Oh WOW!!! I was pulled in from the beginning! Fabulous paranormal/fantasy world, I absolutely love this series of books, the action starts slowly and builds, The characters are well defined early on and blossom throughout the series, you can feel the tension building between the main characters early in the series which develop wonderfully as each book progresses. Very well written storey. There are no cliff hangers as such but each book always leaves you wanting more so be warned though once you start reading this series you won’t be able to put the books down so be prepared for some binge reading
“Tricked” is a great short story in a series I love. I can’t wait for the next full length book to come out.
Vee gets more powerful every day and her enemies get more dangerous. I can’t wait for the tension between Vee and Xander to finally explode!
I love a good Vee and Pony story! I’m so happy Ms. Swallow is continuing the series with holiday stories, like “Sinister.”
Vee and the guys are in a new house, in a new village. Most of the locals think they are weird and some of the kids like to torment Xander. But in the midst of getting ready for Halloween, a sinister force comes to town. Can Vee and the guys defeat it?
I read Tricked last year and loved it. Then this year we get Sinister and a glimpse in to Vee and the guys life after Choas. I loved seeing these characters in a different light. They are still doing their “job” as horsemen but they also have a little fun and some steamy times along the way. Fabulous short reads for the Halloween season.
I loved visiting Vee and the Pony Boys for these stories. I read Tricked last year but Sinister was new, I loved them both. They’re lighter fun stories and show a bit of a different side.
Sinister is really good new short story added to The Four Horsemen. I really liked it alot. It was nice to see different sides to Xander. There was some fun and some seriousness. This is well written story. We see that the Horsemen aren’t as strong as they think.
Sinister
I was really excited when the author announced that she was going to be revisiting The Pony Boys. It was an entertaining short story. Again, this author is good at not tackling too much in the length of the story; she deals with one event well, rather than trying to cram in loads. As with the other books in this world, I was really invested in this story. I wanted to slap one of the guys (not going to say who, because spoilers), and I had a visceral hatred for this antagonist. I mean, I really hated her, which to me, is a sign of great writing to get your reader so involved, and especially over a short story length versus a novel. There aren’t many criticisms that I had, but there was just something missing from this one for me, which is why I couldn’t give it five stars. I don’t know, maybe it was the focus on the antagonist? It almost felt like too much, too overwhelming almost, but then again, that was also what evoked such a strong reaction from me. Glad to see TFH carry on and looking forward to the Christmas short.
Tricked
This is a fun novella that steps away from the chaos of main story a little bit. It’s still the Horsemen and Vee doing what they do, it’s still all the same characters, but it feels like it gives you a chance to breathe/get to know them away from the other stuff that’s going on. I normally have a big issue with novellas. They’re meant to be short, quick reads. Some authors try to accomplish to much in novella length books. They try to cover too much, and they end up glossing over things, or rushing them, and the story ends up mediocre at best. The author hasn’t done this here. Yes, this jumps straight into the story, as it expects that you’ll know the characters and some of the backstory. I understand that some authors with novella length stories don’t have that luxury. That said, the author has done what I think is the smart thing and has written about one exciting event that takes place over the course of Halloween night. It is was well done, and you don’t feel like you’ve been left wanting.
