The genre is unusual but it’s basically a fast-paced, action-packed dystopian story. Although sometimes predictable, I enjoyed the character development. I loved the style of writing, and there was lots of suspense. Great world-building – don’t judge a book by its cover!
The Finder Of The Lucky Devil (The Lucky Devil Series Book 1) by Megan Mackie
5-Stars
The Finder Of The Lucky Devil (The Lucky Devil Series Book 1) by Megan Mackie was an exciting and fun read. I seriously could not put this book down. I loved the cover and felt it was eye catching. The storyline was creative and had good flow. I absolutely loved Rune. She had such a wonderful personality. The opening scene featuring a past event had me at the edge of my seat. She was spunky but also was not afraid to let her guard down. She gave others second chances and was honest with herself. This was such a great read and I easily give it 5 stars. I highly recommend it.

4 of 5 Stars
A cat and mouse chase mixing adventure, mystery, suspense and romance this book had it all and had be hooked from page one. The first in the ‘The Lucky Devil’ series by Megan Mackie, the book is set in an alternate Chicago, where technology and magic are in competition with each other. This is a urban fantasy/cyberpunk novel with a fast paced storyline and some great characters. Rune Leveau has magical talent and is approached by a “charmingly dangerous, cybernetically-altered, corporate spy, St. Benedict”, to help find a missing criminal, Anna Masterson. Rune is happy to help but there is just one problem, she is the elusive Anna. St Benedict is determined to find ‘the finder of the lucky devil’ who he believes has the Masterson Files, a computer program that can cast magic spells and would reshape the world, he just needs to find Anna.
An entertaining read, I was pulled into the alternate world that Megan Mackie creates and was fully immersed in Runes world. A great start to a new series, and I look forward to returning to Rune’s ‘Lucky Devil Bar’.
The finder of the Lucky Devil, is book 1 in the Lucky Devil Series From author Megan Mackie. This is my first read from this author, and a greatintroduction to her writing techniques, characters were interesting and new. This story was well thought out. I enjoyed stepping out of my own comfort zone and giving this story a try was great
I was given a review copy of this book, and I wasn’t told what to expect from it. No summary, no background, just asked to read it and then decide if I might like it or not, and whether or not I thought it could be defined as a Paranormal Romance. I think it could definitely fit in the category of Paranormal, Fantasy, and building up into the Romance category. I liked that it didn’t immediately jump into romance, guy sees girl, girl sees guy, they fall head over heels in love. I like that there was a chase to get to that point. They have to work for it. And I can see it’s building up in the series. But it’s also giving us an entire other story to go with it as well, and I like that as well. I’m trying not to give everything away. Haha. I think you will really like this book.
Great fantasy read
The Finder of the Lucky Devil by Megan Mackie is book one in the Lucky Devil is a great paranormal fantasy read. This book is packed full of suspense, mystery, adventure, magic and mythical creatures. This book had me hooked from the very beginning and kept me hooked to the very end. I fell in love with Rune and I guarantee that you will too!!! This was a great read and if you’re looking for something a little bit different them this book would definitely be right up your alley. I give this book 4 stars.
The finder of the Lucky Devil, is book 1 in the Lucky Devil Series From author Megan Mackie. This is my first read from this author, and a brilliant introduction to her writing techniques, characters and compelling storylines.
This author has created such an extraordinary world within this storyline with her brilliant world-building, brilliant descriptions that help you mentally visualise the world that you are reading in your mind! This book was action packed from the get-go, and pulled you in completely, and had you on the edge of your seat with its various twists and turns throughout. This read is a brilliant take on the paranormal/fantasy genre. It’s filled with action, adventure, mystery and magic and some incredible main characters. This book flows seamlessly from chapter to chapters which makes it an even better read.
Our main characters Rune, holds a big secret. A secret that is currently threatening to be exposed due to people currently looking for her former self to be used in their own way, but character St. Benedict will not take no as an answer. With some of the tense scenes in this read, the author writes this book well enough to break down the scenes with some fun and lighthearted scenes, it can really change the dynamic of the read. These two together brings out things in each other that wouldn’t normally arise, yet when they are together, they both make some brilliant developments to themselves during this book, once that I’m glad I got to experience when reading this book.
I can’t wait to see what occurs in book 2 yet, and what else this author may bring. But I’m glad i got the chance to read and experience this thrilling, action-packed read, that should not be missed!

4 Stars
This is my first book by this author and for the most part I did enjoy it. Im only starting to get into the paranormal genre and this one was great. I did have a little trouble keeping up and had to go back and re read to understand what was going on in places. It was constant action, had me on the edge throughout.
I did love the twists and turns that you never saw coming and the storyline was fantastic, had a little bit of everything and I loved the goings on in the bar that she owns.
The ending was great, a cliffhanger but not one that has you throwing your device, I do look forward to what is next. It had a great flow and was a quick read once I got going.
Enjoyable!
The Finder of the Lucky Devil
(Lucky Devil Series 1)
Written by Megan Mackie
4 out of 5 stars
The Finder of the Lucky Devil is a fast paced read from prologue to the very last page. I was drawn to the prologue immediately, somehow the writing is vague while painting a full picture, slowly unfolding before my eyes. As the story progresses, just when you think you have a handle on how things are going to go, you’re met with a twist that keeps the pages turning. The storyline is attention grabbing without being over the top or hard to follow and the character development throughout is just as strong. This is my first experience with Megan Mackie’s writing but it will not be my last. I really enjoyed the ending of this book, not quite a cliffhanger but enough of a subtle punch to make you curious what is next.
The Finder of the Lucky Devil: A Paranormal Thriller (The Lucky Devil Series Book 1) by Megan Mackie
This is the first book I have read by this author and I loved the details and world building. In my opinion this book has a lot of orginilality and it was definitely action packed!! I really enjoyed getting to know the heroin, Rune in this story. All the different species and mystery in this book is amazing. I love the twists and turns and the world the author has built. This book pulled me in from the beginning and kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire story. There are allies and enemies for Rune and St. Benedict, who wants Rune to find someone for him. Rune finds things and people as a side job when she isn’t bartending. How will Rune see this through? There are a lot of outside forces that the author has worked into storyline that has helped add drama and action and I loved it!! This is an awesome fantasy story and I highly recommend this book and I cannot wait to read the next book in this series.
