Loved the thread that showed how closely we’re all connected as women — as humans.
A little hard to get in to, but after you do it is great. Interesting characters.
I generally read historical fiction, but wanted something a bit lighter and since I am an avid crocheter and have been in crochet clubs, I thought this would be perfect. I was not disappointed! This was a really good read with great characters that I grew to really care about throughout the book. The story was very entertaining and there were a few parts that came as a complete shock to me. I like that in a book. I’m so glad I chose this book to read and am even happier to learn there’s two more in this series. Great book, couldn’t put it down!
I laughed and cried and cheered reading this book. Hated to see it end as I didn’t want to lose out on what they did next. Still think about the characters in this book and I read it a couple of years ago. The sequel is excellent, too. A very good read!
Love character development; there was too much and then not enough. complete with precocious pre-teen and collection of those trying to find their way and put their hard fought preconceived attitudes aside. How not to be stubborn.
I got bored half way through and just stopped reading.
Absolutely loved this story and I truly can follow the story in my mind. I was so saddened at the results of the ending but it’s also the way life happens.
This was a good book read. I would give it 4.5 stars if I could so 4 will have to do.) If you are into knitting, you’ll especially love it as the author gives hints and tips on the knitting (just small paragraphs at the end of some of the chapters but you need not be a knitter to enjoy the story. I’m not into knitting, but the story line was great. I’m not going to give away the ending, but the story of the main character and her daughter (owners of a yarn store for knitters) forming this knitting club (it really formed on it’s own) and the interweaving of the characters is just wonderful. The owner just weaves herself, unknowingly, into the other characters’ lives and everyone is so much more better for it. You’ll enjoy it. I did and it does bring to life that family and friends are so much valuable than all of the riches in the world. Enjoy!!
It was a little hard for me to get into, personally, but once I got into the first few chapters I was more invested in the characters
I absolutely loved this book! Kate is one of my favorite authors now!
Absolutely beautifully written. The characters come alive.
A book about life, love, loss, reconnections, misunderstandings, birth and death. Pour a cup of tea/coffee, grab your comfy spot and start reading or listening as the case may be, but be prepared to laugh, rage, snicker and cry…seriously, you are going to need a few tissues to get through this one. I picked this up thinking it would be just another easy to listen to book about a few women who become friends over knitting and you would get a light hearted look at their lives. Well, you get that alright, but oh so much more. There is a twist that I just didn’t see coming. I absolutely have to read the second book in the series now.
Loved it
I love hearing all about the, different lives
I WANT TO GO THERE AND LEARN TO KNIT
A great read with wonderful characters and a good plot.
the word I would use would be “charming”. It’s been several years since I read this book and yet the very title brings up a “feeling” inside …. some very brief glimpses of scenes I conjured in my mind while reading it. That says a lot considering how many books I read in any given year. Thoroughly enjoyable, sweet read.
One of my favorites!!
I loved the characters and the writers descriptions of the people and places.
A Loving Treat.
