Instant #1 New York Times Bestseller “The Girl on the Train has more fun with unreliable narration than any chiller since Gone Girl. . . . [It] is liable to draw a large, bedazzled readership.”—The New York Times “Like its train, the story blasts through the stagnation of these lives in suburban London and the reader cannot help but turn pages.”—The Boston Globe “Gone Girl fans will devour this … pages.”—The Boston Globe
“Gone Girl fans will devour this psychological thriller.”—People
A debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people’s lives.
Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. “Jess and Jason,” she calls them. Their life—as she sees it—is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.
And then she sees something shocking. It’s only a minute until the train moves on, but it’s enough. Now everything’s changed. Unable to keep it to herself, Rachel offers what she knows to the police, and becomes inextricably entwined in what happens next, as well as in the lives of everyone involved. Has she done more harm than good?
Compulsively readable, The Girl on the Train is an emotionally immersive, Hitchcockian thriller and an electrifying debut.

One of the best books that I have read.
Couldn’t put it down.
Highly recommended
Picked it for our book club. Loved it. Some said it was confusing. Most liked it a lot.
This was a twisty novel. At times i liked it and at other times I didn’t . It is original and hard to describe.
Excellent use of an unreliable narrator. Yes, she’s a drunkard, but is she hysterical or onto something? But what is that something? Great twists and far superior to the film, which in inexplicably relocated to the US suburbs. (?)
Twists and turns, loved the book – and also saw the movie.
meh. I found it difficult to follow and I found I didn’t really care about any of the characters. Could have put it down at any time and never picked it up again without wondering how it ended.
Not my cup of tea.
A haunting story that kept me interested.
Did not really like.
Good awful book. I’m still ticked off I paid $28 for this turkey. Live through the eyes of a fall down drunk. Just bad. Don’t waste your time and money.
Definitely had twists that I was not expecting. Great book!
This is a book I stayed up all night reading. Once I was into it, I could not put it down until I knew “who done it”! It is a great mystery story!
I loved this book. Read it twice. So many twists and turns. I would highly recommend this book.
I absolutely loved this book!
I didn’t like this read. It was confusing at times. Maybe I just wanted something where I didn’t have to think so much.
Such a surprise!
This book was very deep had a surprise ending but I figured it out, a little weird for me
Great read.
My wife read this and enjoyed it. She said it was a good mystery.
I loved this one. Kept me on the edge of my seat from page one. I couldn’t put it down!
