Murdered artists. Masterful forgeries. Art crime at its worst.
As an insurance investigator and world renowned expert in nonverbal communication, Dr Genevieve Lenard faces the daily challenge of living a successful, independent life. Particularly because she has to deal with her high functioning Autism. Nothing — not her studies, her high IQ, or her astounding analytical skills — prepared her … analytical skills — prepared her for the changes about to take place in her life.
It started as a favour to help her boss’s acerbic friend look into the murder of a young artist, but soon it proves to be far more complex. Forced out of her predictable routines, safe environment and limited social interaction, Genevieve is thrown into exploring the meaning of friendship, expanding her social definitions, and for the first time in her life be part of a team in a race to stop more artists from being murdered.

Love this series. The characters are so fun and different!
Fascinating protagonist… a wonderful insight into high-functioning autism or just plain old genius.
I love this whole series & have grown quite attached to the heroic characters.
Thoroughly enjoy this series
I loved this first book by Estelle Ryan, I have bought every one since, and have preordered her latest. The characters are so real, they become your friends and I have learnt a lot about the artists featured. Her research and writing are, to me, flawless.
Reading a book through the eyes of an autistic person is a revelation of
problems and thoughts of these individuals. Love the characters. I bought every book. Thoroughly enjoyed every one of them.
A fun read
Written with great insight. I loved the characters and found myself hoping things would work out. Excellent details and storyline. A great read!
It’s been awhile since I’ve read this book but I think the best recommendation is that when I finished reading it I immediately looked for other books by this author and purchased a couple more.
Bam
I’ve read the first 3 books in this series and really enjoyed them, I love Jenny Lenard’s character.
I love Estelle Ryan’s books and characters. Genevieve is a wonderful character, in particular.
Estelle Ryan is brilliant as the author of the Genvieve Lenard series beginning with The Gauguin Connection. She creates a myriad of fascinating characters to carry off the high paced battle against art criminals especially her struggling title character who, as a high-functioning autistic. Genevieve can detect lies and fakes. Unfortunately, she …
Even read out of order this is a really good book! I’ve also enjoyed the 2nd & 3rd of the series. It’s very interesting the way she writes the inner workings of Dr Lenard’s mind & how she interprets the world. Looking forward to reading more of this series & finding out what happens with her & Colin in the future.
Fantastic series, great plot
Great mystery and added understanding of people in “the spectrum”.
I love all of Estelle Ryan’s books Her characters are true in each book. They respond with the same characteristics in each of her books. Suspenseful, entertaining and fast paced, you will fall in love with the characters. The elements of a particular artist in each book adds to the appeal of all of her books.
Love the characters and plots.
I really enjoyed this book, the first one in the Genevieve Lenard series, and intend to read more of the series. The characters were all intriguing, each with their own quirks. I thought the author’s sensitive portrayal of Genevieve and her autism, high functioning, was especially interesting and made for a very endearing character.
