This is book two in the Romance In Rehoboth Series and it was just as good as the first book! This book was one of those feel good books that has a good message and i liked it alot. The main characters Andrew and Sonnet were great! They started off as enemies in high school and later they learn that they inherited a property together. Do they feel the same dislike about each other? Will they be able to get past it and move forward with flipping the property? You will have to go get this book to see. I would recommend this to anyone that loves romance that have a feel good story!
Happy Reading!
The Flip (Romance in Rehoboth #2) by K.L. Montgomery
5 of 5 Stars
The Flip, is a home improvement enemies-to-lovers story and is a fun read with a sweet romantic storyline and plenty of comedy. It has a strong, quirky heroine, Sonnet and a down to earth man, Andrew who loves the independent lady. Although book two in Montgomery’s ‘Romance in Rehoboth’ series it can be read happily as a standalone story and does not need to be read in order. I thoroughly enjoyed this story, the characters are likeable and relatable and I felt immersed in the beautiful setting described by Montgomery of Rehoboth beach.
The Flip, focuses on Andrew and Sonnet who have hated each other since they competed against each other for the top scores in high school. They are both shocked when ten years later they are both named heirs to a quaint beachside cottage in Bethany Beach, Delaware. The house belonged to Penelope Vaughn, Andrew’s Great Aunt and Sonnet’s next door neighbour who was more like family to her. Unfortunately the cottage needs a lot of work and so Andrew and Sonnet decide to do the place up and as they spend time together they find their feelings change and go from enemies to lovers, it’s a sweet and funny romance. The Flip has a well-deserved happily ever after but only following plenty of drama and crazy shenanigans and some laugh out loud moments, and plenty of steamy scenes all with the background setting being the stunning Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
Andrew Clark and Sonnet Jayne have known each other for years. Pretty much since childhood. Sonnet grew up next door to Andrew’s Aunt Penny. They went to the same high school and Andrew was forced to invite Sonnet to his birthdays. Once an incident in grade school put them on opposite sides of the fence it has been that way ever since. They both grew up nerdy but Andrew was a bit of an athlete so they ran in different social circles. When Andrew’s Aunt Penny died she left the house to both of them. They each plan on fixing it up and selling it to fund their individual dreams.
This book is full of interesting characters. From the crotchety old neighbors, the grass Nazi neighbor and the gay neighbor who can’t remember their names to the friends which include the band members, the best friend who is a cop and the sexy roommate. It doesn’t take much for one or all of these people to ramp this book up.
On the other side Andrew and Sonnet have a slow and I mean slow seduction. They each have different incidents (millipede or trips to Lowes for example) that help bring the other closer to them and make them start looking at each other in a new light. While I thought certain parts of this were interesting I would not say it’s a super funny book. I really did not feel much of a connection for either of the characters for most of the book. I did feel gratitude when Sonnet did a very nice thing for Andrew especially since all they had was animosity between them previously. I think she was trying to be a better person and live in the moment like Aunt Penny used to tell her. The story really picked up a little more than half way through and nearing the end I could hardly put it down to feed the dogs. I kept telling them” just one more page…”
I do like Aunt Penny’s advice….always say Yes….that really gives me something to think about.
Andrew’s great-aunt has left him a house, well half of a house. He has to share it with his childhood nemesis, Sonnet, and they plan to fix it up and sell it. From 8 years old and up, these two competed against each other in everything from a spelling bee to who is chosen to be class valedictorian. For years, Sonnet has been picked on mercilessly by Andrew and she is not looking forward to a summer spent working on the house with him. He’s probably just the same mean jock he was in high school. And as far as Andrew is concerned, Sonnet is probably still the same chubby girl with coke bottle glasses. Imagine their surprise when they see each other after so many years. As time passes working on the house, the two are surprised at how much the other has changed, and a companionable friendship evolves. Perhaps Great Aunt Penny knew what she was thinking when she left these two her house.
The Flip was a lot of fun to read, I loved the banter between the two of them and I loved the tension. I appreciated the fact that Sonnet is a leader in her field of Engineering and Astrophysics, and that she wants to share her love of Sciences with kids. It was nice watching the change in Andrew as Sonnet made more of an impression on his life and vice versa. The Flip was a ton of fun to read between light-hearted moments, to funny moments, and the swoon-worthy moments in between.

