My life is a friggin’ fairytale—just not the kind any single girl would ever want to star in.LANEY:Like any good heroine, I have challenges to face. Getting my son to wear pants is one; dealing with my snooze-fest of a job is another. Then there’s the Beast, my freeloading brother who’s worn a permanent dent in the couch at my new place. And no fairytale would be complete without a smoking hot … without a smoking hot prince, of course. Too bad he’s a complete ass.
My instincts scream at me to steer clear of Nate Murphy. Because, if life has taught me anything, there is no such thing as happily ever after.
NATE:
I may not be a superhero, but I do my best to come to the rescue when I’m needed. And, hey, I just moved halfway across the country after a single phone call from my mom. But being back home and taking on the responsibilities involved makes me a bit cranky at times. Unfortunately, the one time I completely lose my cool is in front of the hottest girl I’ve ever met. I’ve got my work cut out for me if I’m going to fix this. But I will fix this.
I’ll be anything Laney Monroe needs me to be … a superhero, a prince, or just a guy she might take a chance on.

Laney Monroe is a mother who is trying her best to provide for her son and help support her brother who has become a permanent fixture on her couch. Laney is working hard to ensure her son has the best upbringing and that means trying to get him to socialize a bit more, which leads her to a not so positive meeting with Nate Murphy.
Nate has come home and is taking over his fathers business. He has a lot on his plate right now and the feisty, yet stunning, woman sees him at his worst. However, Nate isn’t ready to let the instant chemistry goes and comes up with a plan to help her with odds and ends around her house to catch her attention.
This was fun, I liked Nate a lot. Chemistry was good and Laney was pretty funny. Entertaining read
This book is for anyone that enjoys a witty and entertaining read! Full of crazy laugh out loud moments, fantastic characters and realyl well written.
A laugh out loud, crazy family, sexy men, romantic story. Loved each character who’s role got better and better through till the end. A must read!
Love ,Love, Love this writer! As a North Carolina girl myself I was delighted to meet the diverse characters in this series! Sylvie Stewart has pulled me in and has me hoping for happy ever after for many more of the characters still waiting for love.
This story is well written with well fleshed out characters, believable conversations and real emotions. This story has a fun air to it with lots of sarcasm and adult sibling squabbling. I really enjoyed the smart-mouth banter. There was also quite a bit of bad language and steamy sexual situations. For that, I would give this book an R rating. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to share my honest review.
The Fix is an enjoyable story with pretty funny characters. They don’t necessarily have much depth, but sometimes the story doesn’t really call for that. If you’re looking for something fun and light, The Fix will fit that bill.
Realistic. Pacing was stutter stop. Don’t just tell me everything went hunky dorky. Big fight, make up, then next step that’s how it goes. The idea of dragging the proposal to another book while realistic is depriving this book of the HEA and insulting that book because the MCs in that one get the spotlight stolen. Kind of like a proposal at a wedding.
So good I purchased more books from this author
Wonderful story of a single mother looking for love. Enjoyed it.
Caught myself laughing out loud at various points! Enjoyed it and looking forward to reading the others stories.
This was a great book
Ugh— This book had a great base but the actual meat of the story was so slow and really uninteresting to me. I found myself losing interest as I continued to read. I got to Chapter 10 and decided to quit…. first off the brother is so dang annoying and pathetic! I found myself reading and thinking he had no connection to the nephew and he was just all out lazy!
Maybe if I would have read further my attention would have been grabbed or my mind would have changed regarding some of the characters…
Conflict drives plot. This book had little conflict. Only occasionally funny.
A single mom with a brothers boss theme leads to a perfect book. This book has it all. You have drama, heat, comedy and sassiness all mixed together. I loved everything about this book and the epilogue gives us a peek of what’s to come and it sounds great!
I had previously read this book electronically, but I liked it a lot better as an audiobook. It was a lot more fun.
I listened to the Audible version. The narration was great, but a few of the voices seemed like strange choices. It would also have been nice to have dual narration.
Overall, I’d recommend this series. The Fix is a standalone with no cliffhanger and you could stop with this one, but you shouldn’t.
Great Story between Lainey and Nate. Great meet up for these two. Throw in Gavin, Bailey, Fiona and of course Rocco you have a great story.
Its not even funny how many books I read three pages of and then flit to something else. My campaign to finish books in my TBR pile is going well if you don’t consider the fact that every time I finish a book in a series, I add 2-20 more books to the pile. But that is next summer’s problem!
Laney is a single mom living with her irresponsible younger brother and cute 5 year old son. When Gavin’s new boss, Nate, sees that her house needs some repairs he offers to help out around the house. As Nate and Laney realize they are falling for each other, their friends and family are bound and determined to help them become a couple. Cute kid! Great cast of characters! Little too much cussing, but I loved the end! Happy Reading!
Loved it
A very fun read
At 1st I was unsure about this book, and then it turned in to a very good story
