Amateur sleuth, PI in training, ghost whisperer. That’s me. Audrey Fitzgerald, ghost detective. I’m finally coming to terms with the fact that I can not only communicate with ghosts, but animals too. Well, one in particular, my big gray teddy bear of a cat, Thor. What I haven’t worked out yet is how to keep my newfound abilities a secret from the townsfolk of Firefly Bay.When I’m hired by the … Bay.
When I’m hired by the president of the local historical society to find a missing necklace, I figured I finally had a case that didn’t require ghostly interference. After all, how hard could it be to find a missing piece of jewelry? Things turn complicated real fast when the necklace turns up in the most unexpected of places and my client turns up dead.
Now I’m up to my neck in ghostly chatter, I have a murder to solve, my PI exams are looming, I’m worried I may have to put Thor on a diet, and I think I’ve accidentally fallen for Captain Cowboy Hot Pants—aka, Detective Kade Galloway. But worst of all? What on earth do I put on my business card without scaring off the townsfolk? Amateur sleuth, PI in training, ghost whisperer, or ghost detective?

Fantastic read!
A fast paced paranormal mystery that has so many twists and turns, so many suspects, that this one will keep you guessing right to the very end! Well thought out and well written. Had me laughing to tears at times! Loved every minute of it!
Audrey has a new case, and a date for her Private Investigator Exam. It is a simple case of a missing necklace, that the client thinks was stolen by someone she knows. But things are never simple with Audrey. She might not be the most graceful person, but she solves her case and there are lots of laughs along the way.
Humor, witty writing and entertaining characters. Love this series and the author always has a wonderful plot. I am volunteering reviewing an arc gifted by the author with no obligation
This series just gets better and better. The story is fast-paced and entertaining in every way. It’s a light-hearted, story that can be read in a couple of days. There is a lot going on in this one that kept me glued to the pages, and if I had to put it down all I could think about was getting back to the story. That’s when I know I’ve found a story that I’ll read over and over again. I highly recommend this one, but the series should be read in order so you don’t miss out on any of the fun.
The Ghost is Clear, the third novel in the Ghost Detective series, is a fun, quirky read. Audrey Fitzgerald, ghost detective extraordinaire, is a busy girl. Not only is she studying for her upcoming PI exam with her boyfriend, detective Kade Galloway, but she has also been hired by the president of the local Historical Society to solve the mystery of a missing necklace. With Ben, her best friend, (did I mention he’s a ghost?) by her side, she can’t fell. Unfortunately, her client turns up murdered. This is another great cozy mystery by author Jane Hinchey. Though they are stand alone, you get so much more out of them if you read them from the beginning.
Interesting characters and a good storyline.
This series just continues to get better and better!! I absolutely love each mystery that is solved in each book. But more than that, I love the development of the characters over the series!! I also love that it continues to have a great blend of humor, romance, sadness and sass along with the mystery. So much energy and emotion in a series… I love it!!
I love The Ghost is Clear! This is a fun and engaging mystery. I love the quirky characters. The mystery has many twists and turns to keep you guessing until the end. I could not put the book down. This book is entertaining, humorous, mysterious and action packed. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next book in the series.
A very clever mystery with ghosts!
The Ghost is Clear by Jane Hinchey has several mysteries, ghosts, a hot cop, A clumsy PI, and a talking cat. It’s a fun and enjoyable read! This is book three in the series!
Audrey Fitzgerald, her ghostly best friend/private investigator, Ben, and the always hungry cat, Thor are on another exciting mystery regarding a missing necklace and a murder at the local historical society event. Audrey is up to her neck in trouble along with studying for her PI exam, an overweight cat, and being in a hot romance with Detective Kade Galloway. Audrey and Ben believe the murder and the necklace theft are linked with several other crimes, so they must find out who is behind the mayhem in Firefly Bay Museum in this twisty new adventure.
This third installment is a fun lighthearted read that I have enjoyed in the previous two books. The characters are quirky with a sharp sarcastic sense of humor. Audrey is a fun and smart woman, when she is not thinking about Detective Galloway. Ben is a great addition in this group, only Audrey can hear him and he does provide a good dose of common sense when Audrey goes off the rails during the investigation. Detective Kade Galloway is a great boyfriend for Audrey’s crazy romantic ideas that sets the stage for some funny romantic scenes that are a staple in this series.
