From the New York Times & USA Today bestselling author, Haleigh Lovell, comes a sexy new romance.“If there is one word that describes The Foreplay as a whole, I would say flawless. Ender and Adelaide will give you life! I was laughing so hard, I cried, but my heart was oh so warm. I’m just so in love with their story! Their relationship is one for the books, and that’s saying something … Their relationship is one for the books, and that’s saying something considering this is a book.” ~ Eb’s Dirty Diary
“When it comes to foreplay, Haleigh is the queen of writing them in this masterpiece of a novel.” ~ Cristina Reads
“Once again, Ender and Adelaide stole my heart.” ~ R. Smith
An athlete. A scientist. A love story.
I’m addicted to her; she’s the real deal and every woman other than her would be a placebo.
Her name is Adelaide and she’s a scientist with a brilliant and in-depth mind that analyzes and dissects everything.
Yep. She knows things. A lot of things.
What do I know?
I know I need to make her mine.
Note: THE FOREPLAY is a deliciously sexy, full-length novel packed with heat, humor, and you guessed it… foreplay. It’s a sequel to THE SLAM (now FREE for a limited time), but it can also be read as a standalone.

“This is a beautiful story of love. The story grabs the reader from the first page and I was unable to put it down. I have to say some of my favorite parts were the very sensual scenes between Ender and Adelaide.” ~ Lori, GRmore
I fell in love with Ender and Adelaide in book one, they were so raw and real and just down right perfect.. or so it seemed.
I’m so glad there was a book two for them. I loved seeing what ended up happening with them. I loved that Ender allowed Adelaide to “explore” and I was so glad things worked out the way they did.
I’m excited to read Edric’s book!!
This story was so much fun to read. I loved Adelaide and Ender. They are a beautiful couple that work very well together. Adelaide is a breath of fresh air in everything she says and does. She’s honest to a fault and when she tells Ender she wants to explore other options, needless to say things don’t go according to plan.
I loved her friends, I loved the whole feel of the storyline and I think the author has done a fantastic job in making me fall in love with the characters. I really can’t wait for more.
There is funny banter, ridiculous lines that make you laugh out loud.! A really entertaining, feel good read!!
This is book two in Lovell’s Hemsworth Brothers series. While it could be read as a standalone, you will get so much more enjoyment out of reading The Slam first. And, I really enjoyed reading both books, so why skip it? I definitely think starting at the beginning of their story is worth your time.
While reading The Slam I really fell for these characters, and getting to see them throughout their relationship was such a nice bonus! I felt like in The Slam we got to see their story develop to the point they got together, but I was left with a few questions as to whether or not it would actually work for them long term. The Foreplay answered all of those questions and more.
This book has a little bit of everything. They made me laugh, they had me caught up in the tension, I hurt for them, and I loved their happily-ever-after! These characters have so much depth. Getting to crawl inside their heads is always a delight. While they were together at the end of The Slam, life isn’t just a bed of roses. This book definitely has its ups and downs as Adelaide and Ender navigate their relationship. This story is definitely a true sport’s romance as we get a good look at Ender’s tennis career and what it would be like to be with an athlete at his level.
Adelaide and Ender stay true to their characters. Adelaide had me laughing several times throughout this story, but she is also her analytical, fact based self. Ender is devoted to her while also trying to balance his new status as a pro tennis player. For the most part, that works well for them, but at times, it gets in their way. Figuring out how to be together when others don’t understand their relationship is hard enough, but when Adelaide begins to question the reliability of their feelings, things begin to take a turn.
One of my favorite parts of this book is the way they really get each other. When they need one another, no questions asked, they are there for each other despite what else might be going on. However, being there for one another doesn’t mean jumping in and rescuing each other. Sometimes it means simply being there until they are able to fix themselves or giving space that is needed to really figure things out. I love that there is a constant give and take between these characters. They both have the chance to be the knight in shining armor from time to time.
This book also has a fantastic group of friends. We get so much more of Miguel (who makes me laugh), Piper (the friend everyone needs), and Edric (who can’t seem to pick a decent date to save his life), and they really added to the story. They were a great support system for this couple, and I can’t wait to see more of them in the future. Hopefully, Edric will find someone worth his time soon, and I would love it if it happened to be Piper!
