I give it four stars because it left a mystery unanswered, It ended abruptly. All in all its a very good read, great characters, and entertaining. As an Amish novel lover, I would highly recommend it. Hopefully there will be a book two and possibly three to solve the mystery at the end.
It’s a nice glimpse at a culture not all get to see. Learning the different ways of Amish people and their ways was a nice change. The story line was sad but inspirational.
I loved this book. Also enjoyed recipes. Seriously, this is a wonderful romance evolving after loss of a loved one, misunderstandings, moving on, and everything revolving around a lost recipe for raspberry pie being found and giving comfort. I don’t normally like this kind of story, but I LOVED this one!
I enjoyed the book, but the use of German/amish words was overkill and distracted from the story. The author also didn’t explain much about amish life.
This was my first foray into amish based novels. I found it quite pleasant to read. Definitely quite different from the fiction and research that are my usual go to books. I did enjoy it enough to bring in more like it in the future.
This book is a nice casual change of pace for a quiet happily ever after kind of day.
I am fond of most Amish books. they are pretty predictable, but easy to read and interesting.
Well written with hints of an underlying story. Drew me into the four book series wanting to know more.

I always enjoy stories in which some of the characters are trusting god for decisions and actions.
Loved the family ties with neighbors and family history. The use of generational recipes and faith not only kept the family together, but brought romance and love to the family. Well developed characters, their interactions, and character strengths lend to the success of this book. I thoroughly enjoyed this and look forward to reading more from this series and author.
A wonderful read. I could not put it down. I love reading about the Amish and this story was different from other Amish books I have read. I would highly recommend this for anyone interested in an Amish read.
Very good story. I really recommend this book.
I loved the book. I was disappointed the recipe for the raspberry pie was not in the book.
I really enjoy books about the Amish culture. We all can learn from their simpler ways of life. It tells me maybe we don’t need to rush thru life like there is no tomorrow. Slow down and enjoy the simple things in life.
Sweet story. Good for readers who like Amish fiction.
I enjoyed this book and it was very easy to read. Interesting characters but I became weary of Jason as he continued to withhold the truth. All well in the end and illustrates that honesty and forgiveness are important qualities in any last relationship.
I enjoyed reading this book but I believe it is more of a young adult book. I think young girls would really enjoy reading it and would learn from it.
I loved the way the guy was so shy that he kept buying that wonderful raspberry pie
Very simple tale. Boy and girl come together and instantly fall in love. Boy withholds important truth. When girl finds out, they part, but ‘true love’ reunites them and they live happily and vapidly ever after. This story could have been told in far fewer pages. Most of the book was repeating over and over why the boy didn’t tell the truth at first and why he kept putting off his confession.
