The phenomenal #1 New York Times bestseller that has sold more than eight million copiesEddie is a grizzled war veteran who feels trapped in a meaningless life of fixing rides at a seaside amusement park. His days are a dull routine of work, loneliness, and regret. Then, on his 83rd birthday, Eddie dies in a tragic accident, trying to save a little girl from a falling cart. He awakens in the … falling cart. He awakens in the afterlife, where he learns that heaven is not a lush Garden of Eden, but a place where your earthly life is explained to you by five people. These people may have been loved ones or distant strangers. Yet each of them changed your path forever.
One by one, Eddie’s five people illuminate the unseen connections of his earthly life. As the story builds to its stunning conclusion, Eddie desperately seeks redemption in the still-unknown last act of his life: Was it a heroic success or a devastating failure The answer, which comes from the most unlikely of sources, is as inspirational as a glimpse of heaven itself.
In The Five People You Meet in Heaven, Mitch Albom gives us an astoundingly original story that will change everything you’ve ever thought about the afterlife — and the meaning of our lives here on earth. With a timeless tale, appealing to all, this is a book that readers of fine fiction, and those who loved Tuesdays with Morrie, will treasure.

Simply beautiful, loved this. Highly recommend.
This book made me question everything I believed in, which was nothing. It taught me that everything happens for a reason, sacrifice, family, love and leaving no one behind is essential to living a fulfilled life. I highly recommend this book as a life tip to young kids and a life lesson for elderly.
I read this book back in high school for English class and it was a good book. The characters were very interesting, all people that the main character has come in contact with at some point in his life. The Five People You Meet in Heaven
I think about this book is that is really INFORMATIVE.
Mitch Albom is miraculous….what else can one say?
Tear jerker
When I first got assigned this book for class when I was in high school, I had no idea what to expect, but I for sure was not expecting to love this book. The start of the story pulled me in and I just couldn’t stop turning the pages. I didn’t even want to stop and write my responses to the chapters in the book, I just wanted to continue. The …
Definitely one of the best books I have read so far!
Shocking, heart felt and very realistic, this book tugs at the reader’s heartstrings and introduces him/her to a world of forgiveness, hatred, pride, love, success and failure. Albom clearly succeeds in shaping the reader’s view on several of the reader’s life’s events and emphasizes on the …
Very good book. I recommend it.
I watched the movie made from the novel first. I had no idea it was more than just a random grab off the video store rental wall. I was taken by the film in so many ways and recommended it to anyone who asked, any good films of late.
Now get to the novel, and the surprise that I had when this fact came to me. I rushed put and bought the novel. …
This book has so many good little gems that you can really use in life. Every time I read it I find something I missed the last reading. It is just so good.
How many times do we wonder if what we do and who we are make a difference? In a world so full of ready distractions, do we even notice the world around us. It seems as of late that so many people go unnoticed. I am looking forward to meeting my five people! Aren’t you?
This is the only book I read twice. I recommend to anyone who hasn’t read it!!!
Love this book as I lost someone very close to me and it gave me some comfort ️
Couldn’t put it down.
This is the perfect book for anyone who is contemplating the bigger questions: Why am I here? What have I achieved? Have I made a difference? It imagines what the answers might be for an 83 year-old fairground maintenance man called Eddie.
It is well written – some sentences had me grinning in appreciation – and never sentimental. The five people …
I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book, going in, but while it was sad at times, the story itself was uplifting, filled with important lessons, food for thought, hope, and redemption. I enjoyed it thoroughly…even the parts where I had to blink back tears while sitting on a full airplane.
I am always inspired to be a better person when I read one of Mitch’s. This one doesn’t disappoint!
Brilliant. If you have a rainy afternoon, and want something quick, easy and inspirational to read, this is the book. I don’t typically read this type of book, but Mr. Albom is the exception. I like everything he writes. MOSTLY, because his writing seems so real. Like he is not writing the words that he is thinking, he is writing the words …
One I will read again. Not what I expected however better than I could have imagined
