My life is a friggin’ fairytale—just not the kind any single girl would ever want to star in.LANEY:Like any good heroine, I have challenges to face. Getting my son to wear pants is one; dealing with my snooze-fest of a job is another. Then there’s the Beast, my freeloading brother who’s worn a permanent dent in the couch at my new place. And no fairytale would be complete without a smoking hot … without a smoking hot prince, of course. Too bad he’s a complete ass.
My instincts scream at me to steer clear of Nate Murphy. Because, if life has taught me anything, there is no such thing as happily ever after.
NATE:
I may not be a superhero, but I do my best to come to the rescue when I’m needed. And, hey, I just moved halfway across the country after a single phone call from my mom. But being back home and taking on the responsibilities involved makes me a bit cranky at times. Unfortunately, the one time I completely lose my cool is in front of the hottest girl I’ve ever met. I’ve got my work cut out for me if I’m going to fix this. But I will fix this.
I’ll be anything Laney Monroe needs me to be … a superhero, a prince, or just a guy she might take a chance on.

Am buying the series
This book had a natural progression from antagonists to friends to lovers. It seemed closer to real life than a lot of the other romances I have read.
New to me Author. This book had it ALL! I loved everything about it, made my year quite frankly. I couldn’t put it down, the characters were fantastic, the banter was amazing, the interaction in this book was EVERYTHING! It made me laugh and giggle and smile so much I never wanted it to end. Great read!
This is such a funny, sweet, and steamy romance! Laney is a young single mom who has worked hard to raise her adorable son, Rocco, in a good, loving home. Her brother, Gavin, lives with them also and despite his troubled past and carefree attitude, he is a good brother and uncle. Nate is Gavin’s new boss and when he meets Laney, he is instantly attracted to the sweet, fiesty, sexy woman. He offers to help fix a few things around her home to spend time with her and to hopefully win her and her son over, which never is as easy as it seems. Laney doesn’t want to fall for Nate no matter how charming, kind and handy he is. But their fiery attraction is too hard to deny. What I loved most about this romance was how genuine the situations where. Stewart did a great job making all the interactions, including sibling disagreements, feel real and honest. I also loved the crazy sayings and comments that Laney said. This was the perfect blend of humor, heart and steam. There were so many laugh out loud moments, moments that made me swoon, and some that made my heart race. Narrator, Alice Wander did a great job bringing these characters and story to life. I loved her accents, and her expressiveness. She really helped to make this story even more fun and endearing. I can’t wait to listen to more from both Stewart and Wander!
I loved Laney and Nate’s story.
Alice Wander did a great job with the narration. Can’t wait to listen to the rest of this series. “I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review
I absolutely loved “The Fix” audiobook. I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with Laney, Nate, Gavin, Fiona and Rocco. It was if I had a birds eye view into their lives and there was nothing forced about these characters, their quirks or their interactions. Since I spend a lot of time commuting to work each day, I used that time to listen to the audiobook and it really made the time fly. It was such a pleasant surprise to find myself looking forward to my commute. There were even days I sat in my driveway after I arrived home waiting for a “good stopping point” before I went in the house. I cannot wait to start the next one!
This book had me cracking up so much! It’s so hilarious and the characters are all so wonderful. This was my first by Sylvie Stewart and I will certainly be checking out more. Highly recommend
Audio Review: The Fix (The Carolina Connections, #1) by Sylvie Stewart (Author), Alice Wander (Narrator)
Step outside of the fairytale and get a laugh out loud, ironic dose of reality. Stewart continues to make a huge impression on my audio and ereader shelves. The Fix is as sassy as it is sexy, but it also dips a toe in the world of sweetness, a time or two. Nate and Laney are determined to press each others buttons, but what happens when their hearts come out to play? With a dose of common sense and an abundance of humor, Stewart and Wander give readers a lovable, witty, romance.
A southern comedy. Lot’s of swearing and some hot scenes comprise this zany slice of life as a single mother. The characters are great and their quirky idiosyncrasies present and accounted for.
Warning: Reading in public could cause alarm when you smile hugely and sudden bursts of laughter erupt.
Alice Wander is terrific. Adding even a little singing to the story.
I recieved a free Audible copy of this story in exchange for a honest review.
THE FIX is the first book in the Carolina Connections series. Though each is intended to stand alone, they will be better enjoyed as a continuing series in the order of release.
Laugh-out-loud funny, but down to earth real as well. This is a story about how real people meet and interact. How they argue, banter, tease, and love.
The writing is upbeat and romantic. This is not looking for high drama, even while looking at home safety, single motherhood, family commitments, and love in all of its forms (family, friends, and lovers). This is the author’s first book, and I am looking forward to seeing her grow in her career.
Narration: I’ve lived in North Carolina and South Carolina. Alice Wander sounds just like my old neighbors!
Note: While I received this book as a gifted audiobook copy, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

Laney and Nate are adorable.
Neither of them expects to meet someone who fills the empty spaces in their hearts.
Nate is charmed by her spunk, her child, her odd tendencies and her curves. She is drawn to him and discovers he’s a hot guy who is grumbly but sweet and so caring. They’re both on unfamiliar territory. I love his plan to work his way into her life. Their families add to it. Loved it all.
I enjoyed the narrator although I think the story would have benefited from a male narrator.
Sylvie is slowly becoming one of my go to romcom authors! Holy crap on all the sticks. Like I laugh so hard my sides hurt and tears come out of my eye holes.
Loved It
Laney was a single mom who has bought her first house with help of her child support, working full time and her brother lives with her. She used to live with her parents which helped her to save .money. Nate came home to take over part of the business when his dad had a heart attack. Her brother works for Nate, it they meet at the work sure at the end of the road.
Loved this series!
I love this story because it made me laugh a lot. It wasn’t just sexual interest then love there was an actual back story and character life conflicts I loved Laney and Nate together. The supporting characters were a plus.
I sorry to say I could finish this one. I hate to not finish a book no matter how much I didn’t like because an author worked hard on it. All books are not a connection for everyone and this one just wasn’t for me. I’m not one to give up on an author after reading only one of their books so I will definitely give the author another try. Until next time happy reading y’all.
Short review. Light fluffy witty romance. The characters are delightful, Laney’s son Rocco is so adorable it’s hard not to love him. I was slightly annoyed by Laney’s treatment of her brother Gavin, for years he’s been in a slump but he’s been helping her raise her son and instead of being happy for him for starting to get out of said slump. She can’t help but either think or say backhanded complaints about him, I get that she thinks that he needs to give up on ever being a professional baseball player but she could have handled treating him better.
