She has raised a wonderful son, Dakota; enjoys her work; and finally has a new love. … new love. When Dakota informs her that he is engaged, she looks forward to meeting his fiancée, even as she wonders if 31-year-old Sara Jennings is too old for her “little” six-foot-plus boy.
Secrets never stay buried long, and only God can help Claire find forgiveness when betrayal comes back to haunt her.

This was the first Robin Lee Hatcher novel I ever read and I’ve been a fan of her novels ever since. The Forgiving Hour remains one of my top favorite of her novels.
This book has won multiple awards, and after reading it, it’s easy to see why. One of the best books I’ve read in the Christian market.
Robin Lee Hatcher is one of my favorite authors. Her novels are hard to put down – very suspenseful! Her characters are very realistic and easy to relate to. I recommend this book – but be sure you have time to keep reading until the end!
I read all of her books and am always waiting for the next one. Love this Author! Keep on writing!
Such betrayal and the miserable years it set in motion! What a heart-rending story that wrestles with forgiveness and restoration, under the most difficult of circumstanced.
4.5 stars
This is the kind of Christian fiction I’m always searching for. Deep struggling and learning the heart of God.
This book reminds me of the best of Francine Rivers, Deboray Raney and Brenda S Anderson.
My only quibble was that one of the characters seemed to become a believer too easily. After her lifetime of anger, I would have expected, much more struggle.
This is the third book I’ve read by this author. I’ll be reading others.
Poignant tear jerker.
A lesson in forgiveness and unconditional love.
Great story. Family did function, lost faith and searching.
Author Robin Hatcher has written a beautiful story showcasing God’s faithfulness and His mercy. The characters are well-developed, with feelings that are real and raw at times. I appreciated the storyline with a message of hope. Forgiving others, ourselves, and accepting forgiveness from God is a hard but important lesson and with forgiveness comes freedom. Do yourself a favor and check this one out soon! Author Robin Hatcher’s books are favorites of mine.
I loved this story! It has a very real plot about why we need to forgive and how it frees us, but it isn’t preachy.. The characters are real. Grab a box of tissues. This book will tug at your heartstrings!
I really enjoyed this book!
Page-turner….indeed! I will follow….
A story of love, betrayal, bitterness, grace, and forgiveness. A man’s selfish choices leave his wife and son trying to move past the devastation in their lives, and a young woman lives with hidden shame. An unusual plot twist bring the three together twelve years later. Only God’s love and grace can help Claire, Dakota, and Sara weather this storm.
A very good read that took a lot of faith to overcome the events.
I found this book suspenseful but not in the way we usually think of suspense, I was intrigued with how the relationship between the main female character and her husband’s young mistress would play out. While such a situation may rarely exist, I do believe the novelty of it can hold the readers’ attention as the question becomes: How would I have handled it and kept my Christian testimony at the same time. This is a great read with an interesting twist one would hope to never experience in real life. It definitely gives new meaning to loving and forgiving one another.
I recommend All her books
Very good read. Teaches forgiveness is the only way to truly find love.
I couldn’t imagine anyone dreaming up this story plot and then at the end found it was based on a true story.
Poignant story of heartbreak, betrayal and forgiveness all through the power of God. Realistic characters. Enjoyed their journeys to faith and determination to obey God although some took awhile to submit. Well worth the read.
A beautiful tribute to forgiveness, love & a clean read
Had a great twist I didn’t see coming for some time.
