Andrew and Sonnet hated each other in high school. Always rivals for the best grades and top academic honors, there was no love lost between these two nerds after graduation.Ten years later, they’ve both been named heirs to property in Bethany Beach, Delaware, after the passing of its owner, Penelope Vaughn. Ms. Vaughn was Andrew’s Great Aunt and Sonnet’s beloved next door neighbor growing up. … growing up.
The quaint beach cottage needs serious work before going on the market. Andrew and Sonnet are both willing to bury the hatchet in exchange for drills and saws, especially since they stand to make a pretty penny with the beachfront property, which will finance Drew’s dream of opening a business and Sonnet’s plan to earn her doctorate in astrophysics.
But when they face a multitude of home improvement obstacles, will these two former adversaries be able to pull off a successful flip? Or did Great Aunt Penny have something else in mind with her bequest?
The Flip is Book 2 in the Romance in Rehoboth Series, where the ladies are strong and independent, and the men are actually nice guys. These delightful romantic comedies are set against the backdrop of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware’s top vacation destination.

The Flip is the second book in the ‘Romance in Rehoboth series by K.L Montgomery. It was such a fun read, one of my favourites that Ms. Montgomery has written. It is a light-hearted read, but with just the right amount of drama and tension to really keep things interesting. This is a superb contemporary romance, with a enemies to lover aspect to the storyline. This book can be read as a standalone, even though it is the second book in the series, as the series is made up of standalone stories- where each book centres on its own particular characters/couple, but the common factor is that they all are set against the backdrop of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Having said that though, I really do recommend reading all the books- because they are wonderful stories in their own rights, and help to paint a larger picture.
Sonnet and Andrew have an interesting history. They have known each other since childhood and had developed a bitter rivalry between them. Their dislike of one another ran deep. Since graduating high school, both moved on with their lives and haven’t had any contact for the past ten years.
Now, out of the blue, they have both inherited the same beachside cottage. The house needs some work to bring it back to life and Sonnet and Andrew are at a point in their lives where they could both use an influx of cash to help them chase their dreams- so renovating the cottage and getting it sold would help accomplish this.
But can these two put aside any animosity and find a way to work together to make that happen- or will all the old feelings come bubbling to the surface? What happens when these two have to spend so much time together on their shared project? And will they survive the flip?
As I have said many times now, Ms. Montgomery is a very gifted storyteller, who is easily able to pull readers into her story and keep them connected to the storyline and characters- completely hooked from beginning to end. I love how her story depicts characters that are realistic, believable, relatable and endearing.
As with all her other books, this is really well written, with a clever and fun story that helps to make it stand out from others in the same genre.
Bring on the next book!!!
Thank you, Ms. Montgomery!
KL Montgomery is an automatic one-click author for me. I am always finding things I can relate to in her characters. This book was not anything different and I loved every second of my time spent at the beach with Andrew and Sonnet. This is the perfect poolside read, if you are like me and don’t have access to a beach, otherwise, go read this at the beach!
“Tonight is one of those brilliant sunsets you never want to end.”
The Flip is the second book in the Romance in Rohoboth series, but it can be read as a standalone. I don’t know why you would though because it too is a five-star read! The Flip has the same ring of rom-com that is prevalent in a lot of KL Montgomery’s work. I found myself laughing a lot of the book. Who doesn’t need a little more laughter and love in their lives?
Andrew and Sonnet can’t stand each other, at least that is what they thought at first. High school rivals they were glad to be rid of each other after graduation. Well not for long. Penelope Vaughn has a different plan in mind. Upon her death she gifts her beachfront property to both of them. Penelope was Andrew’s great aunt. Her connection to Sonnet is that she used to be her neighbor that she went to and sought comfort from in times of need.
The house really needs some work. The two feel like they could manage to ‘flip’ the house together. They both could use the money and have the profits set to be used for their dreams. The process isn’t as easy as it sounds though for them. Can they work together to get through this or will they continue to bash heads at every turn? What will happen when they start to see more than an irritant and enemy in each other? Will they be willing to open up their hearts to the idea of love?
I loved Sonnet. Her classy but sassy attitude is very much like myself and I really connected to her on that level. I also loved that she was strong-willed and knew what she wanted. She didn’t back down ever to Andrew and I loved that. We need more strong positive women to read about and represent for the women of this world that aren’t afraid to live in the skin they are in.
“I roll my eyes. I figure by the end of the summer, my eye muscles will be the strongest ones in my entire body, they’re going to get such a work out from dealing with Andrew Clark.”
