“Entirely satisfying, an expert balance of warmth and compassion, terrific supporting characters, a little steamy sex, and just enough suspense to keep you from guessing how it will all go down.” — Atlanta Journal-ConstitutionA sassy, sexy, sometimes poignant look at small town Southern life, as only New York Times bestseller Mary Kay Andrews can tell it.The Fixer Upper is a must-read for fans of … can tell it.
The Fixer Upper is a must-read for fans of Fannie Flagg, Sophie Kinsella, the Ya-Yas, and the Sweet Potato Queens, and for every reader obsessed with decorating and home repair. It is a truly delectable story of a woman whose professional fall from grace lands her back in a hometown she never knew, amongst a gothic Southern family she’s never met, and saddled with a task she could never have imagined.

This was a great book, so different. Jimmy Maynard was a great character. I kept coming back to it simply for the entertainment value. A great summer read.
Loved it. Great characters who are a little outrageous but still relateable.
There has not been one book Mary Kay Andrews has written that isn’t good! She makes you think and feel without totally bringing you down. Adore her books!
A summer read. Pure escape entertainment.
Great character development! Fun read!
Great character development with very quirky characters. The author made it so easy to visualize the run down condition of Birdsong.

Fun, entertaining, good read…did not want to put down at night!
Great nighttime reading.
I had forgotten how much I enjoy the characters in Mary Kay Andrews’ books! There are strong women who eventually show their softer side, there are men who seem to be badass but turn out to be good friends and sometimes lovers. The Fixer Upper is so realistic in the woes and joys of fixing-up an old house.
