Solid 4.5 star
I liked how this was connected to book 1 but not the same story, the characters were connected and crossed over but in a fluid way. Caitlin is a strong, successful and determined woman/agent however no matter how strong you are seeing your ex who broke your heart turn up is not good. Dean is fully alpha around Caitlin which is great but is bloody cheeky seeing as how he ghosted her years earlier. This book is a great mix of attraction, action, suspense, second chance at love and one hell of a serial killer. I kept chopping and changing who I thought the killer was and the way you are teased by them and their actions kept you hooked and and playing so many scenarios in your head.

Caitlin and Dean grew up in the same small town and where high school sweethearts. Dean ends up leaving unexpectedly and doesn’t explain to Caitlin what was up. When they meet again they are both looking for a killer in their hometown that seems to be targeting Caitlin. She is now a FBI agent and she has not idea the power Dean has with his military job. As they work together to catch the killer neither of them can deny the feelings they have for each other, but there is a lot of truths they both need to face before they can move on together.
Depression, abuse, wickedness. All too real I am afraid. I work in the field of mental illness and this is very believable. I find the story sad, depressing but interesting because it is real. I hope others will read it too and try to understand.

This is the 1st book I’ve read written by Andrea Bills; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I will definitely be reading more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

Loved this book, it’s very well written and the characters are very well-developed and have believable dialogue. The plot is interesting and there is a lot of tension between the main characters. With lots of drama and twists and turns I was perpetually changing my mind to who the killer was. Lots of suspense that made me want to turn those pages as fast as I could to find out what was going to happen next.

Wow this kept me on the edge of my seat. I couldn’t put it down, it pulls you in and makes you want to see what happens next. The storyline and characters are wonderful. Well thought out and likeable. I recommend it to all, it is so well worth the read! I received it from booksprout and voluntarily left my review
When Dean was introduced in Hardwired, I knew whatever his story was it was going to be a rollercoaster of emotions and it does not disappoint. This romantic suspense is Dean’s story of love, loss and a killer bent on revenge and destruction.
Drawn back to their hometown by a killer who stages the victims to send them a message, Navy Seal Dean Campbell and his ex and FBI agent Caitlin Cade must put their past aside and work together. For Dean its easy, he’s there to help solve the case and win back the only woman he’s ever loved. Caitlin wants nothing to do with Dean as a partner in the case or in life. His duty caused him to leave her before and she’s not willing to give him a second chance to do it again. Working together to stop the killer, both will have to come to terms with the past, survive the present and believe in the future. The past where all of this began and a killer who seems to know it as well as they do. The present where every murder and every clue is more gruesome than the one before. The future a question mark, because they must both survive first.
When the killer strikes too close to Caitlin, Dean makes a phone call and has himself put in charge of the investigation. After securing Caitlin in a safe house Dean thinks he can focus on solving the case until she sneaks out and heads right into killer’s plan. Dean finds himself in a race against time to figure out the killer’s identity, find their location and rescue Caitlin. What is he willing to do or sacrifice to ensure the safety of the woman he loves?
Dean and Caitlin are the couple you root for and want to see not only survive but find their way back to each other. Both are headstrong, stubborn and determined to stand their ground, will their battle with each other get in the way of the stopping the killer? A killer that is methodical, in the choice of victims, their death and their discovery, who is not playing by any rules but their own. In a small town where everyone knows everyone and everything about you, the killer could be anyone.
The ending is completely unexpected and will leave you shocked. Andrea’s detailed descriptions, explanations, and vivid story telling make this story come to life. By the end of the book the only question remaining is how long do I have to wait to read the next book in the series?
This was a story that grabs you by the imagination and takes you for a ride. From the beginning to the end, it is an intense thrill ride. The characters are portrayed so clearly that you can imagine them and see them doing the things throughout the book. I recommend this book to one and all.