“Boundaries, Andrew, ever heard of them?”
Andrew was also a fun guy to read about. He is strong willed as well, hence their clashing personalities. He also has a joker personality, and is funny and entertaining. His secret is that he is just a big teddy bear. A soft and sweet heart, and I loved that about him. He really grew on me.
I can’t wait to see what will come with the next book, Badge Bunny! I am sure whatever is to come will be my next obsession from KL Montgomery!!
“I know this look. And I know what it means. And I know what is happening. Every single one of my brain cells is telling me to step back, to turn my cheek, to purse my lips, but my thundering heartbeat is drowning out their pleas. Even my brain can be ignored.”
The Flip was my favorite book in this boxset. Andrew and Sonnet have known each other forever. They have hated each other for most of their lives. When they find out they were both left a house together, what will happen? Will they be able to work together to flip this house and make a decent amount of money? This book was a great read. I loved the banter between the two main characters. This was definitely 5 star worthy. Grab your copy today!!
The Flip is the second book in the ‘Romance in Rehoboth series by K.L Montgomery. This was a fun book and great read; it can be read as a standalone. This book follows Andrew and Sonnet, they end up being thrown into a situation neither expected both inheriting a house. I love how they got thrown together and had to learn to work together. This was an easy read that I got sucked into and wasn’t disappointed. You will love these characters and the story line.
The book follows Andrew and Sonnet. I absolutely love these types of books where characters reconnect after a period of time. Even though they hated each other in high school, they come together years later to flip a house to finance their dreams.
The flip is a brilliant sweet romance one that will have you hooked right from the get go. Well this story made me smile and laugh then the next minute I’m having to hold back the tears it’s safe to say it takes you on a emotional journey. I have read other novels from this author and I’ve never been disappointed and i think this is my favourite so far i really enjoyed couldn’t put it down my eyes were glued to the pages
What’s not to like about the classic enemies to lovers romance plot? The tension, both argumentative and sexual, is always great and the characters certainly know how to play to the tension in the room. The author of this amazing book series has done it once again with genuine characters, witty conversation and vivid settings. Highly recommend to romance readers.
The Flip by K.L. Montgomery was a fun read. This is the second book in the series and definitely stands up to K.L’s writing style. I loved the plot and really enjoyed Andrew and Sonnet. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
The Flip is the second book in K.L. Montgomery’s Romance in Rehoboth series that sweeps you away into the universe of independent and strong women and nice guys in Delaware’s top vacation destination. The writer has promised us that we can read the series in whatever order we want and as I am an organized one, I like to read in order!
The Flip gives us Andrew and Sonnet who have hated each other since they were in high school. You know how you always had this one other student who seemed to be just slightly better than you because teachers liked them better or they were in a right place the right time or … well, maybe they actually were better but still! Ten years after graduation they are pushed together by Andrew’s great aunt and Sonnet’s beloved next door neighbour when she was growing up (and who probably saw more than what meets the eye!).
They have inherited her quaint beach cottage, TOGETHER, so they need to declare a truce to bring it back to its glory so they can sell it and go back to their lives, separate … you can guess how it goes with well laid plans and what the future holds!
The Flip: An Enemies-to-Lovers Romantic Comedy is the second story in the Romance in Rehoboth series by K.L. Montgomery. Andrew and Sonnet competed against each other growing up, trying to get the best grades or trying to get academic honors. Fast forward ten years and now they have both inherited a property that they will need to fix up to sell. They came into this property because it belonged to Penelope Vaughn, who was Andrew’s great aunt and Sonnet’s next door neighbor growing up. It was a funny read watching these two try to forget their past to make this flip work. Maybe Aunt Penelope knew what she was doing all along. This was quite a humorous romantic story that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Book 2— The Flip
Drew and Sonnet old enemies meet up again 10 years later. Become friends with benefits.
Throughout the summer while working on a house together their feelings begin to change.
How will it end? Well you will have to read!
Read The Flip as part of the Romance of Rehoboth Box Set. Andrew and Sonnet’s story was an enemies-to-lovers romance with a STEM heroine and underachieving musician. This book can be read as a standalone but let me tell you one will not be enough. K.L. Montgomery’s characters are always so much fun to read. They will have you giggling over how sweet the romance is. And you are always guaranteed a Happily-Ever-After.
The Flip is following a Sonnet who meets up with her arch enemy but ends up discovering what she truly wants to do in life. After both inheriting a house they decide to reinvent the property and “Flip” it. As they carry out the work on the house, they work on their relationship and it all ends happily ever after.