This book continues with the trademark snappy conversations that are in the first two books. Audrey does have some work to do to become a skilled private investigator even with Ben and Kade’s help. Ms. Hinchey does character development well, so I look forward to seeing Audrey becoming a more confident and successful investigator in future reads.
This series is a great fun addictive read that is highly entertaining with interesting and spirited characters. I cannot wait for the fourth adventure of Audrey and her crew. I hope to see a book set of this series so readers can read all these crazy mysteries of Audrey Fitzgerald and the citizens of Firefly Bay over a long weekend. I was given an ARC for an honest review.
Audrey’s character is great through each book and with The Ghost is Clear she’s finaly coming to tearms with her abilities, but all the while having to hide them and juggle her attraction towards Detective Kade. Her new mystery of finding a missing necklace makes into a new murder mystery to solve with Thor and the help of the ghosts.
I couldn’t stop reading this book! It was so funny! Even when she finds her client dead it’s still funny because the client’s ghost is making it funny. Plus Ben, her ghost BFF, is just hilarious and pops in at the most inappropriate times. The taser scene, omg, I laughed so hard I gave myself a coughing fit! Everyone, read this book! You will love it!
The Ghost Is Clear is the third book in the Ghost Detective series by Jane Hinchey.
Audrey is investigating a missing necklace when she finds a body. The story was really interesting and it kept me guessing until the end.
I really enjoy this series. The friendship between Audrey and Ben is entertaining. They make a great, though unusual, team. The relationship between Galloway and Audrey is fun. When he gave her the gift, I knew something would happen. I laughed out loud when it did. And Thor and his complaining about his food bowl reminds me of my cats.
Loved the book. The characters are really coming into their own in this book. I love how Jane Hinchy incorporates humor, mystery, and the occasional romance in her series. Each book gets better than the last.
I received an ARC of this book for my honest review.
Another great entertaining read! I laughed out loud a few times in this book. There’s a mystery that kept me guessing and plenty of action with great characters and a romance. If you’re looking for a clean cozy mystery to escape in, I would recommend this series.

This is a great series, one that I have loved from the very first book! A well written story of a PI that can talk to ghosts and also animals including her cat! Love the storyline, love the characters especially Audrey and I love the mysteries she has to solve. A fun read that had me laughing out loud on more then one occasion . There’s action, adventure, suspense, mystery and humour and I loved every minute of it!
On a case at the Firefly Bay Museum Audrey Fitzgerald of Delaney Investigations, along with her ghost best friend, Ben, has been hired by Anita Finley to find a missing diamond necklace. In the middle of their case, when she and Ben find a body Audrey calls “Captain Cowboy Hotpants,” better known as Detective Kade Galloway her newly minted boyfriend. Although Galloway is the detective in charge of investigating the death that does not stop Audrey from continuing her search for the necklace. Who knew the cases would intersect? I love, charming, klutzy Audrey and her best ghost friend. Learning on the job to become a true PI is as hard as she imagines, but Audrey is up to the challenge. This is my honest, voluntary review of an advanced reader copy of this book.
I just love reading this series. Each one is unique.
Jane Hinchey is such a amazing author. I highly recommend reading any or all of her books. I love the character of Audrey. Can’t wait to read more in this series of books…
This book kept me in stitches. Audrey, Captain Cowboy Hotpants (I love that nickname) and Ben make a great team. I love how supportive Kade is with Audrey. He continues to surprise her. This story has a mystery within a murder with lots of twists. The storyline is highly creative, entertaining and with makes you laugh out loud. I can’t recommend this book or even the whole series enough. I didn’t want it to end. If you enjoy cozy mysteries and like humor, this one is for you.
I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily reviewed it.
Oh goodness, I could not stop laughing my way through this book! Loved the feeling that this story was taking place at Halloween! You’re going to have to see if I was right in my thinking or not. It all had to do with things that Ben said and what we saw through Audrey’s eyes! Where do we find Audrey at? What do we find her doing at the beginning of the book that had me giggling? Who is Anita Finley? What surprise was in store for Audrey at her location? What was she expecting and what did she get? Who are Keagan, Noreen, and Mary? Why is Anita mentioning them to Audrey? What happens when Audrey is supposed to meet Anita? Oh boy, Officer Mills in deep doo-doo in this book! What did he do this time? I cackled long and loud! Karma is gonna bite him on this one! Oh lord, this is one of the funniest murder mysteries I have ever read! Especially with the gifts at the party and what happens! I love Ned and Jayce. The ending was a shock as to why!