Holy smokes, this book was good! I cannot adequately describe how incredibly wonderful this book was. I honestly need more than just 5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book in exchange for a free copy.
Hands down one of my favorite suspense driven romance novels I have read in a really long time. Literally ran from the subway to my home to finish since I was at 92% when I reached my stop. Blown away. Kept to the edge of my seat. The sexual chemistry bubbling between Dean and Caitlin was oh so good. Not often I find a story that I think I have figured out and low and behold the author turns it around on my.
A well-written story. I really like The Brotherhood Series. It brings so much to attention of the dark and scary things in this life. Its troubling to think of all the monsters in the world.
The characters are well-developed. Their emotions are so easy to feel. It pulled me right into the story. I love all the characters. Caitlin and Dean have a wonderful relationship with a strong chemistry that everyone would like to have. I adore Caitlin;s tenacity. I also love Kip, Luke and Beryl, the way all of them are always there for each other. They make a great tem.
The cover and the title of the book are a perfect match for the story.
There is dark and graphic content as well as profanity and sexual explicitness.
I highly recommend this book to adults. It is a very good read.

I wish life wouldn’t get in my way of reading. This book is one you really don’t want to put down. There is so many twists and turns throughout this book, your not sure which end is up. Dean and Caitlin are high school sweethearts until she needs him most. That was years ago and she’s tried to move on. Dean couldn’t tell her then why. He is back now to make her his again. The serial killer that brought her back home might just bring them back together for good.
Oh! And the killer! The suspense that leads up to finding the killer? Holy edge of my seat and shortness of breath! I never saw that coming!
I absolutely loved how this book had me on the edge of my seat! The way Andrea Bills wrote Dean’s story was absolutely perfect! Mystery, Suspense, and Love all bundled in this beautifully written story! Definitely a Must read but absolutely recommend reading HARDWIRED first like I did!!!

This is the follow up book to Hardwired and the author once again delivers! She had me hooked from page one with her descriptive writing and vivid scenes. It’s a well written murder mystery mixed with a steamy romance. The supporting characters help to bring the story around and make it a page turner i loved reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given,
This is a mystery / romance and WOW! Full of suspense, an edge of your seat read. Fantastic characters!

This book is so full of suspense that once I started reading, I didn’t want to put it down. You would think that since the story takes place in a small town, it would be easy to determine who the killer was that drew Agent Caitlin Cade back to her home town. But that was not the case as there were multiple potential suspects and the reason for the killings was not obvious either.
And as if that isn’t enough for Caitlin to deal with, in comes the man who holds her heart (although she doesn’t want to admit that he still does). Turns out Dean left her life without an explanation and now he came back with the intention of explaining to her. But with the killings going on, will he get his chance? And will he be able to let Caitlin do her job without taking over?
It was great to have a strong female character who is able to hold her own versus the males in the story. Loved how the story unfolded and it definitely kept my attention throughout. I’m looking forward to reading more of these stories (hopefully there will be more to this series).

First, can we talk about this cover. I love it! It draws you in wanting to know more about this book.
Next, this book is worth 5 stars and more if I could give more. This story picks up after Hardwired, which is a must read before this book. We are introduced to Caitlin Cade, a FBI agent, as she makes her way back to her hometown. And Dean Campbell, the ever loyal friend from Hardwired. This is their story of second chances. But this is not just any story because we are following along as they try to apprehend a murderer that seems to always be a step ahead during this thrilling story full of twists and turns. Not only do we have the relationship between Dean and Caitlin but we also get this page turning story that keeps us on the edge of our seat. I loved this book and can’t wait to see what is next from this author!
OMG!! I loved this book. It was an great follow-up to Hardwired. It was great learning Dean’s backstory, more about what he and his team actually do and being surprised. In Hardwired, I pictured Dean as older than he was portrayed in this book. Of course, several characters from Hardwired figured prominently in this book as well allowing more info into their lives. I would love to see Kip get his own story and HEA next.
The characters were well written. The mystery and suspense were so well written that I was actually surprised. Usually when reading, watching tv or a movie, I am pretty good at predicting what will happen next or who did it, but not this book. I was pleasantly surprised when I was wrong.
For me, this is a must read but should definitely be read after Hardwired. I look forward to reading Ms. Bills’ future books.
