Somewhat pedestrian tale. There are a lot of holes in the plot. It’s okay if you are just looking for a quick beach read.
Enjoyed!
Great read
A very simple interesting plot line.
This book kept me guessing to the very end. The story was well written and very scary. Could not stop reading!
I had to keep reading; couldn’t put it down.
A convoluted tale about a group of childhood friends, secrets, jealousy, and unrequited love gone frighteningly wrong. The author weaves the plot through flashbacks intermingled with the day by day accounts of a family adrift as a result of their missing child. At times difficult to read as the lost child’s mother deals with her demons that may, or may not have, led to the disappearance of her son. Set in a country different from my own, some of the jargon slowed me down for a while, but all and all, a good read.
I was not a fan of the disjointed writing style. I also found the ultimate outcome a bit hard to believe. How the kidnapper did what was alleged is not realistic. I found myself putting this book down for days at a time before returning to it. Not what I would call an attention keeper.
It was hard reading about a boy who goes missing. My heart went out to the parents in the book. But it was a really good book and hard to put down.
The mother is one of the complex and flawed characters I have encountered. Brilliantly crafted!
I liked it. Didn’t see anything coming. Surprise around every corner.
I liked this book very much. It held you to the very end.
Kept my interest to the very end.
Loved trying to figure this book out.
This was a great book. You start out believing one way, then another and another!!
Only problem was it kept me up too late at night trying to get to the ending.
Ending was surprising. Good read.
Keeps you turning pages!
I enjoyed this book. Had a hard time stopping at night to sleep. Great job with enough characters and different personalities that made each person unique, story really did well to keep you wondering what was going to happen next.
Wonderfully written. placed in Sydney’ s harbor, à story which can happen anytime, anywhere… great likable and dislikable personages.
VERY hard to put this book down. This is the first time that I was very surprise NOT having discovered the plot after reading half of the book….
Well done Mate…. will look for other books from the author… THUMBS UP.
Well written and easy to read. I found it hard to put down!
