From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the This Man series comes a “brave, cutting-edge romance” (Library Journal) that begs the question: what would you do if you fell in love with someone you can’t have?
Annie has never experienced the “spark” with a guy — the kind of instant chemistry that steals your breath and blindsides you completely. Until a night out with friends brings her … a night out with friends brings her face to face with the wickedly sexy and mysterious Jack. It’s not just a spark that ignites between them. It’s an explosion. Jack promises to consume Annie, and he fully delivers on that promise.
Overwhelmed by the intensity of their one night together, Annie slips out of their hotel room. She is certain that a man who’s had such a powerful impact on her and who could bend her to his will so easily, must be dangerous. But she’s already in too deep. And Jack isn’t only dangerous. He is forbidden.

There has never been a more fitting title for a book as The Forbidden. Jodi Ellen Malpas took on the challenging and taboo subject that so many authors shy away from. She did the forbidden – and she made it work!
The complexity of Jack and Annie’s characters is awe-inspiring. What I loved the most was the way the heroine was written. Annie’s struggle with morals and boundaries could not be more real. The tug of war that she had with her conscience was painted beautifully, creating many very real moments that will tear at reader’s heartstrings. I couldn’t help but to put myself in Annie’s shoes and wonder what I would do if I were in her position. There were so many twists and turns, with quite a few laugh out loud moments, to entertain even the most harshest of critics. It’s not often that I get lost in a hero and heroine so much so that I can actually feel their emotions. Yet, with every chapter, my heart ached more and more for Annie and Jack. Fate threw them a twist, one that neither anticipated, but it could happen to anyone.
Hats off to Jodi Ellen Malpas for creating this fantastic, if not unexpected, love story. The Forbidden is powerful, beautiful & captivating! The intensity of Jack & Annie’s forbidden love stole my heart! It’s my top read for 2017 and is a must read!
I loved the truth of this story. Not for the faint of heart as it deals with a subject matter that some do not want to read about. I enjoyed a real story.
Freaken LOVED this book!!!
An amazing read with all the feels.
I was totally looking forward to this release and it exceeded my expectations.
BRAVO! to the author
From page one I was hooked. Could not put it down. The flow of the story splendid. Introduction to all the characters was perfect and I loved them all (well there was 1 BiatCH I didn’t like).
Captivated by Jack & Annie and their story, their struggle, decisions and consequences.

I just finished and I’m like WOW!
Jodi has done it again The Forbidden.
This story we meet Annie and Jack in this standalone novel they meet of a night of drinking. With the title of the book in mind The Forbidden (forbidden) means that not allowed not expectable banned. But who is to rush to judge when you are not in their shoes. I feel that Jodi’s writing this was brilliant. She took a topic that people find taboo so there will be a lot of opinions on this one.
In this story 29 year old Annie meets Jack at a bar while taking a much needed night to her self. She is a hard working architect who throws herself into work. She has never really felt that spark with a man before with the chemistry and the feelings that blindside you. Then Jack walks into her life and gives her the biggest blindside that she has ever experienced. He is mysterious and wickedly sexy he is gentle and protective and overbearing and married with this said its not for every reader. This book is not your typical love story, but it is intense, passionate and very much about love.
The relationship between Annie and Jack is full of passion and their chemistry is off the charts but the twinge of guilt isn’t far off in their minds. In this story you find two people who complete each other. The push and the pull of the hero and heroine was intoxicating.
I feel this book is different from the JEM stories that we are use to it doesn’t disappoint by any means. This story felt more emotional, more relatable, more subdued in it’s romanticism. This is not the normal Alpha males that we know so well from JEM’s Heroes. Jack is sexy in a more reserved way, a character who’s a bit broken, definitely sweeter. The Forbidden, in all its deception and all its ruthless heartache, felt like such a refreshing change
I love love JEM’s work this one didn’t disappoint at all.
