Gahhhhh this story was just beyond beautiful and intense. I loved Holly’s heartbreaking and incredible journey. This is the first book by this author and her storytelling was captivating and addicting. This definitely won’t be my last read by this author.
This story was breathtakingly gorgeous. So many moments were heartbreaking, and yet at the same time, they were thought-provoking. AR Hadley has a style that forces you to reevaluate what you’ve always thought and felt. At times I felt like screaming, and at others I felt like holding those I love close. Holly’s choices and consequences of said choices are felt through the pages. Kelley forces her to see life differently than she ever thought she could. Because if you really do love someone, you have to let them go…
I received an Advance Reader Copy of the book. This is my honest and voluntary review.
A flurry of mixed emotions propelled me through this book. The writing is lyrical and I loved that poetry was interspersed throughout. While the story is narrated in third person POV, it’s only told from Holly’s perspective and I really could’ve used more insight into Kelley’s character. I found myself constantly shaking my head at the folly of both characters, and yet I could not stop reading. These are two people that clearly should not be together but the pull between them is undeniable. The Flyaways is a very unique depiction of a very emotionally dysfunctional and sexy as hell relationship. 3.5 out of 5 wine glasses.
Despite the fact that I do not like books that have cheating in them, I really did enjoy this book. I really loved the poetry that wove throughout the story. It was so beautiful. Professor Kelley Nicolo is pretty narcissistic and controlling in my opinion, and Holly pretty much does whatever he wants, no matter what he may have done to her in the past. He tends to use her most of the book. Still a good read!

This book was one of the first ones I was given for an honest review. I’ve been done reading this book for about three weeks. Why did it take so long for a review? I’ll tell you!
I loved and hated this book! I loved the story line, a Student/Teacher book, oh my god! The characters were so easy to fall in love with. The story flowed and got steamy! It was intellectually stimulating when Professor Kelly quoted poems to student Holly. Her married with children professor! The drama and the angst over their relationship was so stimulating. Do you love, Love Triangles? Wait till the wife gets involved!
The reason for the hate? The only reason I say that is because the HEA takes a long time! Lost years! Not a bad thing really but we as a society want instant gratification and if we don’t get it, we tend to get mad! Does it fit the story line? YES it does!
This was a great read, it’s classified as a novella! I hope there is a second book! I’d love to hear about the lost years! Maybe a third book for the HEA?
The reason for the long wait on the review? To wrap my head around this book I loved! Sometimes books stay with you after you’ve finished reading them. That was this book! How to express my love and hate for it! A good type of hate! What’s the opposite of hate? LOVE
Holly is a college student. Her life changes the moment she steps into Professor Kelley Nicolo’s classroom. Oh the games are on in this story. The two have an instant attraction but Kelley is married and Holly is younger than him. Will these two have a happy ending or will it be just a short spring fling? I liked this story that shows sometimes life isn’t so perfect.

This was my first read by A.R. Hadley.
I’m still trying to figure out my feelings about The Flyaways by A. R. Hadley. I really wanted to love this book. The writing and flow of the stroy was beautifully done and the poetry throughout the book was wonderful, but I just couldn’t get behind the characters – I didn’t feel like I could connect with them. There were so many times I was angry over the attitudes and actions of the characters that I had to physicaly put the book down and walk away. I needed a time out.
That being said A. R. Hadley has mad talent when it comes to writing hot, steamy scenes. So many sexy, fan yourself worthy scenes that really make you feel the heat and the chemistry between the characters. Their desire for one another was tangible.
The Flyaways was a shorty, super steamy read but I lacked the connection with the characters to truly enjoy and love this book. But I’ll for sure be reading more from A. R. Hadley.
This is a well written flawless story, which is about Holly and Kelley, and their forbidden student / teacher relationship. This story is intense, and filled with angst, which all kept me totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author, whose work I recommend for all.
The Flyaways by A.R Hadley was a quick but lacking read.
I didn’t enjoy this book very much, I had trouble believing in Holly and Kelly relationship,I wasn’t emotionally invested in this story.
Even though this book wasn’t my cup pf tea the writing and the poetry were sublime

Warning: Cheating involved. If this a hard limit for you…then don’t read. But, I think you should give it a chance.
Teacher-student romances are one of my top favorites. This is a fast and easy read. Holly and Kelly have somewhat of a complicated relationship. He can be a total A**hole. But, the pull between them is undeniable.
Kelly and his wife have an open relationship, so this makes it OK for him. But, there is more to what he feels for Holly. It comes to a point where Holly realizes his wife will never let him go and he will never pull away from his family. So, she leaves. But, that is not the end of their story.
I thoroughly enjoyed the interaction between them, the push and pull. The emotions. The conflicts and the hard decisions.

This book contains “cheating” so if that’s not your jam, don’t read.
Firstly, let me start with a good point.
It’s one of my favourite tropes, student/teacher, so that is always a plus in my book.
This story was well written, easy to read and plenty of steam. You could feel the desperation the characters felt for each other, their need and desire.
However, I just felt like I couldn’t connect with Kelley’s character and I am still trying to figure out why.
He seemed intriguing in the start and I was excited to see where his story went…. but, I never felt the connection I need to get really invested in a story.
Having said that, the ending was great and very sweet.
There will be plenty of people who really adore this story.
AR Hadley once again puts poetry to paper and her flawless writing and storytelling ability has yet again held me captive. The journey of two souls who loved fast, deeply and furiously their instantaneous connection felt with every line read….holding my breath wanting more and more. As they couldn’t get enough of each other I couldn’t get enough of them. I fell in love ..between the lines and I fell in love when lines were crossed even more. Love ….. is …. love. It knows no rules, no boundaries no faults. It isn’t privy to justification. Kelley (Professor Nicolo) and Holly have the kind of love that knew no time frame nor boundaries. What a beautiful love story.
Let me say this….Kelley is not the romantic kinda guy, he is the blunt in your face this is what I want and I know you want it just as much kinda guy. So if you have issues with guys who are dominate a bit crude and 100% honest, you might not like Kelley. I did. Took me a minute to understand and not judge but I got it.
Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to read this book for you and for giving us Kelley and Holly’s story.
Go get lost in this book tonight.
This is my first book by this author and one that will have me coming back for more. The Flyaways is a forbidden love, one that is emotional, angsty and will pull you in with the force of the connection between the characters. You will get angry, frustrated and at times your heart will ache. Their story will make you think long and hard. Sometimes fate throws people in our paths and we just can’t turn away. The epilogue will have you in tears but it will be so worth it. A story packed with an intensity that you will never expect.
Crap, crap and crap. I fell in love with all the dark and angsty actions of the two of these characters and I was pulled into their dark obsessions with each other. The forbidden and the taboo. The lines get crossed into what is right and what is wrong. To flow into the emotions so strong that they blur the lines of what you know and feel. I was blown away with this story and wish it had lasted longer.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
