Welcome to the Future Widows’ Club–a secret society of women who’ve been treated like garbage by their horrible husbands and would rather wait for widowhood than endure a divorce. But sometimes waiting can be murder… is staying in the marriage–with a little assistance from the Future Widows’ Club, of course–while she amasses the necessary evidence to send him to prison.
But when Chris is murdered, Jolie becomes the prime suspect. And her alibi? She was at an FWC meeting, which doesn’t exactly lend itself to innocence. But when old flame Jake Malone–the man Jolie ditched to marry Chris–is assigned lead detective on the case she knows she’s really in hot water. Because suddenly the new widow is thinking that a life sentence with no hope for parole–with him– wouldn’t be too bad.
TOP TEN REASONS WHY WIDOWHOOD IS PREFERABLE TO DIVORCE…
1.)Instead of losing half–half your assets and half your friends–a widow keeps it all.
2.)People offer sympathy.
3.)Those same people usually bring food.
4.)Black is slimming.
5.)Less risk of humiliation–a dead husband can’t remarry a twenty-something pilates instructor barely out of college with better breasts and a bellybutton ring.
6.)A widow is a martyr whereas a divorcee is oftentimes unfairly deemed damaged goods or viewed with suspicion.
7.)Life insurance.
8.)More life insurance.
9.)Death is permanent–no Jerry Springer-like meetings, courtroom brawls or bitter debates over who was right or wrong. (You were right, of course.)
10.)The ultimate last word…and you have it.

Loved the story and the characters. A few moments of ‘nobody would ever do that’ but threw in the ‘i believe’ cards and the story was back on track. Don’t take it too seriously, and enjoy this quick read.
Very average writing and plotting.
Such an interesting concept that had me so entertained!!! When my husband asked what I was reading and told him the premise, I couldn’t help but laugh!!
Cute story but needs proofreading. Too many typos, grammar errors, word omissions, etc.
I guess as an actual widow, I don’t find it amusing or entertaining to read about women who claim to be strong women but who take a coward’s way out of a situation.
An unexpected ending.
Just started looking into Cozy mysteries, found out they are not quite my taste but this is a readable and nicely written book.
This is a wonderful tale that kept me guessing until the end. Great concept and very funny!
Pleasant.
An interesting concept for anyone in a less-than-ideal relationship! A fun, relatable read about a feisty group of women who support and encourage each other during their difficult times. No, the club does not try to hasten anyone’s entry into the Widow’s Club. Rather, they help each other until that day finally comes. Maybe some enterprising person will start a chain of FWCs.
Hilarious.
It was a fun read and had a great twist at the end
Funny but predictable
It’s good if you’re super bored.
A good read
LOL
What if every community had a club for women with awful husbands? What if that club helped the wives survive each day with plans for after their husband died? This wife got into a lot of trouble because her husband died but she didn’t kill him. I like the ending.
Loved it!
I really enjoyed reading this book it was funny and entertaining.
Predictable
