I have such a long To Be Read list that it is very unusual for me to read a book twice but that is exactly what happened here. I was a little way into reading this when I realised I’d read it before. But by that time I was so into the story that I just kept reading.I loved watching how Tess snd Amanda changed as the story progressed towards a very satisfying ending.
Faith Hogan writes with skill and sensitivity and this was well worth a second read. Looking forward to reading more from this talented author.
Good read.
This story helps us remember that we are all humans with needs, troubles, loneliness and sorrows and that when we open up to others we heal each other.
I took my time reading this book, a few chapters here, a few there. The characters drew me in and even though it took awhile, the payoff at the end was Well worth it! Relatable characters, charming setting and a few twists and turns you may not see see coming.
After watching the news every day I love to read a happily ever after story with interesting characters.
I enjoyed reading “The Girl I Used to Know.”
A true to life journey of self fullfillment, friendship, and forgiveness. The chapters are broken up nicely, so it is an easy book to put down and then pick up again. I found the main character’s situations to be thought provoking.
I enjoyed how the two women became friends and the direction their lives took.
first rate reading
I loved this book and all others written by Faith Hogan.
If you like Maeve Binchy, you’ll love this! Hated the book to end and leave these women.
Very different.
Really enjoyed the writing and the characters. Fun to read and a page turner for me!
I could not put this book down. About two sisters lives told in then and now. Each of their stories unfolds so beautifully, so naturally. It was easy to follow and be apart of their lives. Secrets unfold all the way to the end. I cried when it ended. I wanted it to go on. Such a wonderful story. It was my first Faith Hogan book. And I can’t wait to read the next one. I highly recommend this book!!
This book had a good story line, but it didn’t really come to life for me. OK for me, but not great.
Two strangers in one house that were enemies, but found they had so much more to connect them. It was a quick read and I found the story to be “thick” enough to feel worthy of my time.
Excellent book. The characters were endearing and heartwarming. Could not put it down. Highly recommend
I enjoyed the female characters
I loved this book. The characters are so real, it makes me want to be their friend. Very well written, a great story. Lovely.
I completely enjoyed this book. Sometimes it was just hard to keep going back to years past but I would definitely recommend it.
I didn’t think this was my kind of book, but I actually Loved it!
Very good intertwined story lines. Was sad when it ended.
