NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • A powerful story about the ways an entire life can change in one night: A flight attendant wakes up in the wrong hotel, in the wrong bed, with a dead man—and no idea what happened. Now an HBO Max series. Cassandra Bowden is no stranger to hungover mornings. She’s a binge drinker, her job with the airline making it easy to find adventure, and the occasional blackouts … adventure, and the occasional blackouts seem to be inevitable. She lives with them, and the accompanying self-loathing. When she awakes in a Dubai hotel room, she tries to piece the previous night back together, counting the minutes until she has to catch her crew shuttle to the airport. She quietly slides out of bed, careful not to aggravate her already pounding head, and looks at the man she spent the night with. She sees his dark hair. His utter stillness. And blood, a slick, still wet pool on the crisp white sheets. Afraid to call the police—she’s a single woman alone in a hotel room far from home—Cassie begins to lie. She lies as she joins the other flight attendants and pilots in the van. She lies on the way to Paris as she works the first class cabin. She lies to the FBI agents in New York who meet her at the gate. Soon it’s too late to come clean-or face the truth about what really happened back in Dubai. Could she have killed him? If not, who did?
Set amid the captivating world of those whose lives unfold at forty thousand feet, The Flight Attendant unveils a spellbinding story of memory, of the giddy pleasures of alcohol and the devastating consequences of addiction, and of murder far from home.

Loved everything about this but I would have liked a different ending!
As I have heard great things about and met the author, I wanted to check out one of the more recent books. This book sounded very intriguing and I wanted to be entertained while I was in traffic. An intriguing story that could happen to anyone. The narrator was able to add flair to the story. A good listen for a long drive.
This review is of the audiobook.
This story has an interesting premise (alcoholic flight attendant with loose morals winds up in a murder mystery and keeps making the worst decisions possible), but is eventually disappointing. The conclusion is simply not believable and throughout the story, I felt this was not the author’s best writing. At times, the plot seemed contrived. I read it to the end, and once I got there, wished I hadn’t wasted my time. I loved everything else he’s ever written.
Enjoyable. The ending felt a bit contrived. Neither cared nor didn’t care about the main character, but for a Memorial Day weekend read, this was a good pick.
After a long day, I like to relax and get into a good story. I teach literature and composition all day. Before retiring, I unwind by escaping into light fiction. I think because Cassie was so unlike me personally, I enjoyed The Flight Attendant immensly. I could not put it down.
Another good Bohjalian book, with his usual surprising twist at the end.
It’s hard to believe the flight attendant could still perform her job, given her indulgences, however. Nevertheless, worth your time.
As a retired flight attendant I found this book entertaining but unrealistic. No way in today’s environment would. A drunken crew member go uncaught.
Could not put it down
Another great read from Chris Bohjalian. Always learning new things from this author, while being entertained. He likes to expand our perception of the world we live in in all his novels
Not my favorite Chris Bohjalian book, but still entertaining and well written.
I did not enjoy this book – at the beginning I thought the story line was interesting but as the book progressed it went off course. There are so many loopholes and unanswered questions with it. At first I thought the book had an intriguing premise but it went off the rails.
Kept me hanging on until the last page!
Chris Bohjalian never disappoints! I COULD have read this in one sitting but I wanted to savor his character and plot development in this page-turner. Totallu relevant in today’s world!
This just didn’t do it for me. There were times it got bogged down and I came close to not finishing it.
I love this author- I count “Double Bind” as one of the best books I’ve ever read- but this book fell a little short. His prose is still magical- I love the way he uses words. But the characters weren’t engaging- I really didn’t care what happened to them- and the main character did so many things I thought were really stupid! I was a little disappointed.
Crazy promiscuous alcoholic flight attendant caught up in espionage and deceit. Unpredictable happy ending.
An easy read that kept me engaged. I liked the dis-functional main character.
As with all of Chris Bojahlian’s books he never fails to deliver
Lyrical writing style. Interesting to inhabit the life of a truly self-destructive personality as a sympathetic character.
It was a good read and stayed fairly unpredictable. Some parts were a little out there but still a good story
