What happens when the fairy tale is over?
Once upon a time, a lovely maiden from Fresno married the man of her dreams. After the honeymoon, she waited for the “happily ever after” part… until her Prince Charming turned out to be a toad. Now Holly Bishop is about to write a new chapter in her life. She moves to San Francisco to become an event planner — only to find that she is dealing with a … dealing with a gorgeous fairy godmother for a boss and corporate witches wicked enough to sabotage her future. Not to mention the egomaniacal frogs Holly finds lurking at the bottom of the dating pool. With no one to save her will Holly slay the dragons herself and stand on her her own for the very first time? Will the man behind the mask at her costume ball make her believe in love again? And will she risk giving up her dreams to become the heroine of her own story?

Not what I expected, but this book was surprisingly pleasant! Very original and believable story. I doubt there is a woman out there that Encouraging and triumphant 🙂
This is an exceptional book. Thanks to the author for bringing an A game to a genre that has become much too predictable and stale. This is fresh and definitely a page turner!
so so, didn’t really entertain me.
This is the first book by Jane Porter that I read. The front cover caught my attention, then the back cover excerpt made me buy it. It reminded me so much of similar things my daughter had been going through at the beginning (the small town girl who always thought of others before herself. The groom turning back into the frog. How to go about …
This was a great book for casual reading. If you dont have time to read more than a chapter a day ,this is the book for you. Easy to pick up and read after having to put down for a day or two.
The best thing about this book was it was realistic. The main character is just like any working woman trying to make it, heal a broken heart and maybe find new love. If you don’t like the big sappy romantic novels that will never happen, then this is the book to read. Life isn’t all rise petels and champagne so it was comforting to read a book …
It read like a first novel, which I don’t think it is. It was ok but I wouldn’t seek out anything else by the author. A nice piece of fluff for the poolside.
This book was entertaining though frustrating at times. The heroine lacks self confidence and lets everyone take advantage of her. It was nice to see her finally redeem herself st the end
I liked the characters and the pacing was on point!
I ended up deleting this book after reading about a quarter of it. Waste of my time…
I did not care for the first person internal narrative and I was hoping for some relationship to develop for this sad divorcee. It left me wanting more.
The heroine in this story finally pulls herself up by her shoe straps and gets on with her life.
I tried to read it and just could not. I read 30% and struggled through that. It just wasn’t for me and I don’t want to continue struggling.
Nothing like anything I have read before, just different.
Truly enjoyed this book. The characters were believable and the story took me through a range of emotions.
I found myself commiserating with the gal in the story – the story is realistic.
This was a favorite! Happily giving a five star review!
Not so much a romance novel as a getting it together novel
Loved it!!
Easy beach read. Period.
