In his newest heart-pounding suspense novel, #1 New York Times bestselling author Terry Goodkind introduces the world to his most unforgettable and deadly character yet.Angela Constantine is a girl born broken. When Angela was young, before she came to realize she had a rare ability, she was a rather ordinary girl. At least, that was what everyone said. But Angela is anything but ordinary. The … is anything but ordinary. The daughter of a meth addict, she is convinced she was born a freak. Haunted by an abusive childhood, she was forced to become a woman far too soon. And in the process, she became more.
Angela Constantine has a secret life.
Angela juggles multiple jobs to live a secluded life in a cabin in the mountains. But she also lives a secret life, right under everyone’s noses. Because her family’s bloodline carries the ability to recognize killers, she adopts a solitary, violent existence in service of her own, personal mission in life. When Angela unexpectedly finds herself the prey of a group of international terrorists, she is the only one who knows the truth of what they are about to do. She might look like an unlikely hero. She might also be our only hope.
Angela Constantine is . . .The Girl in the Moon.

Terry Goodkind writes suspense with a slight fantastic edge, and the result is a fresh, compelling thriller. The Girl in the Moon contains concepts I wish had occurred to me. This is pure entertainment, a true page-turner, and great fun.
From an author best known for the outstanding Sword of Truth Fantasy series comes something set in the here and now. His newest heroine has some very dark secrets and some even darker abilities. Hunting killers is our Dark Angels calling. And boy does she like it. Endowed with the ability to recognize a killer when looking into their eyes The Girl in the Moon offers no mercy to her prey, only retribution.
This novel had a very Koontz feel to me. Or King. Its in that category. A very well paced thriller with great character building. Tense and dark with that bit of unkown supernatural, but, not overdone. Great read.
I know this author for the sword of true series and have never read his others romans. It took me a while to read it all but overall I really loved it.
Angela have a rare ability, she can recognize killers. One day, she finds herself at the hands of a group of international terrorists. Angela manage to survive. But now she might be the only one who can stop their plans.
Horrible. Someone told him this is what a mystery paranormal was. They were wrong.
This book was a page tuner from the beginning. If you like the sword of truth books, you will like this different twist by the same author.
This is one of the best books in this genre I have read! Only thing to say is READ IT!
I have been a Terry Goodkind fan since reading his epic fantasy series, The Sword of Truth, but never ventured a title by him outside of that series…until now. The Girl in the Moon is a complete 180 degree departure from The Sword of Truth, BUT there are similarities in his precise writing and how he writes his female characters.
Right from the beginning of the book, I knew I was in for more strong writing from Terry Goodkind who has a unique ability to balance description and character development within an Action-Adventure story. His writing draws a reader in and immediately plops you in the middle of the action. To illustrate this, the first paragraph sets up everything,
“When Angela glanced up and saw him out in the parking lot beyond the neon beer sign hung in the bar’s small front window, her first thought was to wonder if this was the night she was going to die.”
The Girl in the Moon is the story of Angela Constantine, who as a girl comes from a rough family life (or lack of it) filled with abuse, a meth-adict mother, and many issues. But all of this is key to understanding how she evolves into the kick-ass, strong character she becomes in this book. She is an unlikely hero, but a hero nonetheless. And I LOVED it!
A final note: There are some rough scenes, like a gang rape and intense violence, so this book is not for all readers.
Hoping to be able to afford the next one soon.
refreshingly original and fast paced story of a very admirable character
While this book is fast-paced and engrossing in concept, it is extremely violent and unnecessarily gruesome. Perhaps the dispassionate view of goriness and sadistic acts is supposed to reinforce the shocking emergence of a serial killing do-gooder, but I was put off by it to the point of rooting for nothing and no one except the end of the book. I cannot recommend reading this mish-mash of savagery, whatever the author was trying to convey.
too graphic
Terry Goodkind’s new series has no magic or prophecy, but character who have been blessed (or cursed) with the gift to look into the eyes of a killer and recognize what he/she is to varying degrees. Unfortunately, some of these predators also have the ability to recognize those that see them. And as this ability is a genetic trait, they have been systematically wiping out entire families, some of whom aren’t even aware they have this ability.
Jack Raines seems to be the only one who has the ability to recognize these people who can recognize killers, and has been trying to help them hone skills and keep them alive. He had been working with the US Government to help find terrorists, until the politicians and their ridiculous politically correct policies, closed the department and now Jack works with the Mossad. Jack also has the ability to puzzle out disconnected information and put it together.
Angela Constantine thinks she is broken, because her mother had been a junkie and she doesn’t know who her father is, but she inherited her ability from her grandparents, who think she is special and teach her skills to keep her alive, until they are murdered. leaving her all alone.
When she unwittingly becomes a target of terrorist, bent on blowing up “the Great Satan”, it will take Angela and Jack to save the day, despite the interference of the politically motivated FBI and Homeland Security.
To get the most enjoyment out of this book, schedule a few hours when you won’t be disturbed, because you will not want to put the book down and will not appreciate any interruptions. An overcast or rainy day will only add to the mood. If the author and Vince Flynn would have been able to collaborate, Jack Raines and Mitch Rapp would have made a dynamic team. One con- several paragraphs seemed to have been repeated, unnecessarily in the book.
I enjoyed most of the Sword of Truth series by this author and was curious about his foray into a different genre. This is awful; let me count the ways: 1. it is repetitive to the point you are midway through the 4th paragraph in 2 pages saying exactly the same thing and your mind drifts off wondering if he is getting paid by the page, 2. The writing is bad, both lacking in description and offering conflicting descriptions within sentences of each other, 3. the characters are all cardboard cutouts with no depth or developed motivations for their behaviors, 4. the ‘telling’…and telling and telling again…rather than showing, 4. others have complained of the violence – I have no particular problem with violence but this goes beyond being offensive since it is child rape – repeated, violent child rape with so little development in the writing of it again and again that I wondered if he was gleefully getting off while writing it, 5. what little development of the main character there is, rings false – Angela is abused in ways that would lead to catatonic psychosis in most, but now she takes joy, thrills, and orgasmic excitement in slowly killing others. This is a woman described in a way that only a male fantasy could design because women know this makes no sense. She is a sick psychotic killer.
Unless you like that kind of thing, skip this one.
To violent for me.
Pretty good story but could have been better without political leanings.
too much raping!
I have always liked This author. With that in mind this is a different story than I normally read of his. This book was fantastic. I couldn’t sleep until I finished this book. It was amazing and spell binding. Thank you for a good read
Really well written and unusual. Very fast moving and haRd to put down.
Stopped reading at gory description of justice as meted out by the (anti)heroine. Can’t get behind her or past that. Deleted from my device.
As a rabid fan of The Sword of Truth series, I was surprised and not sure what to think of this book. Angela looks into eyes and knows if the person is a killer or not. If so, she kills them, and she really likes it.
Trained by her grandfather to shoot and use a knife, she is basically a killing machine. Graphic descriptions of the killings and how much Angela lives for it.
Probably won’t appeal to a lot of readers. There is a prequel, but no sequel, yet.
