Murdered artists. Masterful forgeries. Art crime at its worst.
As an insurance investigator and world renowned expert in nonverbal communication, Dr Genevieve Lenard faces the daily challenge of living a successful, independent life. Particularly because she has to deal with her high functioning Autism. Nothing — not her studies, her high IQ, or her astounding analytical skills — prepared her … analytical skills — prepared her for the changes about to take place in her life.
It started as a favour to help her boss’s acerbic friend look into the murder of a young artist, but soon it proves to be far more complex. Forced out of her predictable routines, safe environment and limited social interaction, Genevieve is thrown into exploring the meaning of friendship, expanding her social definitions, and for the first time in her life be part of a team in a race to stop more artists from being murdered.

Good storyline. Interesting characters. Written well
Wonderful portrayal of a high functioning autistic woman, along with a suspenseful and informative story.
Did not like this book. It was a struggle to finish it.
This series is great. I enjoyed reading them. The characters are so different from most who done its. Each character has a different purpose and they work so well together. Definitely recommend.
If you start this book you will be hooked and have to read all of the series. All the people become someone you would like to know, you will find you care about them and want to know their next adventure into the criminal world.
Well written. Loved it.
I love all of Estelle Ryan’s books. The characters are intelligent. There is nothing dumbed down in this book. Descriptions are beautiful – of the art as well as the cities involved. I can hardly wait for the next in the series and have read all more than once.
Really enjoyed this book. Story line very different and fresh. Just bought the second in this series!!!
good book.
Fairly good. A few too many deus-ex-machina revelations, and I figuered out who Piros was way before the MCs did (without even trying).
The whole thing could have been polished a bit more, and a couple of details felt wrong, but all in all, an interesting start. I do hope the next installment is slightly better.
The unique main character and her uncanny ability to rationally analyze the behavior of others as well as of herself is what makes this novel so unforgettable.
Not my type
Autistic woman genius (aka Sherlock Holmes) teams up with two criminals, a policeman, and the head of an art insurance company to solve a crime. Wonderful insights into the autistic mind. Good characters. Hope this is the first in a series. I can’t wait to see what crime they tackle next.
Loved this book! The main character has high functioning autism with an ability to read people’s facial and body expressions and tell if they are lying. The way she interacts with new people in her life is very entertaining. She is honest to a fault with those she is working with to solve this very complex crime…a detective and a “criminal” who …
Love this series, you will too.
This story of a high-performing autistic person was fascinating. Even more fascinating was the evolution of her involvement with other people. Never a dull moment in this one. I liked it a lot. I have read other books by this author and I plan to read more.
Forgeries, murder, European union and Hungarian criminals combine to make this tale absorbing and action packed. The read is easy and the plot develops at a quick pace. Enjoyed the entire book.
I enjoyed this book very much. The plot was a page turner. The characters were very interesting. Good read!
An excellent series. The author has captured the essence of the main character.
