I’ve been abducted, twice in as many months. The world of my captors is a dark and mysterious place, but for me it also holds forbidden pleasures I’ve never experienced before.Still, when I get a chance to run, I take it.A rebel and a convicted criminal, he has spent most of his existence suspended between two worlds, in a state his kind call Deep Sleep. Nearly forgotten by all.Until I disturb his … all.
Until I disturb his slumber.
The touch of a demon awaken is always dangerous. And for me, it turns out treacherous in more ways than one.
I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN. LET THE SLEEPING DEMONS LIE.
Warning: The Forgotten is a paranormal romance that contains sexual situations and graphic descriptions of intimacy. For readers 18+.
Although The Forgotten is a brand new love story with different main characters, it is recommended to read the series in order, to better understand the world and the main story line.

LOVED this book. The heroine and the hero were very well rounded, strong, and likable. I didn’t want the book to end.
~Willing is the key~
—>>> Not having read the first book of this series, I was nevertheless drawn in by the situation which Katherine “Kitty” Jones finds herself in. Captive against her will for five weeks, she suddenly finds herself in a whole other situation, one which brings her in close proximity to yet another demon, but his one is not part of the compound she just escaped by murky means.
Ivarr is an immortal sex demon demon, one who is lonely and resigned to being forgotten, left in a state of isolation on house arrest. When he finds the little woman on the floor of his bedroom, he knows that he has to keep her safe.
This was a creative and unique new world, one which I am looking forward to continuing to find answers to questions raised in this installment!
I fell in love with this world in Demon Mine and was so happy to hear the author was making it a series. I was instantly intrigued by Ivarr in the little glimpse we got of him and he turned out to be even better! I love Marina’s Demons and strong willed heroines. This book was a continuation of the first and we get to see more of what happened after Demon Mine and how the Demons are integrating in the real world. I fell in love with Ivarr and Kitty’s relationship, she didn’t quite trust herself around him at first and he let her take the time she needed. But when they did come together it was explosive and so good! I am looking forward to seeing more of this work and learning more about the couples we met in this installation. Another book that drags you into the world and you’re never ready for it to be over!
It was a pleasure to read this truly enjoyable & fantastic paranormal romance. The story-line is well-thought out and written with a suspenseful plot, which certainly kept my attention. The unique characters are well-developed, and have a variety of traits and different sides to their individual personalities, tempered with determination.
There is: demons/incubus, humans, a incubi base, Priory, councils, a strong beautiful rebel demon (Ivarr), a strong-willed woman held against her will (Katherine aka Kitty), a ex-boyfriend (Derek), twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, some humor, mystery, adventure, action, danger, enemies, evil, abduction, strange deals, anger, demands, fear, deceit, drugged, kidnapped, escape, discovery, concern, conversation, memories, punishment, emotional feelings, attractions, attacked, threats, suspicions, warnings, irritation, stories, longings, dreams, doubts, friendship, excitement, requests, disclosure, desire, contentment, happiness, some steam & a satisfying ending.
I really enjoyed reading this paranormal romance and would recommend it to people who enjoy reading this genre.
Katherine aka “Kitty” and Ivarr have a wonderful love story. Kitty is basically kidnapped twice but stumbles on the demon, Ivarr, in a deep sleep being punished for breaking the rules. Somehow Kitty survives this initial encounter and shows just how tough she is. Her strength in saving herself and Ivarr ultimately is heart warming and downright sexy! I loved meeting the other demons and can’t wait to learn more of their stories in the books to come. You will want to read Book 1, Demon Mine, to fully get the background info and insight. But this book is a wonderful HEA and could stand alone.
Kitty Jones had been abducted. Held against her will for almost six weeks, Kitty was traumatized repeatedly by her cloaked captors. When an unexpected opportunity arises for Kitty to flee, she did…. Or at least, attempted to do so. Recaptured by more unknown men, Kitty managed to escape, but finds herself lost in the forest. She discovers a secluded house, and her adventures really begin…
Ivarr is under “house arrest”, literally. When Kitty stumbles upon Ivarr within, she awakens him… In more than one way. Is Kitty the one? Can she grant him Forgiveness? Will she, once Kitty discovers who and WHAT Ivarr is?
Wow, what a story! Grabbed me from the first sentence and didn’t let go! Loved it! Can’t WAIT to see what happens next!