I also thought the erotic level of this book stepped it up a notch from The Slam. However, it may have just been that the erotic scenes were more meaningful since I already knew Adelaide and Ender. Their sparks haven’t dimmed one bit, and I look forward to updates on them in future books!
I received an advanced copy of this book with no obligations to the author.
These two couldn’t get any sweeter. I loved Ender and Adelaide. This story fast forwards couple years and these two are still going strong. In this story you fall in love more with them. Ender is the alpha swoony almost perfect protective boyfriend. Adelaide is still the quirky beautiful smart girl. These two together are perfect and they make each other whole.
There’s a very slight bump in the road nothing major and nothing to really worry about. Ender handled that situation with so much grace that it will make you love him even more. Adelaide handled it in her own way and it was a bit funny.
But at the end true love prevails and these two are always in each other’s corner. I enjoyed the ending and I can’t wait to read more on these two.
So first things first–Fantastic mention of the fabulous football team the Green Bay Packers–while the character on the team wasn’t represented the best it was fantastic to have that team be in this book.
This book was very funny–I laughed out loud many times during my time reading. One of my favorite parts was See You Next Tuesday–if I had been drinking my phone would have gotten a shower!
I loved Adelaide and Ender. It was so nice to read a book where it was the woman who was unsure of things rather than the man. Ender knew what he wanted sweet Adelaide didn’t. Not until she and Miguel were talking and he made her realize that she was in love with Ender.
They are perfect for each other, accepting each other as they are and not trying to change the other. That is so important in a relationship.
I can’t wait for the next story and I need to go and read the first book as well.
Haleigh Lovell is still a relatively new author to me the first book I read by her was The Slam but I’m loving the Hemsworth Brothers Series which is a sports romance centred around tennis. I love Adelaide and Ender and I was so pleased to be catching up with where life had taken them.
The Foreplay is a continuation of Adelaide and Ender’s story we are back in Australia for the Australian Open and once again Adelaide who has Aspergers is the star of this book, don’t get me wrong I love Ender but it’s hard to compete with such a larger than life character. This book has it all is full of love, romance, laughter as well as some sadness when Ender gets injured and when Adelaide wants to go back home to carry on her shrimp research. This author is so very talented and she did an amazing job getting us to understand how someone with Aspergers thinks and how they relate to things we take as part of everyday life. I love everything about this series the characters I have meet so far and I’m sure I will love the characters I’ve yet to meet, I’m so excited for Edric’s story bring on book 3 Haleigh Lovell.
The Foreplay is the continuation of Ender and Adelaide’s love story. Please be sure to read The Slam before reading this book. The story of Ender and Adelaide begin where they left off in The Slam. Their relationship hits some interesting points, hilarity ensues thanks to Adelaide and her crazy friends Piper and Miguel, and love evolves between the two of them. I laughed a ton throughout this story. I dare you to not laugh at anything Miguel and Piper say. The Foreplay is a great conclusion to Ender and Adelaide’s love story. Great book!!
I absolutely loved The Slam and meeting Adelaide and Ender. I was thrilled to get more of them! Adelaide is such a quirky leading lady and in this book we see more about how she is processing her relationship with Ender and trying to get a handle on her feelings. You probably don’t need to read The Slam before reading this, but I think it makes it more enjoyable to see where their relationship started. This book is about them discovering who they are as a couple and where their future lies. Adelaide wants a career and Ender wants to be a tennis champion. Ender knows that Adelaide is it for him, but Adelaide has questions as she always does. I absolutely loved Ender and his devotion to Adelaide. I loved how he gives her what she needs even though it goes against everything he wants. The story was well told and had some laugh out loud moments. It was a really good read.
