Megan Wallace wants three things: to make a living as an artist, to fulfill a promise she made her grandmother to visit the Boboli Gardens in Italy, and—oh yeah— for her best friend Brian Watts to fall in love with her. When the local library hosts an art competition, in which the winner will receive a one-year contract to paint in Florence, Italy, Megan sets out to make all her dreams come true.… true.
Since Brian is a talented woodworker, Megan plans to ask him to make the custom frames for her paintings. She’s crushed to discover he’s already partnered up with Chelsea Chambers, Megan’s rival since art school. Megan is even more devastated when Chelsea sets her sights on Brian romantically.
The stakes are high and there can only be one winner. When the contest judges praise Chelsea’s classic style, Megan wonders if she should forego her own surreal painting style for one that’s more traditional. Brian urges her to be true to her talent. He also gives her reason to believe that maybe he feels more than friendship for her after all.
Will Megan have to give up her vision in order to win the contest? And if she wins, will she have to say goodbye to the love of her life?

I love every book that I have had the opportunity to read by Susan Hatler. The sweetest kiss is the fourth book in The kissed by the bay series. The books can be read as stand alone or in order.
Megan is an artist trying to get herself known by other artist. She enter a competition with three other people. The winner gets to go to Italy for a year to paint her pictures for galleries.
Brian runs an Inn that was left to him and his sister. He had just broken up with his girlfriend because he does not believe in long distance relationships. He has been in love with Megan for a long time.
Will Megan win the competition and move to Italy? Will her and Brian fall in love and make it work? Time will tell.

Sweet friends to lovers story that plays to Megan and Brian’s insecurities that developed over the years. Megan is a little too self depricating and Brian a little too whimpy but, overall I liked their story. I like how Megan does put her whole self out there in a big way even though there’s a high probabilty of things not panning out in her favor. Brian is steadfast in his beliefs and doesn’t see where a compromise is possible between them. But, Megan follows through with a new sense of conviction that would make her Aunt Bea proud. Unfortunately, it takes her a seemingly long time to come to this realization. Thankfully, the ending does make up for the frustation with these two lovebirds.

She has three wishes, one is to become an artist, two to fulfil her promise to go to Boboli Gardens and to have him as her boyfriend. She goes to ask for his help with her frames for a contest but he has already said he would do them for her rival. They have also set their sights on him. What will she do? Will she change her style to win? Will she lose the one she wants to her rival? See if true love will conquer all

Megan and Brian were finally becoming more than friends. Would her dream come true year in Italy studying art put an end to it. after all Brian didn’t do long distance relationships.
One of Ms Hatler ‘s best
This was an awesome book. I loved that all the characters are well developed and engaging and the chemistry between them is off the charts when they come together. The storyline flowed smoothly.

Megan has had a long time crush on her close friend Brian.
Eager to finally fulfill a promise she made to her grandmother to paint in Italy, Megan enters a contest she thinks will be perfect for her, and might bring her closer to Brian.
Instead, a faster acting rival uses the situation to her own advantage.
Will true love win out? Whose love might that be?
Another exciting and emotionally fraught Blue Moon Bay story!

Megan and Brian are best friends. She’s been in love with him for years, and wants more than just friendship. She turns down a great job so she can paint for a contest that has grand prize of artist training in Italy for a year. They kiss under a blue moon, but he doesn’t believe the legend. When he asks her out, she’s torn – she really wants to date him, but what if she wins the contest and leaves? I really enjoyed reading this book. It’s clear from the beginning that these two belong together, but they’re either unable or unwilling to take a chance. Megan has really terrific supportive friends, so necessary when life challenges you.

Book four of the Kissed by the Bay series a well written story that I was not putting down until I had finished reading. I enjoyed reading Megan Wallace and Brian Watts’ story, the contest to get her to Italy and to see the Boboli Gardens and her nemesis Chelsea Chambers. A story that is well worth reading. I enjoyed this romance. I thought that he storyline was fun and the characters were likable. You really had to feel for Megan. This girl obviously broke a mirror or something because luck was sure not on her side. Add in her unrequited feelings for Brian and yeah, my heart hurt for her. Brian seemed like a really good guy and I thought together that they made a very sweet couple. This is my independant, impartial review.
Megan & Brian make a wonderful pairing in this easy to read tale. She’s the artist, he’s a woodworker also working at the family inn. Both don’t tell the other how they feel so they hold back as circumstances haven’t been in their favour.
If you’re a fan of this author this is another tale that won’t disappoint.

A friends to forever love story. Will the kiss under the blue moon turn out? Or will they let distance separate them? The angst frustrated me but the grand gesture at the end was so romantic. Loved finding out the story behind the legend.

This is probably the story I’ve been the most looking forward to since I started reading the series, and I am not disappointed. Megan has been the ever-cheerful presence in the background of all the previous books, so I wasn’t at all expecting the emotional depths we see. Maybe it’s the Watts family that I love so much because their stories have been the ones that have resonated with me the most. I think Brian was my favorite part of this story. He had the farthest to go (pun intended) in order to get his happy ever after, and I’m so glad I got to see it.