Sonnet is a career driven perfectionist. Andrew is a late twenties bartender who lives with his parents. Sonnet and Andrew grew up together and have hated each other for years after competing for every academic achievement in their school careers. The only thing that kept them close during school was Andrew’s Aunt Penny who was Sonnet’s next door neighbor. Aunt Penny has big plans in store for them and the trouble ensues! This book was such a fun, quick read! I love the whole enemies finding a common ground and becoming friends trope, especially when it involves such interesting characters as Sonnet and Andrew. This is the second book in the Romance in Rehoboth series, but doesn’t necessarily need to be read in order. I recommend reading “Fat Girl” first so you get a better feel for some characters that are in both books. Sonnet is such an amazingly bright and complex character to read about. I loved hers and Andrews’ passions in life and how driven they are by them. This book truly was just enjoyable to read! I give “The Flip” five stars!!

Book 2 in the Romance in Rehoboth series, The Flip tells the enemies to lovers’ story of Andrew and Sonnet. After reading the first book in this series, I was surprised and happy to see that this book was more of a “romance”. Not that the first book was bad (far from it), it was just this book was more my style. I was pleased to see that Ms. Montgomery does stick to her body positive theme and enjoyed this book very much.
Andrew’s great aunt has passed away and to his dismay, he finds that she has bequeathed her home to him and his childhood nemesis Sonnet. From the time they were 8 yrs. old, competition has been the name of the game between these two. How are they expected to fix up a house together without killing each other? Much to their surprise, they come to the realization that they are not the same people that they were. Maybe it’s time to put the past behind them and see what the future holds?
Another great read from Ms. Montgomery. The Flip was entertaining and light-hearted. Thoroughly enjoyable to read, the characters were fun and the flow of the book was perfect. Ms. Montgomery has a knack for catching the reader up in her books and providing hours of entertainment. Can’t wait to see what the next story brings!
The Flip is the second book in the Romance in Rehobeth series by K.L. Montgomery, and it s a contemporary romance novel. The story is about a young man named Andrew or “Drew”, and a woman named Sonnet, who are both 29 years old, have known each other since they were young children, and used to hang out at Andrew’s Great Aunt Penny’s house after school and all day during the summer. Sonnet and her parents used to live next door to Penny until her parents sold the house and moved to Florida while Sonnet was in college. Aunt Penny recently died and left her house that is a couple of blocks from the Rehobeth Beach to Andrew and Sonnet. Andrew and Sonnet were “mortal enemies” when they were growing up. Andrew used to tease Sonnet all of the time, especially when his friends were with him. As they got older, Andrew developed a crush on Sonnet, but he would never have let her know about it. Sonnet was a bit overweight, had acne, frizzy hair, and wore thick glasses, back then but she has always been very smart. Sonnet was her high school class’ valedictorian, with Drew coming in second by only a hair. Drew was naturally smart, never having to study, he was the quarterback on the football team, and he could make friends with just about anyone. On graduation day, as Sonnet was walking up to the podium to give her valedictorian speech, Andrew stuck his foot out and tripped Sonnet, causing her to fall across the stage. Sonnet was extremely embarrassed, but she got up and gave her speech, but she’s hated him ever since. Andrew is not too fond of Sonnet either since she always has to be right. When he sees her in the lawyer’s office he is shocked, one of the reasons being because she is so beautiful that he almost doesn’t recognize her. Sonnet has lost a lot of weight, her hair is straight, her skin has cleared up, and she is wearing contact lenses. Sonnet recognizes Drew but he is not as fit as he had been when she last saw him, in fact he’s actually put on a few pounds since high school. After the lawyer gives them each a key to Penny’s house, they realize that if they both want to get the house sold and split the money between them, they must somehow learn to get along and restore this house together. Can Sonnet and Drew get along long enough to flip Aunt Penny’s house?
