I love Historical Fiction, and this story grabbed my attention from the start. It was a page turner for me, I couldn’t wait to find out the answers to the main questions posed in the story. I highly recommend.
It’s a great book a little sad but unfortunately what happened to a lot of institutionalize people back in the day.
I really loved this story–very well written and offers a glimpse into another world.
So many layers to this amazing story. I loved it.
A beautiful story, well told and engaging.
Absolutely a delight to read. Maria feels like she could be your friend. What happened to her and to many others is unforgivable.
I couldn’t put it down. Great story
I loved this book
Really loved this book
It took a few pages to get into the story; however, it then became a very good read–I guess a page-turner describes it. Unfortunately, as I approached the end of the book, it sadly became very predictable. Another great book about WWII
A great adventure in a woman’s life.
I enjoyed this book as it was very interesting.
Very enjoyable read!
A good read with an original story line.
I listened to this in the car on the way to work and found myself looking forward to my commute ! I really wanted to listen to this story unfold !!
This book has a wonderful story line. It kept me enthralled to the end. Hard to put down. The characters felt real.
I LOVE quilts and have at least 5 that my grandmother & her daughter (my aunt) made – several especially for me. I know the detailed work that went into each of them as they were hand sewn not machine stitched.
The story line played out as I suspected it might but it was definitely a page-turner ! I will be anxious to read more of her …
It’s hard to believe this sort of story could happen, and yet it probably could. In Europe so much has been related to station in life instead if talent. I liked how the
seamstress life was developed early and at the end she had been so talented that her work could still be identified years later.
Great book, well developed characters.
