She wants one night, he wants forever. Waking up naked next to a good looking man is not a bad way to start the day. The problem? This hottie is Hank, her best friend’s older brother, who she’s known her entire life. Stopping after one night is the right thing to do. Being with him clearly breaks the best friend code. From his career as a Naval officer to his Boy Scout reputation, everything … everything about him screams monogamy and commitment… two things Paisley has had enough of.
When Hank presents a “no strings attached” offer, it’s too good to be true. But, poor choices force her to confront old fears of love and loss, and Paisley has to decide if Hank is worth the risk. The alternative is never experiencing the real deal. Or far worse, settling for less.

Paisley married young, supported her husband through med school, then found out that he had used her to get through school, had been cheating on her regularly and once he was a doctor, filed for a divorce. Between that and the death of her beloved father when she was in high school, she doesn’t trust her choices (her grandmother had offered her money NOT to marry Trevor) or love and wants to spend some time dating. However, the book begins with her waking up in bed with Hank, brother of her best friend Gigi, and also a good friend. She has always had a secret crush on him, but little does she know that the feelings were mutual. Hank agrees to a friends with benefits relationship, though clearly he would like it to be more, but she needs to experience what she missed by marrying too young. She goes on a few really bad dates and realizes that Hank is the only one she really wants to be with, but not reading him well at all, she believes that he wants to keep things simple. When she finally comes to her senses, he is so angry at her thinking that he tells her she is not the girl he fell for when they were kids and walk out on her. Knowing her almost her entire life, what she has been through and how he has always been there for her, his reaction is crazy (PTSD?). Will she be able to convinced him that she really is the girl for him?
This is the first book in the series. Since I actually read the third book first, it appears that the books are all about the same group of friends, happening simultaneously, but focused on one woman at a time. I found this a novel approach. The Girl He Wants, now makes a lot more sense to me.
Fun and Flirty. Excellent debut novel from Kristi Rose. Mostly fun and light hearted, with just enough suspense to pull the heartstrings.
Hank and Paisley will have you laughing all throughout this story. Paisley finds herself in a limbo where she is in need of a redo for her life after divorcing. Hank is a standup guy someone you would want to have in your life and Paisley realizes her mistake when she wakes up next to him following an intimate night together. They agree to a no strings attach relationship that is anything but. This is a refreshing story with scenarios that imitate real life and draws you in and keeps you caught up in the dram of the characters!
Friends to Lovers.
Not sure about this one. Wanted to knock their heads together. Why couldn’t Hank be clear about what he wanted rather than laid back? When he finally tells her his feelings, he rejects her! Not a book I will re-read.
Loved this book! Hank was amazing. He was supportive and trying to be the man Paisley needed even when she didn’t truly know what she needed. He tried to take things at her pace to keep her comfortable. I was glad to see him stand up to her. and I absolutely love the last scene of the book… “Don’t you dare say it!” This story was full of heart, friendship, self-discovery, and love. Can’t wait for the rest of the series!
Another exciting read from Kristi Rose, who writes stories that are real and full of compassion and wisdom. The Girl He Knows is a sweet and sexy read centering around Paisley, a new divorcee and her best friend’s brother, Hank, a sexy and swoon worthy alpha male. Hank and Paisley have a history and it is revealed throughout the book, allowing the reader to delve into their past and understand their present. The chemistry between Hank and Paisley is filled with fun, flirtatious behavior, humorous banter and of course, sexiness. What happens to a girl who gives up on love because she fears loss? Paisley is on the road to answering that question with the help of Hank and her besties, Gigi, Jayne, Samantha, Kenley and Josie. Her journey is one of self realization and does not come without bumps in the road. This book is full of fear, pain and loss. It is also full of love, friendship and healing strength. Do yourself a favor and pick up this well written book, you won’t be sorry. This was my second read from Kristi Rose and I am most definitely “hooked.”