I really enjoyed this novel from K.L. Montgomery. The chapters were written in Andrew and Sonnet’s point of view which gives the reader a unique insight into what the characters are thinking. All of the characters that we meet in this book have depth and are interesting. The story is interesting, entertaining, is not predictable, and sometimes caused me to laugh out loud. I highly recommend this novel.
The Flip by K.L. Montgomery a four-star read that you will flip over. This is the second book in the Romance in Rehoboth series and they are all stand-alone but do feature characters from the series, I have read it as part of the series and enjoyed it as such. I would have loved to have given this five-stars as it’s a really great story, but something stopped me, and I can’t put my finger on it. Overall it was great, but there are just a couple of moments that let it down for me. But that being said there are some of the greatest moments in this that involve an alligator ever written, you will be laughing out loud with this one. Sonnet and Andrew have a romance written in the stars, but it takes a lot to see the stars sometimes. I am excited to read this whole series.
The Flip was a great, fun read. It was the classic love story of rivals falling in love. The characters of Sonnet and Andrew were awesome people and the story about them was downright hilarious. I truly enjoyed the story and thought it was a good read. The only thing I would add is that I didn’t feel like Sonnet had to give up her life in order to be with him. But otherwise, it was good!
The Flip by K. L. Montgomery is a five star novel and the second novel in the romance in Rehoboth series. I have not read the first novel but still felt like the characters were developed and able to be loved just the same. When these two high school nemeses meet again as adults, they cannot believe they are thrown back together again. Andrew’s aunt knew what she was doing when she left her house to both him and Sonnet. They have to find a way to work together to make the house inhabitable again. This book will bring you back to your twenties and make you feel how they must be feeling right now. I am excited to go back and read the first novel and then move on to the third!
So freaking cute! The Flip is the second book in the Romance in Rehoboth series by K.L. Montgomery. You do not have to read the first book to read this one. This can be read as a standalone. Sonnet was a little overweight in school and super nerdy. Andrew was a jock and kind of a clown. They grew up together and basically, they were rivals. They didn’t get along at all! Now almost 10 years after high school ended, Andrew’s Aunt Penny has passed away and has left her beach house to both Sonnet and Andrew. So for the next couple of months they have to work together to get the house in order to be able to sell it. However, Sonnet has grown out of her chubby stage and is a bonafide Rocket Scientist. Andrew is still kind of a clown and has gained a few pounds. He works as a bartender and musician. Of course this story is a HEA! This story truly is sweet and I love the chemistry the two have together and I love all the secondary characters as well. There aren’t any sexy scenes in this book and I don’t believe it needs to have it. There is a lot of eluding but nothing elaborate. Again…totally not necessary. I loved the way that the author wrote this story. The words flowed really well and it was definitely easy to read. It was also a definite page turner. I would, without a doubt suggest this book to anyone looking for this type of story. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!!
The Flip (Romance in Rehoboth Book 2) K.L. Montgomery was a fun, sweet low burn romantic read, that had me hooked from start to finish.
My first read by this author and this series, I drove in head first and I didn’t come up until the last word was read. This is part of a series, but each book is a stand-a-lone. So no worries if you haven’t read the other books.
Sonnet, strong willed, smart and determined. I like her, and I loved to see her slowly loosen up the more time she spent in the house, with Drew and, interaction with their crazy neighbours. She had a spark about her that made reading about her and Drew’s growing friendship/something, all the more fun and enjoyable.
Drew (Andrew), at first, I was a bit put off by him, just because he seemed like a jerk. But again, the more Sonnet got to knew him, the more we did, and it turns out he isn’t that much of a jerk at all. He had a fun playfulness about him, that drew you in and made you sympathize with him. As the story goes on, him and Sonnet finally get to finally see what they where missing, and that, how they complimented each other quite well.
Overall this story is that good feel, late night read that gets you all fuzzy in the insides. With its switching POV’s and smoothing writing style, this is a super high recommendation from me, and I will be checking out the rest of the books in this series.
Happy Reading

First book in the series that I read! It was good this is a great romance that has you giggling and rooting. You smile at the book the whole time you are reading and you don’t want to put this book down for anything. The author has a great eye for detail and making that plot feel like real life! This is a must read again and read multiple times. I definitely need to read more books by this author. Now to go and read the book before this one and find the third one. I definitely want more!!
