I enjoy anything written by Robert Crais! Interesting character development.
I’ve read all the Elvis Cole/Joe Pike novels and Robert Crais is one of my top 5 favorite authors. This installment is a little more emotional than most of the series but that makes it even more interesting. To top it off, Crais throw Carol Starky (“Demolition Angel”) into the mix. If you’ve ever enjoyed a Robert Crais novel (or a David Baldacci …
Action packed with good plot
This is my second Cole and Pike novel, and unfortunately, I’m reading them out of order. I enjoyed this book a lot.
Crais is a master of description and painting a scene for the reader. I found the insights into Cole’s childhood interesting and sad.
The story was compelling and the action segments were exciting. I did struggle at the beginning …
Elvis Cole and Joe Pike make a great team, and all the books featuring them are delightful and wonderful reading. The stories are realistic and entertaining, and I wish I knew them. I’m hoping Robert Crais writes more books featuring them!!!
I love Crais’ characters. World’s Greatest Detective is such an interesting person and I just want to pat him on the back and give him a loving hug. sniff, sniff
Gotta love Robert Crais!
Good characters, and an engaging story. Robert Crais at his best.
Elvis Cole is, by far, my favorite detective and Robert Crais never fails to deliver a compelling, exciting and complex story line that always leaves me eager to read his next book.
Great writing by a seriously compelling author.
Needed just a little bit more of Joe Pike.
Robert Crais has a knack for grabbing and holding a reader’s attention. He keeps Elvis Cole and Joe Pike moving forward, but in this particular story Elvis is caught in somewhat of a retrospective look back at his youth, his family, and his doubts. This is a complex story that is a little different but always entertaining. Really good stuff.
Good read.
Elvis has always looked for his father. When a cop calls and tells him a murder victim’s last words were that Elvis was his son, Elvis digs in.
It’s an old story finally coming to an end.
I have enjoyed all of the Elvis Cole series and was very happy to read the latest sequel. Good balance of humor and suspense.
Not my favorite Crais.
I ordered this book and started reading one evening. After one chapter or so, the book ended and it told me it was “excerpt”. So I called the next day – they credited my account and sent the book again. Same thing – Just an excerpt. I gave up. But the chapter I read was great!
Crais is always engaging
Loved it
Really enjoy his books!!
Outstanding novel by my favorite author!
