Wonderful Start to Fantasy Series
While I don’t read it as often as some other types of books, I do enjoy a good fantasy now and then. This one intrigued me when I read about it on one of my favorite book review sites. The author has created an interesting world that blends your typical medieval-ish fantasy setting with some very modern and futuristic tech. While I haven’t read fantasy widely, I don’t think I’ve seen that kind of world before, but the author completely makes it work. Right at the start of the book, the heroine finds out that she is to be the Heir to the Frozen Queen. This adds levels of complexity to her life that she is not sure she wants and would preclude her from enjoying the life she wants. The book had some excellent twists and turns that kept my interest. The only thing I didn’t like about the book is that it ended on a cliffhanger of sorts. In general, I’m not a fan of books ending on cliffhangers—especially if not warned about—as it makes them feel incomplete to me. That said, I still found this to be a page-turning read that offered humor as well as moments that kept me on the edge of my proverbial seat.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
Fantasic! The Frozen Queen is another great by Bekah Clark. I found this story to be original and intense. Bekah has an amazing way of writing, that you feel what the characters must be feeling. I am alway in awe of Bekah’s writing and this book does not disappoint. The Frozen Queen held me captive from the first page to the last and the well drawn characters easily come to life and captures the futuristic feel in which the story is set. Her descriptions are so vivid and clear you can picture it all in your mind. Can you tell I loved this book? I cannot say enough of this story and Bekah’s writing that you will just have to read it yourself to understand what I am trying to tell you. This story has kidnapping, fights, determination, judgment, death, kindness, insecurities, the will to stay alive, torture, beliefs, hurt, tears, courage, pride, fear, teachings, training, politics and a one true love. I highly recommend this book, it is a page turner. Go into the future with Phaedra as she tells you of her journey to become The Frozen Queen.
***This book was gifted to me and I am voluntarily reviewing.
I loved Bekah Clark’s first in the Frozen Queen series. Phaedra must come to terms with the fact that she is the next woman to be frozen in time as the Queen. Can she leave the freedom and love of her old life behind and give up everything for her people? Looking forward to reading more in this world.
This is book 1 of the Frozen Queen Series. This is such a great book. The story had a great flow and you was pulled into the story as if you was there. The characters are great and very well developed. I highly recommend reading this book it will pull you into its world.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Phaedra and Kaeden… oh my goodness! A forbidden love now that Phaedra will be the Frozen Queen. I loved the plot and the characters were well developed! Ms. Clark did an amazing job pulling the reader into the world where Tech is for the privileged and the Queens rule for 750+ years. I would have enjoyed a little more development of the relationship between Phaedra and her parents, but the adventure to the Emerald Mountain makes up for it.
This book was different from what I expected but I enjoyed it. I liked the characters and I enjoyed the journey Phaedra took to become the woman she needed to be to be the Frozen Queen. Some of the world building and the history was a bit tedious but necessary for us to know the entire story. About midway through I didn’t want to put it down, and when I had to in order to work, it was in my mind waiting for me. I look forward to the next book to continue on with the story. Bekah Clark’s books are always well written and this one did not disappoint. Very good book.
The Frozen Queen: Reluctant Heir is the first book in the Frozen Queen series. The story took me on an exciting journey with lots of action, adventure, and danger. Once I started reading it I could not put it down. I thoroughly enjoyed this exciting new world Ms. Clark has built. The characters are well developed and you can’t help but fall in love with the H and h. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves fantasy that goes beyond the usual fare. I can’t wait for the second book. Well done Ms. Clark!
