking. It’s only a minute until the train moves on, but it’s enough. Now everything’s changed. Unable to keep it to herself, Rachel offers what she knows to the police, and becomes inextricably entwined in what happens next, as well as in the lives of everyone involved. Has she done more harm than good?
Compulsively readable, The Girl on the Train is an emotionally immersive, Hitchcockian thriller and an electrifying debut.

Could not put this book down. Well written, plot twists, and believable charters.
I feel like this wasted my time. No one in the book is likable, and I couldn’t care less what happened to any of them.
I can only say a couple of things about this book that have not already been said. I read the book in two days, and I knew who did it (committed the murder) immediately. I will also concur with other reviewers that have said they didn’t like the characters, their self-absorption, their multitude of flaws and sameness of voice, their self-pity, …
This was so good. it was made into a movie! READ THE BOOK FIRST AND
ENJOY THE EXCELLENT WRITING, THE SUSPENSE AND THE ENDING!!!
Then you can go and also enjoy the movie! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!

Couldn’t get into this book! Movie was good!
Felt like this girl needed to get a life!
Loved this book. It was hard to put down.
Great book written by someone who understands how to create an unreliable narrator. Hideous movie. Singer of a book.
Great Novel. A page turner that I couldn’t put down.
Just hated it, felt it was contrived and whole book club felt same
I wasn’t as crazy about this book as every one else has been I really did not like the main character.
Really great, would recommend for a quick read. better than the movie
This book was “pretty good,” but I don’t understand why it has been on the top of the best seller list for so long. Maybe that made my expectations too high. The first part was just a whiny woman whining about her loss of job, loss of husband, her alcoholism, and her own extreme whiny-ness. I nearly quit reading it after a couple chapters. Then …
I love the book it was very good could not put it down read it in two days love it.
Couldn’t put it down!
3.5 stars.
I got wrapped up in this book from the first chapter. Quite a mystery to be solved and it doesn’t play out at all as you would expect. A great read!
