Ms. Moore never disappoints, nor do her stories. This story introduces us to Ree and Bram, a couple that seems to have a perfect life and relationship. However, there are a ton of secrets behind their closed doors. Secrets hidden in both of their pasts that turn their perfect life into utter chaos. I don’t usually enjoy psychological thrillers, but this one was a rollercoaster ride that I really enjoyed. The characters are well developed and perfectly dynamic. The story line is fast paced enough to keep me interested but not so fast that I get lost. This book gets a huge 5 stars from me. Get a copy of this one today, you won’t be disappointed!
The First Wife’s Secret is about Ree receiving Simone’s journals. Simone was Peter’s first wife. Peter lost his wife and kids ten years ago. He was at a deep dark place in his life. He met Ree at a bar and it was love at first sight.
Both thought they buried the past, but when Ree found a dead body at a fundraiser Bram grew concerned that someone was out to get him. He’s a supposed serial killer. He was initially accused of killing his former wife and kids. Ree was a supposed psychopath who was accused of faking her illness for profit. Both are running from their past. There lives collided together intersecting at just the right time.
With new names they moved to Percy Bay, a small seaside community in mid-coastal Maine. Ree’s sister lives across the street and owns a coffee shop in town. Bram is a dentist and Ree is a stay at home mother.
This reads much like a cozy mystery with the humor layered in. There’s a murderer on the loose. While it looks as if someone is sending a message to Bram Ree is also receiving messages of her own. It seems neither is able to escape the clutches their past holds on them.
Addison delivered two perspectives one from Bram the other from Ree. Ree’s character revolves around her relationship with her mother and sister while Bram’s character revolves around his relationship with his brother and the neighborhood women who flirt with him.
This is a fast easy read with an original storyline. I’ve read quite a few books by Addison Moore. Her contemporary romances are my favorite. While the writing style is great in this book it’s just okay. It wasn’t the page turner type of story. Although it had some unexpected twists and some fun witty dialogue. It was missing the gripping storyline I look for in a psychological suspense.
This was an amazing book. I so loved all the little twist and turns in this book. It kept me wondering from the first page to the last. I can not wait to read more books like this one from Addison. She has some of the best books out there and this one did not disappoint.

The First Wife’s Secret was a new experience for me with Addison Moore’s writing. While I have read a large number of her books, this is the first really in the suspense genre. Addison’s quality writing style is present, like always, creating a compelling storyline that keeps you guessing.

Fantastic read, well written with a great plot and characters. I was engrossed from start to finish. Plot twists you won’t see coming. I could not put this book down! Best psychological thiller i have ever read! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Booksprout.
An awesome read! So unpredictable and keeps you on edge the whole time. That ending! I found it hard to put it down.
WOW! This is defiantly classified as a psychological thriller. Hold on and wait for your mind to be blown! This book grabs you by the throat and does not let go to the last page. This is one book that you may go back and read again.
Addison Moore never ceases to amaze me. She has so many stories in her head, and absolutely all of them are original, easy-to-read, and the page turners. This one takes the cake, though! Directly from the beginning, I was swept up in Bram and Ree’s present and past. There was so much to learn, and Addison was always throwing loops. I easily fell in love with the characters, and I think anyone will who dares to lay eyes on it! It is a rocky road and you will be second guessing everyone, but I highly encourage anyone to give it a read. Plus, the author is absolutely amazing, and she continues to amaze me with every book I read!
Addison Moore hits this waaaaay out of the park!!
Once you pick this book up, good luck putting it down. Now, i like to pride myself on being able to solve the mystery long before the book gives me the answer. This. Book. Kept. Me. Guessing. And by the end of the book, you will not believe the ending!! (I actually scared my fiance when i suddenly yelled “PLOT TWIST” in a quiet room)
The First Wife’s Secret is one of my new favorite books!! It’s one I plan on buying in paperback to add to my ‘Addison Collection’.
It’s not just a page turner, it’s a, Keep you on the edge of your seat, guessing game!!
I’ve already recommended this book to several of my friends, and now I’m recommending it to everyone!!!
Wow! What a great book! This was a real page turner! And you won’t see that ending coming!
Oh my. This book is amazing and I loved it so much. I couldnt stop reading it. I got hooked from page one.
This story will leave you on the edge of your seat! Just when I thought I had the ending figured out, another tidbit is thrown into the story and I have a different ending playing in my mind! Addison Moore truly leaves you in suspense until the last chapter. This is a must read!
Addison shines in her slaying of the mystery genre. The First Wife’s Secret is a non-stop page turner, that leaves you on the edge of your seat. Ree and Bram both have lead lives nobody would wish upon anyone else. Together they built a solid foundation of a life that is slowly being torn away by dout and fear. The only question is who is causing them to crumble slowly under the guise of it being a woman who is suppose to be dead?
This book is exactly what a good mystery is suppose to offer. Edge of your seat emotional roller coaster, that makes the heart race. Causing the inability to ponder on anything else but solving the mystery unfolding.

***I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.***
I have read many of Addison Moores books and I have loved each and every one. However, this book was just not my style and I could not get into this. This was just not my type of genre and after reading about half the book, I decided I could not read anymore.
As usual, Addison Moore’s writing was impeccable and the story line was great for the part I read, but I just could not get into this. If this is the type of genre you like, then this is right up your ally. Give it a try, but not for me.
Addison Moore has done a wonderful job with this book! It has so many twists and turns. It kept my wheels turning the whole time and the end the conclusion was not what I would have ever expected!
Bram and Ree seem to have a wonderful relationship. Married with two kids and they seem to have it all….including each of their own pasts they’d rather not revisit. They decide to leave town and start over away from anything that reminds them of their pasts. It’s never that easy though, is it? When dead bodies start popping up and creepy anonymous emails are being received doubts will arise. Do Ree and Bram really know eachother like they think they do? Do they even know themselves??
While I had started reading Addison in her Celestra series, I have quickly learned that she is not limited by one genre. While she can make you swoon with her romance, she can also leave you on the edge of your seat with her mysteries. Now tackling psychological thrillers, Addison knocks it out of the park, keeping you on your toes in this book and blowing your mind in the end. I have never been a huge fan of this genre, but being a fan of Addison’s I gave it a shot and am not sorry I did. Definitely opened my eyes to the beauty a good thriller can offer.