Kathrine’s been captured twice and is a strong willed woman who is quick on her feet. She is now with Ivarr a rebel demon who will stop at nothing to keep her safe. This action packed paranormal has a lot of layers that you have to peel back to get to the heart of the story but it is quite enjoyable once you get there.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a great and fascinating read of Demons or Incubi who feed off the emotions of humans. Katherine “Kitty ” has been abducted twice, finds Ivarr who is awakened by her from his Deep Sleep. Together they flee from the Priory and the other Demons who kept her captive. I have really enjoyed this second book of the series. I received this ARC from booksprout and voluntarily left a review.
This is the second book in the Demon Series. You must read the first book Demon Mine before you go anywhere near this book…. not because it can’t be read as a standalone… but because it’s too great not to read…
Kitty aka Katherine is being held prisoner, and sexually toyed with/paraded in front of 13 robed men..they don’t touch her..they just watch…if that isn’t believable enough she figures that they might not be human…if the flashing red and blue eyes aren’t an indicator of otherworldly beings?… when a man coming from a clandestine group confirms her suspicions and that she is to be set free…kitty cannot help but hope that she can get back to her life… until she is kidnapped again!
Taking her chance to escape… she finds herself in an ‘seemingly’ abandoned house… except for the cold lifeless ‘smexcy’ Viking in the bed… who isn’t actually dead ( like she thought) but just a demon in ‘deep sleep’….until she accidentally awakes him.
HAWT DAYUM! this book was fantastic! I loved it! This has been a much much anticipated read for me… I adore the author she knows how to make and create a story layer by painstakingly realistic layer… and it did not disappoint!
I adored Ivarr, his personality was quite that of a cheeky chappie, humour filled and wise and all knowing with a touch of vulnerability that just made him oh so likeable. The interactions between him and Kitty were fantastic and the chemistry that built and developed was phenomenal.
I adore the originality of this author, her books are so well developed and crafted. I have adored every book she has written… Marina Simcoe isn’t an author who is scared to write heartbreaking stories…there is no holding back from the hard emotions… and this book is no exception to that rule.
I adored Ivarr and Kitty’s love story and despite the somewhat sad back story of kitty….it was a very ‘happily ever after’ read for me which made my book pimping mushy heart so so happy. I cannot wait for the next instalment… I’m ready for the Grand Master!!
A delightful new view of demons!
I thoroughly enjoyed this, the second book in the Demons series. Kitty Jones is in the hands of demons, always looking for a way to escape.
I like her. She’s in a tough situation that gets even tougher. She is quick-thinking and resourceful, determined and willing to take chances. Along the way, Kitty learns what she does and doesn’t want in a romantic partner. Personally, I think Ivarr fits the bill!
Ivarr is adorable! He’s more than one might expect from a demon male; strong, beautiful, alluring (of course), he’s a rebel, he knows what’s important, who appeals to him (his Katherine). I love his sense of humor and the lengths to which he goes to protect Katherine from harm.
There are a number of mysteries as yet unsolved in the story (it’s not a cliffhanger). I enjoy speculating about what each of these oddities might mean. Eagerly awaiting the next story in the series!
I couldn’t wait to get back into the Demon world! This story has everything, danger, excitement, fantasy, and undying love! I loved every minute. I was so sad when it was coming to an end. I so hope there are more stories here. Kitty is a strong, fantastic heroine and I loved her demon Viking. I so recommend reading the first In The series though. It really sets the stage for everything.
Marina continues to world build, and expand the plot. Her propensity for writing well rounded characters, and bringing the story forward is what makes me continue to cheer for her. This book has everything I expect from great authors: plot, character building, and imagination. Oh and let’s not forget steam!!

My newly found series obsession.
Yay!!! More incubi and more info!!
Demon Mine opened up a new view on the Incubus, one that I found totally original and fascinating. The Forgotten was eerily painful yet emotionally satisfying as the book goes along.
I am very pleased to see how characters in Demon Mine are still there in The Forgotten, some with some surprises of their own. (I was so glad to see Andras again, and now with Natasha who evidently did say “yes!”)
But this time, it’s all about Katherine and Ivarr, an Incubus renegade on the run with Sytrius (from Demon Mine) on his trail (this is pre-Demon Mine days). We learn much more about the Incubus, but there are still more tantalizing questions yet to be answered.
I think this book is shorter than Demon Mine. It is not as intense or action-packed, but where Demon Mine could had been boring because it is the first of what will now be a series, it feels like The Forgotten is now setting us for upcoming action, one that will put Incubus against Humans who have been controlling them for hundreds of years to the test. And if the Inquisition and the Black Death were bad, I think what’s coming up could be that much worse.
Great going, Marina Simcoe! I can’t wait for the next book! Just don’t schlep through Book 3 just to get to Book 4. I’d wait a year or more for quality material. Just don’t burn yourself out! It’s not worth it.
