”…fun and fast-paced…Packed with thrills and fun characters…” Ashton, Beauty, Books & Babble“Katerina—I need some help. Be a good girl and come over here and I’ll make it worth your while.”It’s an offer NYC college student Katerina Mills should refuse. But how can she?A desperate situation….After ditching her cheating lover (and boss), she’s stuck in dead end temp jobs. Her dad just … dead end temp jobs. Her dad just ditched her mom and his promise to pay Kat’s college tuition bill.
She has two weeks to come up with $14,000 or she’s out of her apartment, out of school, and out of luck.
A dangerous world….
Katerina falls into a job as a “fixer” for New York City’s wealthy and privileged men. They have problems they need “fixed,” quick and on the QT, and they’re willing to pay.
The rules are simple: collect the money, use your contacts, fix the problem.
Kat’s first job is easy: tail a shopaholic socialite wife. But who’s tailing Kat?
Kat’s second job is not so easy: steal a VHS tape hidden in an antique chest. She can’t do it alone. To be a thief, she needs a thief: handsome, reclusive Alexander Winter to be exact.
Kat soon learns the real rules for a fixer: there are no rules, there are no refunds. Get in. Get results. Get gone.
As every step brings her closer to her goal and closer to danger, there’s one rule left for Katerina Mills to learn: once you’re in, there’s no getting out.

Reviewed this book and The Killing Kind, on Goodreads. These are the kind you can hardly put down and I cant wait for the next one.!!!
This is a fun concept – I’m a long-time fan of regular-person-finds-themselves-in-a-mess stories, particularly when they force people to decide how far they’re willing to go to save themselves/their families. I loved the way this one opened – Katerina was sassy and stepped up and did what she had to do and her snarky take-charge attitude made me think I was really going to love this series.
Unfortunately, things fell apart a bit for me after that…
I think it’s a great concept, and the Kat of the opening pages would be a great character. Ditto several of the others – especially the anxiety-riddled Winter and enigmatic Angel – but I noticed quite quickly that the characters all started out with great promise but then either devolved into trope (Angel) or went so far against character so quickly and with so little warning (Winter) that they felt slap-dash in their presentation. It ruffled the pacing and flow (and believability factor) and made things feel thrown together in a way that pulled me out of the story, even if only momentarily – and in a novella, that’s dangerous ground… Even Katerina herself becomes wishy-washy in the middle – it is a perfectly believable and acceptable thing, to have her get queasy at what is happening, but she goes from zero to sixty, anxiety- and self doubt-wise, and it is a bit jarring (this was my Winter complaint too, by the way).
All in all this is a fun idea that feels a bit rough around the edges, but the writing was otherwise quite engaging and I am cautiously optimistic about future installments. I am curious enough to see where Katerina and her supporting cast go next to try another book, but will be looking for things to tighten up a bit before I can commit to any more than that…

Katerina “Kat” Mills has an idea of what a “fixer” is. She used to help her former boss/lover, lawyer Phil Castle do the fixing for wealthy clients, but she barely scratched the surface of that particular world before she dumped Phil’s ass. Now, working in dead end mind-numbing temp jobs she answers her phone late one night to one of Phil’s clients. Joe Lessing is in a panic. He needs a fixer and he can’t get ahold of Phil. He begs Kat to help and when he offers a substantial amount of cash to do it, she accepts. This event sets off a chain reaction and before she knows it Kat has begun her first real foray into the fixer world. What has she gotten herself into?
I read books. I watch movies. I know what a fixer is. I know there are different aspects of fixing. But this story really puts it into perspective. Kat is in way over her head. It’s not just the reader who knows this. Kat knows it, too. But she needs the money and she’s smart and a quick thinker. So away she goes. Kat is awesome, other characters are interesting (especially Alexander Winter) and the world is fascinating. Kat’s not bad for a newbie, but I’m scared for her. This is a dangerous world and I really don’t like Phil. I do look forward to more books in this series.
I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review.
This book the first book that I have read by this author.
I thoroughly enjoyed the way that this book had been written and drew me in from the very first page and didn’t let go until the final page, but even then had me wanting more.
The main character Katrina is believable especially with the dilemma with regards to needing a job while studying, needing to pay the rent etc
This story follows Katrina on her journey when she accepts a job as a “fixer” and how she stumbles about getting the job done.
It has humour, ethics and some romance. Lot’s of twists and turns that will keep you on your toes and keep turning the page’s until the end.
I’d definitely recommend this book

The alternative to student loan debt
J A Rosenblatt has a hit on her hands! Katerina has a pile of bills to pay, and her tuition is due, AGAIN, and she NEEDS $$ like she needs air to breathe. But the dreams job she never knew existed is gonna solve her problems, easy peasy. She’s become a “concierge” for a select clientele. For boatloads of money, Kat solves their problems, handles their issues, and “fixes” whatever they think needs fixing. She’s a “fixer” – and she soon learns why her services are so lucrative. She does the dirty work n nobody else wants to touch. Suspenseful at times, with enough crazy twists and turns to keep you reading, The Fixer: The Naked Man is a fine introduction to a heroine of a different type. Well met, Katerina Mills!
I was offered an ARC of this book, but have purchased it instead. My review is as usual independent, voluntary, and uncompensated.
“I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review.” Quick read with constant action but I had a hard time connecting with the main character, Katerina. It felt like it was a second book in a series and you missed part of the story. You do get drawn into the intrigue and need to see what happens in the next book.
