more
After quite the struggle in the previous book, I’m finally in love with the series. There’s mystery, lots of twists and turns, and you see B embrace what the future holds for her as Gio’s mate if she chooses to go down the vampire path in life. The time to sit back and read, learn, and research is over, and we finally see more action. We finally get a glimpse at Stephen De Novo, with new and surprising developments. B’s strength really shines as she continues training with anyone and everyone she can, while also showing through her character in how she pushes back against Gio and his stubbornness. The timeline in this book is finally a bit more linear and easy to understand. Usually book 3 in a 4 part series is kind of a holding pattern until the final conclusion and I’m so thankful it was more eventful than that. I still can’t wait for the conclusion though!
Anything by Elizabeth Hunter is a great read!
Elizabeth Hunter has created a world that is entertaining and original. Romantic, exotic places and interesting.
I really enjoyed this book. We are now fully in the mystery, the vampire world is fleshed out and well developed, there was less soppy romance between Gio and Beatrice, which was great for me, and instead much more action.
And Tenzin’s in it a lot more, and she’s great!
The action moves to China; there’s intrigue, politics, and shocks. And Beatrice makes a choice about becoming a vampire. I really like the way this decision rolls out across the book. What’s to lose, what’s to gain, and what would you do?
And now they know what the mystery book is about, and the consequences of its secrets. Loved it!
Loved this series, couldn’t put it down.
This Series Just Keeps Getting Better
When you think this series couldn’t get better, it does. This is the third book in the Elemental Mysteries series and it’s full of great prose. We continue to follow Gio and Beatrice on the hunt for her father and Lorenzo. This eventually leads them to the island of The Eight Immortals. We are also introduced to a new secondary character, Baojia, a water vampire of Beatrice’s many greats Grandfather. He ends up travelling with them to Mount Penglai. Of course, Tenzin, one of Gio’s best friends, is featured more in this book. She’s a gem, a mighty force in a small package, and hilarious to boot.
This book is so well written, it is so hard to put down. I don’t know how Elizabeth Hunter keeps coming up with these works of art. I cannot fault anything, since everything written is done in such a way, that you could just imagine yourself there in the pages. You almost feel like you are standing there and part of the story. I know when a book is that good, when I can’t wait to get home from to pick the book up again. Or I find myself thinking about it when I’m at work. I will be picking up the last book in this series.