I loved this book as it is well written, witty stories. I loved the main characters and the strong female characters as Ms Montgomery does not comprise the women in these stories and shows them as having flaws but that they get to find themselves in the story. I recommend this story and can’t wait to read the next book in this great series.
The Flip is a funny, heartwarming enemies to lovers story by K.L. Montgomery. It is the 2nd book in her funny Romance In Rehoboth Series.
In The Flip, Andrew (Drew) and Sonnet who hated each other growing up have both inherited half of Drew’s Aunt Penny’s house when she passed away. Here we have the tale of how the 2 have to work together in order to flip and sell the house. What results is a hilarious tale. Even this simplest of jobs turns into a full scale war between the 2, which is hilarious for the reader.
Needless to say, the both start to realise that the other isn’t the horrible person that they have always thought. I’m sure any other reader would enjoy reading how Sonnet and Drew’ story pans out. I certainly did.
This author always knows just how to pull me in. I love this story it had me completely hooked from page one and I enjoyed going on this house flipping adventure with Andrew and Sonnet. Each character brings something unique to the storyline and pulled me right into their world. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. I enjoyed every minute of this story. Can’t wait to see where the author takes readers next. Five stars all the way and highly recommended!
The Flip is the second book in K.L. Montgomery’s Romance in Rehoboth series. The series is a collection of stand-alone romantic novels that share a waterside setting. As well as a setting, the characters in the different books are connected in various ways and have a habit of popping up in each other’s stories – a great way to get to know them a bit better!
The Flip follows the story of Sonnet and Drew as they attempt the Herculean task of fixing up an old house. I particularly like the characters, who are interesting and have a lot of depth. I don’t usually go for enemies-to-lovers, but was pleasantly surprised in this case!
For me, this is a four-star book. I would recommend this series to fans of cosy, entertaining romances. This book would be particularly good for people with an interest in fixing up houses. The books don’t necessarily need to be read in order (I’ve managed to get them all muddled up and still enjoy them!) but reading them in order would be a nice way to follow the progressions of different characters’ stories.
I loved the second installment of the Romance of Rehoboth series! We met Drew, or Andrew, in the first story as a member of Jack’s buddy and bandmate. This book was fun and witty. The banter between Andrew and Sonnet was something else! I found myself laughing out loud a lot!
Sonnet Jayne is a Rocket Scientist, literally. She is a great example of what women interested in the sciences can be! I loved that the author made her an awesome role model like character. She has changed a lot since her high school days when she knew Andrew.
Andrew Clark hasn’t done much with his life since high school. He bartends in town and plays in a band. Sounds pretty cliche, right? But as Sonnet finds out, there is much more to Andrew. But has he changed since high school?
Andrew and Sonnet inherit a house from Andrew’s Aunt Penny in Bethany Beach. They both have lots of memories with Aunt Penny and at that house. Can a sunmer together flipping her house bring them together?
I truly enjoyed this book and cannot wait for the next one!
This book had me hooked from the very beginning, it was fun, it had Laugh out Loud Moments and it had romance what more could you want! This author has an amazing way with words and in doing so creates a storyline that is brilliant and characters that are relatable, lovable and you really connect with them and can’t wait to find out more of their journey.
The Flip (Romance In Rehoboth Book 2) by K. L. Montgomery
4-Stars
The Flip (Romance In Rehoboth Book 2) by K. L. Montgomery was a fun read. I enjoyed both Sonnet and Andrew. It was a great enemies to lovers read. Both are left as co-heirs to Aunt Penny’s home and have to work together to flip it and make it market ready. They are both in over their heads with the amount of work that needs to be done.
I loved how well the characters developed as the story progressed. They were detailed and realistic. Their bickering was hilarious and several of the scenes had me laughing out loud. The storyline had an easy flow and kept my attention. I recommend this book.
Romance in Rehoboth is a series of romantic comedies by K.L. Montgomery. Each book focuses on the story of one couple or character. They are all set in Rehoboth Beach Delaware, and are wonderfully written. While this is listed as a series, its more of a collection. While the characters overlap a bit, each book can be read and enjoyed as a standalone. That being said, once you read one, you will want to read them all! The characters and situations are realistic and you feel like you are living the story with them.
The Flip, tells the story of Andrew and Sonnet. They were rivals in high school and then 10 years later find themselves thrown back together. They must learn to put aside their differences and get along for the sake of the house they’ve inherited.