The Flip is the second book in the Rohoboth series by K. L. Montgomery. So far, all the books I have read by Montgomery has been outstanding. The way her characters flow off the page like your next-door neighbors. This is the second book and it could be a stand-alone as the stories do not intertwine. In this story the high school rivals Andrew and Sonnet end up being heirs to beach front properties. They are trying to put their past behind them to help each other by fixing up the property. There is a connection that is forming but Andrew and Sonnet are still wondering if it is real or is there another reason for them being together just to get far away from each other. There are some major curve balls going on and you will not anticipate the pitch. There is walks and strike outs but wait to see if there is a home run in their end game.
The Flip was a very enjoyable read for me. It’s got a lot going for it- enemies to lovers mixed with summer romance, and home renovations (where of course, anything that could go wrong, did). This story was humorous and heartfelt, with likeable, real characters. I wish there was a bit of an epilogue, because I wasn’t quite ready to let go.
Andrew definitely showed a lot of growth as a person, though some might say he always had it in him, and just needed the right influence. He was a butthead to Sonnet in school (love her name). They were rivals, but he also tormented and teased her. I love their interesting neighbors and feel like his aunt would fit right in with them all. I’d call this a feel-good summer book. I loved it!

This was a nice romantic comedy. It made me laugh and cry a bit. I was always looking forward to what disaster would happen next. Penelope Vaughn passes away and leaves her beach house to Andrew and Sonnet. Andrew is her great nephew and Sonnet is her neighbour’s daughter. The problem is that growing up, they were rivals in school. They were always competing for top spot. Ten years have passed since graduation and they have never crossed paths. Sonnet has become an actual rocket scientist and Andrew, though he has a brilliant mind, made nothing of his life. Both were excited to hear that they inherited a house. Both had dreams they wanted to pursue with the money they would make from flipping it.
Neither realized how much work the house actually needed. They decided to put their differences aside, roll up their sleeves and work towards a common goal, flipping the house. This is where the laughter began. From eccentric neighbours to mother nature’s tantrums, from mishaps with dogs and exotic pets, this book had it all. I was laughing all the way through.
Penelope’s plan to get these two together worked perfectly. I’m happy there wasn’t an instant attraction, I want to jump your bones thing. It was a nice slow build up which I’m sure started when they were kids but neither paid attention to it. As the weeks progressed, their feelings took them by surprise. I really enjoyed the book with it’s craziness and lovable characters.

A fun book that will have you laughing with tears. I simply enjoyed reading about Sonnet and Andrew. They grew up hating each other but with a little time and maturity they came to understand each other. The author did a really good job developing these characters. Sonnet is sweet and hard working. She is a leader in her field and loves to share that with kids. Andrew did a lot of growing and I believe Sonnet played a large role in his growth. I love the beach and would enjoy waking up every morning to the sun over the water. Andrew’s aunt had the right idea leaving her property to these two. Love is a crazy emotion and everyone displays it differently. I loved reading this story it truly shows how you can’t judge someone for how they used to be. That everyone deserves a second chance.
The Flip by: K.L. Montgomery was one of the best books I have read in a while. I loved the characters and the chemistry between them with their history it was fun to watch their characters unfold. I really enjoyed this author’s writing style and cant wait to read the other books in this series. I can definitely say after reading this book I am a K.L. Montgomery fan and will continue to read books by this author.. I give this book a solid 5 stars.
The Flip was a good 4 star read and is book two in the Romance in Rehoboth series.
What do you do when the person you hate becomes a co-owner of the same house as you? Andrew and Sonnet have a not so great past from high school, when they find themselves in an odd predicament they choose to fix up the home and sell it. Sounds easy right? Not so much.
These two have such a connection that they try to deny in the beginning, eventually they decide to give a little summer romance a try. Will it stay just a summer thing?
I was pulled right in and couldn’t stop until I was done. I loved all of the characters, they added a great element to the story. Both Andrew and Sonnet grew on me, I loved her sassiness. There was something lightening about reading this book, I had so many LOL moments. If your looking for a good fun read, this is your book.
