Each of these stories can be read on their own, but together they are a delightful mix of strange bedfellows. The characters are wonderful but strange. There is not a man in the world like John who appears in all the books. He puts the practice of happy wife, happy life to every minute of his day. These stories will make you laugh and remember life doesn’t have to be dull.
This four book box set gave me hours of reading pleasure! Each and every book in this wonderful collection had good character and storyline development which kept me totally captivated until the very last page!

*** Reviewing ELISE’S FAKE FIANCÉ – BOOK 1 ***
Elise Arrowwood had been called to a meeting with her boss, Adam Bordeaux. They were waiting for Michael, who was typically late. Michael was a really talented reporter, but he treated his job like a joke, missing deadlines, late for appointments, and never apologized for the inconvenience he caused others. Yet he always got the story and made it sound great. Adam told them of rumors that Rosa de la Fuente, a jewel thief who had never been convicted, would be staying at the Sandalwood Hotel in south Florida, and he wanted them to make contact with her for a story. They would be undercover as an engaged couple. She didn’t expect much work out of him, but it didn’t matter as long as her name also appeared on the article she expected to write. She couldn’t wait to see her story on the front page, a story that mattered and people paid attention to!
These stories are well written and flow easily. This particular one was humorous since you couldn’t find two more opposite personalities! Michael goes with the flow of whatever seems right to him at the time, where Elise prefers practical, meticulous planning. Can these two survive the close situation they are put into? Will they get the story? And will Elise see her name blazing from the front page at last?
This was a collection involved employees of the New York Gazette and started out with Elise and Michael posing as being engaged to go undercover to get a story on retired jewel thief Rosa de la Fuente, who has evaded conviction, but is rumored to be staying at a hotel in Florida. Elisa gets the story directly from Rosa, but her boss is sexist and only puts Michael’s name on it. Rosa’s story is the next one where she poses as her bodyguard John’s fiancé to meet with Elisa at the new paper she’s established with Michael. Rosa ends up buying the gazette and getting rid of Elise’s old boss. The last two stories are more reporters pretending to be engaged to go undercover for articles for the gazette. These stories were unbelievable and over the top at times. It seems impossible that Elisa could have an apartment in NYC by herself on twenty thousand a year. How could Rosa commit all these crimes and never get caught and that she doesn’t have the FBI following up on her to see if she would slip up and they could still convict? Just because she stole from wealthy people did not make it right nor legal. There were plenty of funny and romantic moments, but these stories were not without flaws.
A really good series. I enjoyed all the books, the characters and their stories. Each story had a different twist which kept the books interesting as did Rosa who is in each book.

Very entertaining and a lot of fun to read. Strong women and the men who come along to help them. The characters mesh well with storyline. I recommend them. I received a review copy and voluntarily review them.
I loved these books and to me they were so funny especially the first one with Michael and Elise, you know mr. Go.by the seat of my.pants and.Elise who has to prioritize everything. Well written books and that is why I like anthologies or if this can be call an anthology because you get more than one book that is awesome to read.

These are interesting and dramatic stories with unique characters, but they’re not very exciting. Each couple has their own issues to overcome and they are mostly polar opposites who work to find a way to get what each wants. They all have a HEA, even if they don’t deserve it.
I received a copy of this book from Booksprout and am voluntarily reviewing it.
This is a group of four different stories that were different in their own ways. All were about learning to trust others. They were good reads.

Another win for Emma Evans! She is remarkable at writing a great story without having to add in the steamy parts. The characters are always believable and likable. This set focuses around the following women: Elise, Rosa, Samantha, and Opal. The main setting of the story is The New York Gazette in New York City. It all starts with Elise and her being set up to be in a pretend relationship with Michael, a hot shot reporter to help bag a story about a famous jewel thief. The author kind of surprised me here.**Tiny Spoiler Ahead** The jewel thief makes you think automatic antagonist, but turns out, the antagonist is a strong feminist and not so bad! I liked how each of the characters are introduced in the prior story and then weaved in throughout the others. I have never been a fan of Christian romance novels, I felt the romance was forced and not natural, but these “clean” contemporaries do not seemed forced at all. It is a nice change to be able to read a good book that has relatable characters and story line, while not making me feel like I need to repent. If you are looking for a fun beach read, a relaxing read, or just an all around fun story, pick this box set up today!

I love collections you get more bang for the buck and these fake fiancé stories were great reads. I have read historical by Ms. Evans so it was a great change to read modern day work. From reporters posing to investigate a jewel thief to the thief herself and her bodyguard then to a writer with a fake fiancé who decides to find some to pose as the fiancé and finally a new reporter going undercover to write about the wedding industry you are in for the time of your life. All the stories are centered on people who are involved with the Gazette. You will love the dialogue in each of the stories there is a little drama, suspense and a whole lot of love. These are really super stories the collection will go into my re-read files I am sure I will see them again in a few months. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
This is a collection of four sweet romances by Emma Evans. Overall I enjoyed this collection.
Book 1 – Elise’s Fake Fiance – 3 stars
I had a difficult time with this story. Elise Arrowwood is a young reporter sent out on an assignment with the newspapers top reporter Michael. The two characters are a bit like oil and water together. I found their attraction towards each other to be very hard to believe. Elise can be annoying and whiny. Michael just seems too quick to fall. Moving on to the next book….
Book 2 – Rosa’s Fake Fiances – 4 stars
Rosa de la Fuente is an internationally known jewel thief who has decided to hang up her safe cracking tools for good. Her bodyguard John Wilde is someone she is slowly falling for. Can Rosa have a normal life? Would John want more than a working relationship? I enjoyed book two more than book one. Rosa and John have some funny bantering scenes that kept me reading. All in all a good story.
Book 3 – Samantha’s Fake Fiance – 4 stars
Book three is a sweet romantic romp. Samantha Caldwell is a struggling journalist who needs a date to the New Year’s Eve office party. She has told everyone that she is engaged. But where will she find this imaginary guy? And once she finds him, could it become more than just a fake relationship? I enjoyed book three. There were a few moments when the dialogue dragged a bit, but overall it was very good.
Book 4 – Opal’s Fake Fiance – 4 stars
Opal Wilcox is the new reporter working at the Gazette. She has been in a relationship for four years that is sapping her identity slowly away. When she is assigned a story with Daniel Dankovic her world turns upside down. “Then, she saw a man heading her way. He was tall and well dressed. Dark wash denim, a black t-shirt, and a blazer. His hair was brown-blond, and his eyes were blue….His smile was so perfect that he could have been a spokesmodel for Crest Whitestrips.”
I enjoyed this book. I thought it was well written, but I found the heroine extremely flawed. She hops from one man to the other without ever discovering who she actually is inside.
All in all an enjoyable box set of books. I have enjoyed Ms. Evans historical books for the past few years. This set wasn’t completely my cup of tea; however, the stories are well written and if you enjoy sweet contemporary romance you will like these books.
