Her fight begins the day the world ends.
Scarlett Fisher is an average California teenager. She likes hanging out with her friends and talking on the phone. She does all right at school, and she’s made the best of her parents’ divorce. But in one way, she’s special: on her fifteenth birthday, a fast-moving plague wipes out everyone she’s ever known, yet somehow it passes her by.
Her family … by.
Her family dead, alone in a corpse-strewn metropolis, she has no choice but to survive. She needs food, shelter, a safe place to sleep. She discovers that an ordinary girl is capable of extraordinary things, and that she’s more resilient than she imagined. Even so, she wishes more than anything that she could just find another survivor.
Unfortunately for Scarlett, not everyone who survived the plague is looking for companionship. And she’s about to find out just how difficult survival really is.

This was a young adult book but I am 78 and enjoyed it very much. It was under 200 pages and that was ok. I think the way it unfolded was more original than some others of this type. Not a lot of violence but in a way believeable. I think something like this could happen.
This book is a little different. I hadn’t thought of the type of virus she witnessed. Plus, I love anything with a girl and a motorcycle. Go ahead, give it a try, you just might be surprised.
Never give up. Great read.
It is, as they say, a real page turner.
YA but even a 67 year-old found this to be a good book.
Good read took take your mind off ….. whatever bothers you. I enjoyed it a lot!
This is the first book of this theme I’ve ever read. It was good and a good introduction to this type of story. Had a good ending.
I was very impressed with the author’s ability to get inside the head of his female teen protagonist.
Fairly well written and interesting. Would read more by this author.
Entertaining. Clean. Some surprising parts. Some predictable parts. Overall recommend.
This was an excellent post apocalyptic book written for young adults but enjoyable to older adults too
Enjoyed this more than I thought I would. Despite the main character being young, her actions seemed well thought out. She makes a couple of mistakes along the way, also believable for a regular young person with no real life experiences.
Good read
What do you say about a story of a young girl caught in the middle of an extinction level event (ELE)? She is a survivor when trapped in an almost never ending nightmare. I applaud the author for originality.
Another strong woman great read
Very enjoyable read. Well developed characters that make you care about their outcome.
Easy to read and quite interesting.
This book was action packed with lots of twists and turns. Very entertaining.
Nice take on the end of the world. Thought provoking for sure!
Really enjoyed this book. Wish the author would write more and make this a series.
I recommend this book despite the fact that there was a narrative lull after the first chapters; but keep reading, the pace and events pick up.