A sweet and a perfect continuation from book 1 The Slam. Adelaide and Ender are still going strong in this one. If you’ve read The Slam then you are familiar with the quirks of Adelaide and Enders love of not only tennis but Adelaide too. Let me just say I love the little changes here and there in Adelaide and Ender. You get to see how strong this relationship is when faced with a few bumps in the road. Adelaide is amazing. She doesn’t let being an Aspie get in the way of anything. I love how she questions everything and works hard to figure out the meaning of well everything. Ender is living his dream and has the girl that holds his whole world besides him. He is so sure about their future and I love how he supports Adelaide with the space she needs to figure out what he already knows. He is one amazing guy that you can’t help but fall more in love with him as he falls more in love with Adelaide. These two really stole my heart and made it so full in the end. I love how Haleigh Lovell gives you plenty of laugh out loud moments mixed in with all that goes down in Ender and Adelaide’s world. I for one am dying to see what is in stored for the Ender, Adelaide and Edric in the next book. The Hemsworth Brothers series just keeps getting better. You must pick up this series if you know what’s good for you because you really don’t know what you’re missing out on.
*I received an ARC of The Foreplay by the author for an honest review. No compensation was given.* Where do I begin… Maybe by saying that this book was very well written and the characters well developed, but the story also grabs the reader from the first page, and I was unable to put this book down.
This is a continuation of Ender and Adelaide’s story that started in The Slam. (If you haven’t read The Slam – free on Amazon – hurry there is still time before this book comes out.) This is a beautiful story of love, mutual respect, and unconditional acceptance. I loved that the author took her time to develop the relationship between these two characters which gave the story a very authentic quality. Of course, at times, the road to love can be a rocky yet funny one. Ms. Lovell had me cracking up with all the pop culture references and of course all the supporting characters are hilarious too, Miguel being my personal favorite. I have to say some of my favorite parts were the very erotic and sensual scenes between Ender and Adelaide.
I am looking forward to reading Edric’s story.
“Anywhoozle” this book is not to be missed, sooo what are you waiting for, put it on your TBR list!
So, I have to say, I was a little all over the place here. When there is uncertainty in a relationship, I get nervous. And with this being my first Haleigh Lovell experience (I read The Slam and The Foreplay back to back, so it’s one experience for me), I wasn’t 100% certain of a HEA and that there wouldn’t be something has would be impossible to come back from. Alas, Adelaide and Ender do get their HEA!
Adelaide continues to blow me away. There is just an innocence to her. Something so pure and beautiful that is soul deep. And Ender really has done a lot of maturing and growing. His love for Adelaide, and his acceptance and love for her exactly as she is, there is something so pure about that as well.
I could have done without the “brah” dialogue (I didn’t like it in the first book either, but they were in college, so it was a little more acceptable), between the brothers, but otherwise LOVE!
I like the continuation of Ender and Adelaide story. Every person had ups and downs in life. If you have a soulmate beside you it’s will be much better for you to overcome all obstacles in your life. I want to read Endric’s story.
I loved it! Hot and steamy!
Rate: 4/ 5 stars
Now in a committed relationship with a famous tennis player, Adelaide starts to question her future. After seeing one of the most famous WAGS going from wife to ex, she also starts questioning her love life. Adelaide is known for her questions and her experiments in order to get answers to those questions and now her question is if Ender is her soulmate or if there’s someone else out there for her.
Haleigh takes us on a ride of angst and the real life struggles of a relationship behind the mask of the HEA. She gaves us real and raw. She puts all the emotional turmoil on the page when it comes to these two. And we get to see just what it takes to make a relationship work out in the real world. Ender has no doubt that Adelaide is the one but Adelaide needs to get proof all on her own. When life keeps throwing them curveballs, you see just how much they love and care for each other and it’s in those moments they realise how much they need each other and just how perfect they are together.
Haleigh also gives us more insight on Edric and what’s to come for him.
I read several chapters and could not get into this book. I do not know if I did not read enough or the rest of the book was the same. I cannot give a fair evaluation since I did not read the whole book.
Enjoyable read. Brings your attention to the thought process. Loved seeing the variety and reasons how we all look at life from a different perspective. Not right or wrong, just different. Fun seeing opposites learning each other.
Absolutely one of the best romantic books. Very thought provoking with the personalities of the characters.
This was a good conclusion to Ender and Adelaide’s story. Once again I was hooked right from the beginning. I loved the storyline and the characters. Can’t wait to read Edric’s story next.
I received an ARC and volunteered to leave a review.
What a great read about a woman with a “disability” and a man who sees beyond it. Their romance is full of wit and steam, and written in such a way that you both understand her life view, and respect it.
I read The Slam, which was good, I ordered this book and Adelaide became really boring in this book. Having trouble finishing it.
