When Mitch McDeere signed on with Bendini, Lambert & Locke of Memphis, he thought that he and his beautiful wife, Abby, were on their way. The firm leased him a BMW, paid off his school loans, arranged a mortgage, and hired the McDeeres a decorator. Mitch should have remembered what his brother Ray–doing fifteen years in a Tennessee jail–already knew: You never get nothing for nothing. Now … the FBI has the lowdown on Mitch’s firm and needs his help. Mitch is caught between a rock and a hard place, with no choice–if he wants to live.

This legal/crime novel proves, again, that nothing is ever free! The twists and turns have the reader reeling from almost start to finish!
Still is one of the author’s best works.
All of his books that I’ve read are good..
Interesting read.
i own it
What can I say? I’m a big fan of John Grisham
One of the first of many good reads from John Grisham.
Great story. Couldn’t put it down!
good book
One of my most favorite authors!
One of the best fictional legal thrillers I have ever read. The suspense just keeps pulling you in right to the end. The film was also very good. Highly recommend this book and the film.
Enjoyed this …did not wish to put down.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Written by a lawyer, it gives the reader a glimpse into what that life could be like… with a little extra drama to spice it up. Great characters, great story.
Again, John Grisham does it as only he can do. Two thumbs up!
Liked the characters and the law firm setting. Makes you wonder in these times of corruption.
The first Grisham book I read and one of his best. Keeps you turning the pages through the night.
Written back when Grisham was more focused on legal matters … Liked it very much – wish he would go back to topics such as this.
Great read and wonderful characters.
Excellent read with wonderful story line.
in one word Great!
