Ten years ago, I walked away from Bonne Terre. No explanations. No good byes. Leaving behind Juliette Tremblant who had no business giving her heart to the likes of me.
Now, I’m coming back to town a rich man to try and repair the mistakes I’ve made.
Juliette is not the heart-broken girl I left behind. She’s Chief of Police and, she’s in trouble – real trouble. And I’m the only one who can help … one who can help her.
She might be immune to my wealth and my charm, but she can’t resist my touch. The fire that burned between us is as hot and sweet as it ever was.
Can I convince her that gambling on us is a safe bet? Or am I all out of luck?

The Gambler is book 2 in the Notorious series by Molly O’Keefe about the next O’Neill sibling.
Tyler O’Neill returnees home to Bonne Terre after being gone for 10 years. He wants to repair his mistakes and to repair his relationship with Juliette the girl he left behind but she wants nothing to do with him…
Second chances, suspense, missing jewels, family reunited are just some of the happenings in this book!
I loved Tyler’s story! I enjoyed getting to see the real him and how passionate, caring, and loving he is. He has a huge heart, is loyal to the core, and is a protector. The way he helps Miguel and the bond they form is so heartwarming. Tyler is pegged as a bad boy, the worst of the O’Neill’s. He’s always been judged and I loved watching him shine. He just needed to be given a chance to be seen.
Tyler and Juliette have a rocky past. As they navigate the present, this second chance romance will have you emotional and filled with anticipation of what’s to come. It’s a beautiful story of self-worth and forgiveness filled with hope and love.
“You can run, but… but sometimes it’s smarter to see what you’re running from.”
This was my favorite of the trio of Books about the Notorious O’Neills. Why? Simple: it kept me in tears! So many characters doing the wrong things for all the right reasons. Those reasons being mainly to protect the loved one but often causing more heartache than salvation. Brothers protect sisters, fathers protect daughters-even when his daughter is the Chief of Police, and most of all the hero protects his beloved. This second story is of the talented but misdirected middle child, Tyler O’Neill, who seems to be the victim of circumstances. But he just keeps on trying to get along, playing a big part in the HEA ending to the tragic story of three children abandoned by petty crooks and cons that were their parents.
What a great and well written story. I loved Matt and Savannah’s on again off again heated journey.
A cast of delightful characters enhance the fabric of this mystery romance.
Looking forward to the next in the series, The Gambler!
Molly just gets better with every word she writes! Loved Juliette and Tyler’s story so hard! This is a second chance love story at its best! But love never gives up and neither does Tyler O’Neill. He comes back to town to start over, but in the meantime he has to deal with a father who is wanted by the law and a mother who is hiding stolen gems or is she? Juliette has her hands full with being the town’s sheriff and now she has the Notorious O’Neills and a teenager who wants to learn poker from the best! Can she keep them all from doing jail time while at the same time keeping her heart from breaking this time around? Read this book! 5 stars
Man, for those of us who have read book 1 of this series, you just knew Tyler and Juliette’s book was going to be off the chart with chemistry, and this author did not disappoint. Loved these two together, the emotional challenge both had with their past and trying to get past it to move forward, their passion between the two of them was something else, and how they ultimately came together because of two kids that would break the hearts of those who knew their story. Miguel was an incredible young man and the best big brother. Owen was a jerk, and loved Remy and Priscilla! Loved this book, and can’t wait to read Carter’s story. He’s been kind of silent through this series, with only a couple appearances, so can’t wait to see what’s in store for us with that one.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book
I thought that this was an amazing read and I must say that I am really enjoying this series. Tyler and Juliette’s second chance romance is rich with powerful emotions, tension, drama, intense chemistry, turmoil and the continuing mystery that is an overarching storyline for this series. So while I think you might be able to read and enjoy this book as a standalone, I lean toward recommending that you read this books in order to achieve the best reading experience you can get. These two really tugged at my heartstrings and I was super quickly fully invested in this couple and them finally getting that HEA they truly deserve. I am posting an independent, impartial review.
This is the second book of the Notorious trilogy and is a second chance love story. Juliette was the police chief’s daughter and Tyler was the local bad boy. But together they have a chemistry that is off the charts. Juliette has always wanted to become a lawyer but her father thinks that Tyler is a bad influence and makes it his mission to run Tyler out of town and out of Juliette’s life. Fast forward ten years and Juliette is now the Police Chief and Tyler, a professional poker player, is back in his home town. Understandably, Juliette is angry that he left without an explanation and even more angry that the attraction between them has not subsided. But how can Juliette trust Tyler not to crush her heart again? But as Tyler steps up during one crisis after another, Juliette’s defenses are slowly crumbling, until that one time when she catches him in a lie and their relationship is called into question. Great story.
I absolutely loved Tyler and Juliette!!! While I am not a fan of second chance romances, I just liked who the characters were, so I overlooked why they needed a second chance. There were elements of zany and mad capped, a rom-com sped up, and while some serious emotional issues were dealt with, the storyline didn’t get bogged down with them. I have I mentioned I really liked Tyler? He is just someone that is very likable and has a huge heart. Juliette is the perfect partner for him, joining him and challenging him alternately as needed. A great read, a great story, and a great HEA
